I recently went to a birthday party in January on one of the coldest days of the year. I honestly didn't get to enjoy it because the party room was unbearably freezing. They had the unit that blew out a b out of warm air but not enough to make the room warm. All of the guests had to be wear their jackets the whole time. We told the workers several times that it was freezing but nothing was ever fixed. I would warn parents to be mindful that if you are throwing a party in the winter, you might have a very cold room. I will return in the summer to see how the AC is and if it is comfortable.

A grill was to be supplied of which I confirmed would be in good condition to barbecue (my food) for kids and parents after the paintball. Wood planks with nails were to be removed from the property as they were a hazard to children. Boots were to be supplied at child's preference with shoe sizes provided in advance. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WAS DONE AS PROMISED! NOTHING! No sign at the front, with staff showing up at 3:30 unprepared. Field not set up as promised. Kids didn't begin playing until close t 5pm. Tables not set up for food after and not where agreed upon. Would planks with nails never removed with kids in the picnic area running around. No fruit or energy bars for the kids. Small amount of water and Gatorade, warm, put into a mall cooler and iced at 4:30. Kids that asked for boots were interrogated as to why they were needed and refused the option. Grill rusted out to the point of unsafe, so no food for anyone! The owner, Mike, is a foul-mouthed troll who speaks to ten year olds in an abusive, aggressive manner. The adults got the same type of gutter talk, forced to listen to his negative spew regarding his day. He gets one star for honoring the refund, making him only a 99% POS.

My child accidentally discharged a paintball marker while adjusting his face mask, which was slightly broken at the time. I completely understand and accept that safety rules must be enforced, and I have no issue with him being removed from the game as a result. However, when I approached the manager to better understand what had happened so I could address it appropriately with my child, I found the interaction to be dismissive and unnecessarily confrontational. As a parent, I believe that mistakes can become meaningful learning experiences when they are handled with patience, respect, and clear communication. What concerned me most was not the correction itself, but the way it was delivered. Children are still learning how to make good decisions and manage responsibility. They should absolutely be held accountable, but in a way that preserves their dignity. A mistake should be a learning moment, not a moment of embarrassment or humiliation. I was also surprised to learn that participants were not required to sign a waiver, especially given the facility's strong emphasis on safety. Most concerning, however, was the behavior and language used by staff in the presence of both children and parents. The use of profanity and displays of anger in a family-oriented environment is unacceptable and sets a poor example for young participants. Since this occurred openly in front of multiple witnesses, including other parents, it cannot be overlooked or dismissed. In environments like this, adults set the tone. Children observe not only rules being enforced but also how adults handle frustration and conflict. Professionalism, patience, and self-control are especially important when working with young people. I hope management will take this incident seriously and consider additional training for staff in communication and behavior around children and families. I didn't love that due to the fact that my group had to wait to use the playing area because of the amount of guests this location was trying to host. There are 2 turf fields, but they are never available and my group had to wait and we used it as our last match, which I wished we had gotten more time at. Between hosting parties, limited refs and the overall traffic in availability of the fields, we waited a lot during our time. It also smelled like hot garbage in no matter where we went and I felt that the playing areas could certainly use maintenance- there were some run down moments and I thought that was a bust due to the costs and us being a private party. I have been to a different place in West Milford and even with the long commute, I would chose that over this location due to the better fields, the better maintenance of the business overall, the spacious set up, and the feeling of things being better coordinated.

I normally go to a certain range not too far from this location but the Toptracer digital flight tracking machines had peaked my interest. While my main focus is on ball striking, I wanted to go the extra mile and utilize Toptracer to get an idea of distance gaping my woods/irons. THE EXPERIENCE Things may have changed from some previous reviews but the golf mats were perfectly fine. There weren't any glaring wear issues and I've definitely seen worse. The golf balls were fine and still had dimples left so no complaints on that end as well. The real interest and determining factor of my experience was TopTracer Technology. With the help of the digital flight tracking machines that were installed in every stall, I was able to get some raw data that helped me distance gap my clubs. Keep in mind that all the data is relative to the conditions (especially cold conditions) but I was able to get the answers I was looking for. Toptracer is able to tell you carry, total distance, launch angle, and other useful information to help optimize your clubs. I personally used the data to see how I hit my multiple drivers and find which one I hit best. It was mission accomplished. Of note, there is a small practice green with some chipping mats surrounding it. There are maybe two holes that you can use for putting and the rest are mostly for chipping targets. OTHER INFO -In addition to golf, they have pickleball courts/mini golf/paintball/turfed field and other offerings to keep you interested -The cost was marginally higher compared to your typical range but in my opinion worth it. The small bucket cost 12 dollars here compared to 10 dollars to a normal one without the digital flight tracking. FINAL THOUGHTS While Anchor Golf is a little farther from the driving range I used to use, it's well worth it for the experience to see your raw data. I would recommend giving this place a try!
