Amazing staff! They are very accommodating and helpful. My friends and I have been coming here for many years.

"Special" was delivered on a hot plate with cold food. The waiter, Gave me the choice to have it reheated or boxed...totally missed my point that it wasn't what I was paying for & should be taken off the bill or get a different dish. Needless to say they made a fresh dish and boxed it, this made no sense to me. So I ended up paying for that dish, taking it home and throwing it away. I had concerns of "special" ingredients being added. I found the waiter to be condescending and not transparent. He knew I wanted the artichokes normally on the menu, as they were out on my last visit. The waiter remembered Tod from my last visit and assured me they had the artichokes which I was happy to say yes, yet he didn't tell me they weren't the ones I expected and normally on the menu. The order was sour tasting and unappetizing, my son couldn't eat them at all. This review is for Jordana (our host tonight, wearing glasses and pigtail braids). Even though Jordana was the host, she went above and beyond by also taking care of us as our waitress on a very busy night. It was our first time at McGlynns, and thanks to her, it was a wonderful experience. She was kind, attentive, and genuinely friendly. I even told her not to rush our orders since the pub was so packed, but she still managed to get everything out quickly and with a smile. My husband, son, and I all felt so welcomed, and when our extended family joined us, my in-laws were so impressed that they said they'd definitely come back. The food was spectacular! Their French onion soup is LEGENDARY! Jordana truly made the night special for us--she's the reason we'll be back too. Prices going up- food and service going down. Ordered a roast beef sandwich ( why the server didn't tell me it was customer appreciation night and I could have gotten a complimentary one - I'll never know!). The sandwich came with a couple red onions on it and it was super dry roast beef. Never had roast beef with red onion! No cheese - no nothing on it. The server said they checked the order and said "l placed the order correctly- no idea what she is doing back there in the kitchen!" But yet never offered to correct the order! Although, was given a slice of cold cheese to put on my not so hot roast beef sandwich! McGlynns can definitely do better or can lower the prices since service and food not so good as it used to be. read more

A local bar with pub food. Decent drinks, but skip the food. Not sure how this place is managed, but the busy bar tenders are also running food orders to tables leaving no one behind the bar serving drinks? Really?? Seemed like a ball of confusion for the poor employees. Could be a good local place to eat and drink with some proper management and new cooks. Good luck to ya. read more

Literally the only thing this place needs to get better at is food.... Which should be the only thing they get right. I'm convinced their chef had Covid recently because their Beer Cheese Soup was so salty it would make an oyster pucker. Fries were cold (which I'm told is a regular problem). McGlynn's is a mainstay in Delaware for delicious food, good drinks, and a fun atmosphere. Staff is always attentive and willing to help with recommendations. They have a great special every night (shout out to all you can eat shrimp Thursdays!). It's a go to for me and friends to meet at McGlynns to watch a game and drink some beers. 10/10 would always recommend. Outstanding! I came for the Steelers Colts game last Thursday. My waitress took excellent care of me. I ordered the wings twice and she brought them out right away and also kept filling up my water. I also ordered the peppermint ice cream, which I believe is from Woodside Farms, and it was to die for. Oh failed to mention I was able to take advantage of the $5 off for appetizers deal, so my meal was quite economical. Do not expect good service at the bar if you are a new customer. The bartender took my drink order then never came back to take a food order. This place is definitely for the local drunks. You can bet that on any given night, it'll be poppin' with the same demographic. There's always a nice gentleman or two right outside the double doors smoking a cigarette and hollering at the 20 somethings about a ride on the motorcycle (or them) that sits out front, all sad and lonely. Went in there one time and walked out immediately, have been avoiding this place like a plague ever since, but always a consistent interaction when trying to swing into dominoes. Yikes read more

McGlynn's is a local classic! I'm always greeted by the smell of the hot, freshly popped popcorn! Consistently Good food, great drinks, awesome happy hour, and just a place to see all the locals. The local "Cheers" atmosphere, you never meet a stranger here. You can always tell a great place when there's low turnover with the staff - the bartenders have been around for years! The onion soup is a regular for me and the turkey pretzel roll sandwich is delicious! They've recently remodeled the Pike Creek location and it's created a really cool, updated vibe, while maintaining the Irish pub look and feel. If you want a real treat, be sure to be at McGlynn's EARLY on St Patrick's Day or you won't get in! It's a Delaware tradition! Love McGlynn's and will be back over and over again! read more

Server (young girl) was very disinterested in her job. Total lack of personality. I ordered an Arnold Palmer (half iced tea and half lemonade) but I was served a John Daley, which is vodka added to above. So happy I'm not a recovering alcoholic. Fish and chips were very greasy. Chili looked like it was directly from a can. Too thick. And why doesn't your bar carry Proseco??!! Please remind your staff that their service depends on tips. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into this new location (to me) in Greenville, DE. The place was busy for lunch on a weekday but we were seated quickly and given menus. The service was wonderful and the menu selection had something for everyone for our group of three people. I had a burger and it was delicious. My co-workers had sandwiches and they enjoyed their meals as well. We will be back to this location for future lunch outings. read more

Service was awful. On a Sunday dinner they ran out of fries and wine. No management at all and completely understaffed. We sat down for dinner at 3 we didn't get out entrees till 5:15. Waiter had no clue what he was doing and no refills on drinks. I love McGlynns. We come almost weekly for one of their specials. Tonight we were here for burgers at five and almost immediately I could hear yelling from the bar. A woman, either a bartender or customer, was yelling profanities constantly and screaming at other patrons. I understand I'm at a bar but this kind of behavior is ridiculous at such an early time. Older couples and families come in to enjoy the nightly specials and don't want to listen to this kind of crap. A bartender or manager needs to step up and take control of situations like this or you're going to end up losing business. I can't say enough good things about the food and friendliness of the servers but this experience has really made me think twice about coming back. read more
