She's knowledgeable about beaches all over Maui, makes it fun and comfortable for the kids when shooting, and is easy to communicate with too! She took our photoshoot to the next level by coming up with a "Christmas by the Beach" concept and recommended a beach location that had a stunning backdrop of the ocean and was easy to access. We were so fortunate to find Emma in advance to our trip to Maui. From her quick responsiveness, detailed plans, kind disposition, and, of course, photo skillset we left feeling so impressed. Prior to the start time of our shoot, the weather predictions on Maui kept changing (totally normal). Working with Emma when we both lived in San Francisco was one of the most memorable mornings I've had! She approached me about doing an outdoor sunrise boudoir shoot, and I was very nervous to put myself (literally) out there while wearing so little with someone I'd technically hadn't met yet. But Emma made the shoot so easy; she found a beautiful location that wouldn't be too populated given the sunrise hour, gave me the clear directions on where to meet, and even provided me with a beautiful kimono to wear over my lingerie so that I would be more comfortable when taking the photos! I was hesitant to do a maternity session because I wasn't confident in how I looked while pregnant, but when I found Emma, I knew I'd found the right photographer. Not only did Emma help select the perfect location, outfit, and give general advice, but she made me feel extremely comfortable during the shoot. What can I say? If you enjoy working with unresponsive and unorganized photographers, Emma is not the person for you. Emma was quite the opposite. Aside from the amazing photos and quick turnaround, she was quick to respond, organized, punctual, and really easy to work with. Now, I've never done pictures of myself with a swimsuit on - especially not wearing a bikini. But, this shoot with Emma felt a little different. In fact, I felt a little different. I met Emma around 7 a.m. on Saturday with the sun just about to rise and decided to just say, "fuck it." I said screw the insecurity and stress on whether I looked "weird" or "lumpy." Emma was such a delight to work with. I wasn't sure where to take our Christmas photos and she recommended to choose a place that my 3 year old son loved and was comfortable to be in. Hands down the most fun family photography session we've had! Emma set us up with a great wardrobe- matching bathing suits for my daughter and I , a great beach hat and cover up for me, and also recommended just the right colours and outfit for my husband and son.
