While we were trying to get him dressed and ready! There were about 30 people in the pool taking a class of some sort and all the kids running around on the pool deck while they waited for the adult pool class to end. Total chaos. I am disenrolling my son and getting my money back. Avoid this place like the plague.

Also, I like the bathrooms - they seem safe, great design for people of all heights, UV drying blowers, and it feels safe... like no creepy creepers are slipping in there unnoticed. After his class they gave him ribbons that said he was ready for the next class and one for completing his 1st swim class. He was so thrilled! They have so much to offer. Swimming, gymnastics is, preschool, huge indoor climbing gym for rainy days and holiday themed events. They have easy sign ups online as well. This place is AWESOME! One instructor was very helpful at first, and we were told the same instructor would continue working with him. In the next class, that instructor was no longer available and my child was placed with a different instructor. During the lesson, he became very upset and had difficulty continuing the session while in the water. After that experience, he stopped wanting to continue and refused to enter the building. We were still charged for the following month, and a refund or transfer was not approved. Communication around makeup lessons and billing was also not clear. Overall, we decided not to continue.

At other swim schools, instructors pushed him to put his face in the water instead of listening to his concerns, and it never worked. Zen Penguin was completely different. Their instructors truly listen to kids and meet them where they are. The coaches are calm, present, consistent, and incredibly kind. They take the time to build trust and confidence. Now my once water-avoidant tween cannonballs into the deep end with his friends. My younger child has thrived here too; he went from no swim skills to strong streamlines and rollovers in just a few months. I especially appreciate their focus on real safety skills, like making sure every child can back float to breathe so they have a way to self-rescue. We always have eyes on the kids when they swim - but now I have the peace of mind knowing they have the skills to stay safe even when they're out of arm's reach. Wow - I really wish I could give this business 10 stars!…read more I absolutely adore the staff who've helped me get my daughter enrolled. I've spoken to Lauren and a couple of other girls, and they've been incredibly knowledgeable and helpful getting me established. The location has plenty of parking and I truly appreciate how they use a private entrance to keep their families safe. They share the pool area at the LA Fitness, but it's clear they have many safety protocols in place to protect their clients. Another example of this is: the staff wear face shields in the pool while instructing the children. I really appreciate they care holistically about the children's safety. The pool area and locker rooms are spotless and clean - a must! Teacher David was our swim instructor. He was the best part of our experience. David was super respectful, knowledgeable, and great with kids. He gave me tips for teaching my daughter safe water practices and what we can practice with her at home. I highly recommended this program for anyone who wants to feel safe in a swim class and to leave confidently knowing your child is learning life saving skills in the water! My experience with SafeSplash has been very disappointing, and I haven't even started classes yet…read more I initially enrolled online but had several questions because the schedule was confusing, the swim levels weren't clearly explained, and the website didn't provide enough information. When I called, I was already three-quarters of the way through the enrollment process. The representative asked me to cancel my online enrollment so he could enroll me over the phone, saying I'd get a better price. It ended up being exactly the same price. I also asked multiple times about private lessons because my schedule is very limited. Instead of answering my question, the representative kept talking about creating a group class. I had to explain several times that I wasn't looking for a group class--I wanted private lessons on a schedule that worked for me. Eventually, we found one group class that fit my schedule, and it was literally the only time I could attend. I enrolled and paid the annual registration fee based on that schedule. Then, on the day the class was supposed to start, SafeSplash changed the class time, making it impossible for me to attend. Since then, I've called twice and have been promised a callback within 48 hours, but no one has followed up. I've also been told that the annual registration fee is non-refundable because my class "already started"--even though the reason I can't attend is because they changed the schedule after I enrolled. I understand that schedules sometimes need to change, but customers shouldn't be penalized or charged a non-refundable fee when the company changes the only class they were able to attend. I hope SafeSplash reconsiders how it handles situations like this and improves both its communication and customer service. I'm happy to change my review if you change my experience. C. Travis

I enjoy swimming and Cascade has the best pool in the area so participation here is a matter of limited selection. My problem is the lack of policy/signs/refereeing something that keeps inconsiderate lane swimmers in line. Cascade has no posted policy or signs that direct how people should behave when there are others waiting for a lane. Since there are numerous older adults that seem to have developed blindness because they don't 'see' people waiting nor do they ask anyone. Instead, they see someone getting out of the pool and head directly to the lane that just opened up simply not caring that others are waiting. Most people seem to want to avoid conflict so nothing gets said empowering those who are already feel privileged enough to just jump in. Then there's me. I will say something and I might not be nice about it because your rudeness put you in my path. So, lane cutters if you can't turn to those waiting and ask then expect to get called out or for me to jump in 'your' lane. I simply won't stand for your rude behavior or whatever excuse you have for being like you are. As for Cascade - this on you. You have no policy, no guidance and no monitoring leaving us adults to police themselves. Fortunately, most do an exceptional job of policing themselves and have decency and courtesy. However, there are some that don't possess decency and probably have limited self-control when confronted about their behavior that could lead to an altercation between parties. If this were to happen to me you can bet that I would seeing you in court... And, while you are pondering this matter please scrub the pool! It's filthy. The walls and floor of the pool are coated in brown slime that cause slip when trying to push off. P.S. this also applies to those that are in a lane and invite someone that just shows up to join them instead of the next person in line as it should be. Friends don't get a free pass to the head of the line.
