Yesterday I stopped by to pick up takeout and brought my service dog with me because it was raining and I was only waiting about 10-15 minutes for my food. I was not dining in, just waiting for my order. The manager, Sam, approached me and literally told me to "get out." The way the situation was handled was humiliating and completely unnecessary. Multiple bartenders later apologized to me, and several customers even stood up for me because they saw how disrespectful the interaction was. Meanwhile, many people were petting my dog and had no issue with her being there at all. What made the situation even more upsetting was hearing from multiple people that another regular customer brings in a much larger German Shepherd without problems. So the rules clearly do not seem to apply equally to everyone. Sam tried to justify it by saying people could have allergies, but there are respectful and professional ways to speak to customers, especially when it involves a service animal. I left feeling embarrassed and honestly shocked by how poorly I was treated over simply waiting for my takeout order. Overall, it was a terrible experience and completely ruined my impression of this place. First time at this location. Been to a few in Delaware and always enjoyed it! The place was so busy and active at noon. I hate eating by myself! I forgot about the popcorn!!! So perfect to start! I ordered the grilled Rueben very delicious but toasted not grilled. Husband had the stuffed burger and both were so juicy. Good coffee and ice tea. Most were enjoying an adult beverage!! Manager tried intimidating us because we asked another table to borrow a few chairs and they let us, was very childish and unprofessional. It was 9:30pm on a Saturday and the main dining area was very empty. When we offered to put the chairs back and stand, they started complaining even more and gave us an attitude. The server confronted us because a few people at our table ordered drinks at the bar, but took well over 30 minutes to bring us a canned drink. We stop here occasionally on the way home from the beach and get their Sunday roast beef sandwich special which includes a beer. I am not a beer drinker so my husband drinks my beer, and we pay for my glass of wine. Usually no issue with the server. Unfortunately, on our last stop the server charged us for the beer that is included in the special. We pointed this out, and were told that "technically, we don't do that, but I will adjust your bill this time but not again". I would like to hear from management their policy on this. Food is very good and price is well below similar type eateries like Shelleens and Whelihans. It has quickly become our go to place for a budget meal. We've found that most of our servers have been friendly and energetic but unfortunately, they seem to leave and the ones who act like they hate their job and customers seem to stay. After discovering McGlynn's Greenville and having several "10" experiences we invited some friends. Our server who we will only identify as "M" was awful and turned us all off. They haven't been back due to that night and it's been several months, but we continue. Tonight, we had "M" as a server again. We will continue to go to McGlynns Greenville but will ask for "M" not to be our server and if she is, we will go elsewhere. Again, the only star missing is for the one server. We don't expect all servers to be a 10 but at least a 5 or above. A server can make or break a night. Again, I totally recommend McGlynns, just hope you don't get that one server. read more

We've been here several times in the past few months. We lucked out with all but one as far as servers, especially Brooke, who was amazing. I think she left when college started again. I don't remember the name of our server on our last visit but she was totally forgettable, as i I wish I could forget how bad she was. As far as food, we've had the Jambalaya, crab cakes, the Summer Special with 1 pound of shrimp, etc, short ribs, Turkey Dijon sandwich. We've also been happy with the crab dip and nachos we've had as appetizers. Our similar go-to places were Whelihan's, Duffer's, Barnaby's and Shelleens, but so far we've found McGlynns to be well above them. Just stress to all your servers to pretend they love their job and really enjoy serving customers. I'm only writing this review because I work in the industry as a bartender. I frequent here after work for the food and outside bar. My food was delivered to me tonight by a server or food runner that had obviously been cut or was done with her shift. When she dropped my food off, she also had her phone, vape, and water bottle in hand, my food in the other. Not a big deal but just nooooot a great look for the business. Price during happy hour was good but server in the outside service area disappeared for several minutes when I was attempting to pay. Had to go inside to track someone down then to follow them back outside to pay. When leaving no exit greeting from the hostess. Well, I was at the outside patio with a friend and there were others there and several TV's, most on the same channel. My friend asked the bartender to put golf on a TV to his left. The bartender told him she could put the one on 20 feet behind him! He asked why can't you put it there? And pointed at the TV. Next thing you know, this manager named Wesley came out and started screaming at my friend for at least 10minutes. I asked him to keep it down or go to his office several times and he ignored me and kept screaming at my friend! Prior to that, I was told you not allowed to wear your pro team's jersey in there if the sport is out of season! The food is always great, bar tenders are friendly and knowledgeable when sitting at the bar (inside or outside). Service is good when we have chosen to sit at a table. By far the best thing outside is there mascot Stella the german shepherd, she wears a cute McGlynn's shirt and is super friendly. She says hello but doesn't intrude. I've seen her all over people's Instagrams which is one of the things that originally brought me and my husband into this location. We always support businesses that allow well behaved dogs as I also work at a rescue. Come to find out when talking to Stella's owner she was also a rescue. Her presence really lifts this location and we are happy when we get to see her! read more

