They over-serve their clearly intoxicated patrons. It's quite sad and they also are not friendly staff.

There was something for everyone. We started with a couple appetizers and drinks. The CHEESESTEAK BAO BUN was actually pretty good. It's obviously not a traditional bso bun but it was delicious. The shrimp wontons were pretty tasty as well. I got the salmon entree and it was perfectly cooked and yummy. Everyone seemed to be happy with their choices. Overall, an A+ experience.

Given it was 95 degrees out the AC was welcomed. We started with a couple drafts of Algash white. One of my favorites. I ordered the short rib grilled cheese and my wife got the OG flatbread. The flatbread was actually more like a thick crust pizza which was different than expected but quite tasty. My grilled cheese with a small caeser was just OK because one of the cheeses, I am guessing the American, made it feel very gloppy. Too bad. Also though it wasn't too busy it took a long time for our food to come out of the kitchen. Prices were typical. An interesting menu so I would return but order differently.

There is a bar area with some booths, as well as a large dining space. If want happy hour you have to sit at the actual bar though. We were greeted by super friendly and very nice hostess. We were seated immediately. Our server (shout it to Chloe) was also friendly and checked in on us throughout our visit. A manager of some sort even swung by to ask how things were going. If you have picky eaters or a large group with varies diets... this is the place to come. The menu is a book! Like it's robust. There are starters, burgers, pizzas, sushi, sandwiches... like it's never ending. When you see a book of a menu you wonder how the quality is going to be since it would be assumed that the kitchen has a massive amount of food that must be made on demand. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food that we had. Well done! Don't be intimidated by the menu. We ordered the potstickers which were tasty and delicious. They do have a little bit of a kick to them. Also ordered the special chicken biscuit sliders served with a side of white gravy. Get these!!! They were absolutely delicious. Highly recommend. Also ordered a BBQ burger with sweet potato fries. The fries come with an icing like filling sauce. Burger was great and fresh. Overall, a great meal and would come back.

There are a few popular chains located near the mall like PF Changs and The Cheesecake Factory but I had never eaten at Tommy's and the menu items sounded great. It's one of the most extensive menus I've ever seen, serving everything from burgers to salads to pizza to sushi to pasta. They have it all! There's no reason to be picky here. Food is served hot and fast. My party of 3 didn't wait long for a Grilled Ahi Tuna wrap, a Brisket Sandwich and Pulled Pork Mac and Cheese. Everything came out relatively quick. The ahi tuna wrap was superb. Perfectly grilled tortilla wrap and the ingredients inside blended together beautifully. There was a hint of wasabi in there but it wasn't overpowering and I could still taste the ahi tuna. I added some soy sauce but it honestly didn't even need it. It's tasty as is. Awesome selection of beers here, too. I mean, it's in the name so no surprise there. Service was excellent as our waitress checked in on us multiple times and asked if we needed drink refills each time she stopped over. Tommy's has quite a few locations. It's nice to know I could probably find one when I'm traveling outside of my home state. Definitely come here if you love HUGE menus and phenomenal food!

We started with the crab dip bread bowl (3.5) with two beers. The crab dip was very good...filling. And then we had to go with the tavern classic and award winning fish and chips (4.6). We shared and was more than enough. And ended with the donut holes and a scoop of walnut ice cream and a beer and the old fashion. My over all experience was a 4.5. The staff sounded pleasant, we sat at the bar and our server was cool, call, collective.

It's been many things in its history, but it's been Jessop's Tavern since 1996. (The family who owns the restaurant named it after a cooper named Abraham Jessop, who lived and worked in the building in 1724.) The restaurant has a great menu of food (including dishes inspired by the cuisines important to New Castle's early history: smorgasbord, a Dutch-inspired pot roast, etc.) and an incredible list of beers (200 Belgian beers, 20+ Belgian beers on draft, and more). We shared the Jessop's Tavern Crab Dip (served in a sourdough bread bowl) for the table, and I had the New Sweden Meatloaf for my entree (meatloaf with a vodka cream sauce and lingonberry preserves). I also had a couple of colonial ales - Washington's Porter by Yards Brewing Co. (I liked it so much, I had two). The service was good, and the ambiance is great: full of colonial charm. I'm sure there are other great places to eat in New Castle, but eating at Jessop's Tavern is a special place to grab a meal if you're spending the day exploring New Castle and learning about its history.
