It is simple disappointing. Remember, if the person set up to interact with you when making an enrollment decision is unhelpful and inexperienced, think what the kids will get. It is a smaller pond than Davis Senior High, and there is less of an academic pressure-cooker vibe at DV. The students and faculty there are accepting of different folks and the atmosphere is very welcoming. There is academic rigor without brutal competition, which to me is the educational sweet spot. 2/18/26- Just found…read moreout my oldest received his email of acceptance into the M.S. program!!! I am so happy for him! He's worked so hard and this was truly a joyous moment.. He applied for another program, so I'm hoping that arrives soon.. He does have other applications that he submitted so, we will see where he goes.. If UcDavis can provide what he needs, this will be the first choice.. (his goal: to go to the Okinawa Institute )..! The employment director does not care for my health, my personal family emergencies, or anything…read more The employment director loves the pressure you as a redwood seed scholar. I repeated my boundaries twice (via text) but the employment director does not care at all. She does not see my point of view and doesn't care about my overall wellbeing. I told her that I wasn't ready for a second job because of what I mentioned earlier. All she said was "Can you continue to apply please?" Wow! Instead of backing off or checking in on me (like a normal kind person), she just ignored my boundaries. This is a huge red flag! Then she decided to email the director of the program about this situation as a response. It felt like a threat. I told my point of view to the director of the program about how unprofessional this is. Do yourself a favor and don't go to this program (or apply)! Avoid the program like the plague.