The food is decent, the menus (food & drink) have nice variety. I typically enjoy sitting in the patio area & I like how it can be enclosed & kept warm in the colder months. However, last night on the patio there were 2 loose dogs running around. At one point both dogs were under the table I was eating at. Tried the Barley Mill location for a 3rd time....specifically called the restaurant on Thursday afternoon for a Friday; 6:45pm OUTDOOR reservation to celebrate a friends birthday. Arrived at 6:40 and was told, sorry we messed up and no outdoor table available.....when I asked what I need to do different in the future to ensure a reservation is taken properly; I was told "nothing" you did everything right. After a discussion with what I assumed was a Manager; an outdoor table was all of the sudden available. Service was excellent; food not so much....had the fish tacos that were LOADED with salt; would not recommend. I commented about the reservation process (or lack thereof before); hopefully this gets addressed soon read more

Decided to give this place a shot and was sadly disappointed. Started our experience by ordering waters and an appetizer (wings). Being that it was Monday the appetizers were $5 off which I thought was a good deal. After some time we ordered our meals. Once the wings came out, I was shocked at how tiny they were for the cost of 10.99 let alone the full 15.99 if it wasn't Monday. As soon as we started eating our wings the meals came right as well, not sure how as there was a pretty big gap between when ordered our appetizer and meals. I ordered the French Onion Steak sandwich and the bread was so spongy. Something as simple as toasting the bread would make a huge difference. The fries seemed frozen and stale. My son ordered the hot roast beef sandwich which was served with the tiniest ramekin of au jus. Seriously what are you supposed to dip in that? Also, not once did our waitress refill our water. To be fair the bar area looked nice, I might come back for drinks, but I'm alright with not having the food again. read more

Just left the restaurant. Service was absolutely terrible. It was well past the lunch rush so no excuses for poor, slow, inattentive service. Waitress came to the table, we ordered our food right away because we had a hungry five year old in tow. She brought us the water we asked for but never brought us the Diet Coke we ordered. Someone delivered the food to the table and we never saw her again. The 5 y/o was getting antsy after we'd been there for 5 minutes after finishing our meal. I had to get up twice (5 minutes apart) and ask for our check. Several minutes after the second request the waitress finally arrived. I was so angry I just paid it at the table using Toast and didn't notice that she charged us the $3 for the Coke she never gave us. I left an 18% tip because I'm a nice person. This is the 3rd terrible experience we've had at McGlynn's, three strikes you're out. We won't be back. read more

I have been a regular at the Pike Creek location for a very long time. Before that I frequented the People's Plaza location so Mcglynns has always been our go to when our friends meet up. We went yesterday to see the newest location and also celebrate a birthday. The outdoor patio is amazing. We loved sitting out there socializing and watching the game. Our waitress Falesha was amazing! As more of our group came in she gots them taken care right away. Unfortunately those of us who frequent the other locations are unable to get certain old menu items. It wasn't super busy when we got there and I was told they were too busy to do a shrimp quesdilla since it was "off menu". No problem I went to Pike Creek and got it later. The menu has been cut down so much some of our old favorites are gone. Maybe a different menu or more flexible options would be nice. The specials were nothing appealing to our group. My husband and I went to McGlynns last night for dinner. My husband tried to make a reservation online but as others have noted, the system wasn't working so he called instead. He was asked if he wanted a booth or a table and he requested a booth. When we arrived for our reservation, we were seated at a table next to the front door. I let the hostesses (there were two) know that we requested a booth. They let us know that it wasn't in the notes, at which point I asked if we could get the booth that was clearly available and they said no. One of the hostesses then proceeded to walk us to our table, which was literally next to the front door. She walked away before I could ask her if we could have another table. I then asked the other hostess if we could have the other table further from the door to which she replied, "they have a reservation." Right, I had a reservation too. There was clearly no interest or ability to problem solve. Horrible customer service. My husband ordered the french onion steak sandwich and I had the chicken fajitas. The sandwich was okay but my fajitas were terrible. The chicken was so over seasoned that we started sneezing as soon as they came out and they didn't come with guacamole, salsa, or sour cream, as listed in the description. Also, we had to swat flies once the food arrived. Our waitress was nice enough but she wasn't around for most of our meal. Definitely will not return or recommend. read more
