I'm an event planner and plan weddings multiple times year. I work with vendors everyday. Communication is key, and every vendor knows that. Emma seemed to really struggle to communicate leading up to the wedding, which I think is absolutely unacceptable. As a paying client, FOR THE MOST IMPORTANT DAY OF YOUR LIFE, you shouldn't have to be stressing over... OR QUESTIONING.. whether or not your hair and make up artist is going to show up because you haven't heard from them 3 months prior to the wedding month. This creates A LOT of stress for the bride.. Emma did a spectacular job with hair, in terms of the hair staying throughout the entire night. She was on time. She made sure that as you were finishing up your hair, the next girl was ready to ensure that ALL girls were properly taken care. The CONS: - I didn't feel like my hair modeled the images I showed her. Instead, it felt like she had a go-to hairstyle and did that because it was what she was more comfortable doing. - She claimed she had done make up on Asian faces. She offered to send us photos and we asked multiple times, and NEVER received them. This was so we could have a peace of mind that the day-of wouldn't be a disaster, as it has been the case for other events and weddings where we had our make up done. - When she got there, she was upset about the fact that the place mom & pop place didn't have tables set up for the hair and make up artist, claiming that 'she's worked with this place before so they should know'. This is unprofessional and a conversation she should be having OUTSIDE of the wedding party and wedding day if she wants to be set up with the right equipment when she does hair and make up at the venue. - The day of the mock make-up, she tried to change the time. Again, there might be some room for flexibility leading up to the wedding day, but usually there isn't. And the reason for wanting to change the time was because she had to leave really early in the morning to make it to the venue. If that was a concern, she should've noticed what the commute was going to be earlier on - not the day before. - The day of the mock make-up, she tried to lay her straightener and curler on a really nice table in our home. She said it was 'fine' after we asked her to put a towel down or something. We ended up putting down a hot pan mat that we use and ended up melting it. Kind of seemed careless for our house. I personally think she created a lot of unnecessary stress. If you work in the wedding industry, you KNOW to make things run as smoothly as possible. I don't think she's doing it maliciously, but if you're going to work in this industry, you have to understand the commitment it requires.. and there's no cop-out. I do intend to speak about the utter lack of communication from you, impossibility in reaching you (even days before the wedding) while I had to watch you posting almost daily on your Instagram account, last minute (though I know you couldn't help COVID) cancellation of your services, and the replacements seemingly have no connection to 'Emma Collins Beauty'. I chose you specifically as I wanted YOUR services on my wedding day. It is not the fault of the other hair and makeup artists you sent (I did not choose them), but I was unhappy with my makeup and hair on the day. Unfortunetely hiring Emma Collins Beauty was perhaps the biggest mistake in my wedding planning. Start to finish it was horrible service. To get ahold of her was near impossible, even days before the wedding. Looking to confirm the day-of details, she was completely unresponsive - not answering my multiple emails, then texts, and then phone calls days before my wedding, all while actively posting to Instagram. I debating sending a DM in desperation. This caused an awful amount of stress and anxiety leading up to the day and day of. I was not sure anyone was even going to show up. In the end, she finally texted (unprofessional) me back 2 days before my wedding only to tell me she had covid and would not be coming (she had been posting all weekend before from the Taylor Swift concert). She then sent 2 random hair and makeup artists I did not get to choose or see any of their work prior. Unfortunetely I was not happy with either my hair or make-up - I was paying Emma Collins Beauty prices, but the make-up artist she sent was using Elf beauty products...it was not at all what I had believed I would be getting given the cost. I booked a woman to do my hair and makeup 7 months prior to my wedding. One month prior she advised me she didn't put me on her calendar. I was so upset. I reached out to Emma who informed me she was available for my date but only bevy she wanted to take a weekend to herself. She told me after hearing my story she just had to help me. Emma literally ghosted me for weeks leading up to my Feb. 2020 wedding. Who does that to paying clients!? If you are running your own business, in my opinion, you should be capable of communicating efficiently. For over a month Emma didn't bother to reply to any of my attempts to contact her; phone & email. Oh and did I mention she was posting on social media while she was ignoring me? Hire an assistant if you can't make time to speak to your existing clients! I work in financial services, so you could say I know a thing or two about professionalism and in my honest opinion, Emma has none. She did offer to make amends by sending something in the mail, but she never replied to my last email (shocker right?) and I haven't received anything. Unless you want to be stressing out and calling the same vendor multiple times until they decide to stop sending your calls to voicemail THREE DAYS BEFORE YOUR WEDDING, I would recommend working with a beauty artist other than Emma Collins Beauty. read more

If you are looking for a relaxing beauty experience for your wedding day, keep shopping. Emma Collins Beauty is not for you. We all know this can be a very stressful day and there is no telling what could possibly go wrong but we hope to have a good time with our favorite ladies even if some relative is getting crazy. Unfortunately, Emma Collins will only contribute to the chaotic stress, and then over charge you for it. I should say that Emma's staff was early, kind, and did excellent work. She on the other hand was unprofessional and rude to our bride. We had scheduled 6 people to get hair and make-up done with a $500 min at $65 per make up, $65 per hair, and $20 for lashes, etc. etc.per the contract with the bride. Although hair and make up crew were early and we were told grabbing a coffee, etc. was fine and we had plenty of time to get started and we ultimately finished well above schedule with 7 people, Emma was rude to us for not all being ready to start right away. We had a staggered call intentionally to avoid over crowding the room but we did have a couple people running behind and 1 no show. Instead of being kind and considerate to an already stressed bride. Emma told THE BRIDE ON HER WEDDING DAY that if someone doesn't take the place of that person who didn't show up, SHE WOULD HAVE TO FOOT THE BILL. Even with that person not showing up, the contract had 6 people involved and 6 people were there! Emma was then told by a bridesmaid that the issue would be resolved and that she would be paid the amount in full one way or another. Apparently this was not good enough for Emma and she took the bride into the bathroom alone to harass her about the contract ON HER WEDDING DAY even though she was told she would get her money. In addition to her rude nature to the bride, she herself seemed to be unclear on the contract she was so rudely trying to enforce. She had no idea who was actually on the list and manipulated one of our people into getting her hair done that hadn't planned on it and wasn't on the list. The missing spot was filled by 2 people because of Emma's aggressive behavior. Good move to add some more cash to your day. All of our hair and makeup was completely done well ahead schedule even with our own family hiccups. However, we were all overcharged by at least $20. When a complaint was given, Emma began blaming the bride for all of the issues and for not knowing the contract, even though her verse of the contract was inaccurate and we have it on file. Emma claimed to rectify this with everyone but only did so with the person that complained about her and no one else. This experience was disastrous and unprofessional and I would not recommend her to anyone. Please find someone else for your hair and makeup needs. Let your drunk aunt be the crazy, embarrassing one, not your beauty vendor. read more

Such a wonderful experience! Emma Collins Beauty was my first choice for wedding hair and make-up at my destination wedding in Savannah, and I was lucky enough that she was available on my date. I've never felt more beautiful thanks to her and her team! Emma is amazingly talented, so much fun to work with, will listen to your ideas and any concerns you have, and turn them into your dream hair and make-up. She also knows what works, and will discuss options to ensure that you end up with a flawless look that will stay all day and all night! My hair and make-up looked as good at the end of the night as when she finished it that morning. Her team is amazing as well, making all of my bridesmaids, my mom and my mother-in-law look fantastic.
