I recently took my cammies to Emma's Alterations to have name tapes sewn on, and unfortunately, they wrote the wrong name down and sewed it on my uniform. While they did fix the mistake when I returned, I was shocked by the unprofessional behavior of one of the owner's daughters. She confronted me about my wife allegedly being rude to her two years ago when they ruined a brand new Marine Dress Blue jacket. This was completely uncalled for and unnecessary. How about thanks for giving us another chance after ruining your expensive jacket. It's worth noting that this isn't the first time I've had issues with Emma's Alterations. They seem to get things wrong every time I go in. The only reason I used them again was out of desperation. I strongly recommend avoiding Emma's Alterations and going to 6th Fleet across the street instead. They are much more professional and do a far better job. As I'm retiring from the Marine Corps, I won't need to use their services again; I suggest you don't either. read more

Had my jeans and dress pants done here 11/27/20.. I highly recommend you to go elsewhere if you are trying to get alterations done ie. Chief Macs next door. They told me they would call me the next week on Monday 11/30/20 for me to pick up my pants. Monday comes no call, so I called in Tuesday.. they told me they are swamped so they moved the pickup date to next week 12/07/20 so I said no problem. I go to try to pick up my pants on that day, I walk in they said they arent done yet, made me wait an hour and a half(seemed like they didnt even touch my pants since they came in). I take my pants and my dumba** didnt check how they were because I just wanted to go home immediately. I check my pants at the house and let me tell you, I dont even sew and look at what they done to my pants, absolute dismay. New Levi's pants ruined, seemed like her daughters practiced on them. Hems were not uniform at all, some wide some thin. Lines were crooked. I went back to get them re-done said she would call me.. no call for 3 days so I show up, she said they werent done yet so I kindly asked for her to just give it to me so I can bring it elsewhere, but insisted they would be done in one hour. I sit in my car for an hour and lo and behold they were done.. she did fix them but some were already damaged beyond repair and one was barely decent.. nice people but if thats the quality of work you do for peoples clothes, please do not accept their money and say you've done the best you could. I will never come back to this headache of a place. Chief mac's did it right the first time, I only came to Emma's because I mistook it for Chief mac's since they are next to each other. They said they could but it is a "rush job" and would charge me an extra $15 making it $50 which is a rip off. A clustered experience. I needed a quick turnaround to have one blouse pressed with military creases. I brought it in Saturday morning at 9 am and they said it would be ready by 2 pm. I even brought a sample blouse with the exact shirt and how the creases needed to be. I came back at 3 and they only had one line on the back. Than the owner or manager said she would do it herself and come back at 6. When I picked it up at 6:30 it was the worst military creases in the front I have ever seen. Needless to say I had to pick up a shirt and do the military creases myself as reporting to my unit with crooked creases wouldn't fall under making a good impression. this is my first review I've ever left on a store before. I got recommended to check out this shop for my uniform dry cleaning and alterations. I drop off my uniform to get it dry cleaned and to add my new rank on. I paid up front for it and came back when it was ready. it was not dry cleaned, the didn't add any of the patches I asked for, stole the patches I gave them, and charged me again when I went to pick it up saying I didn't pay before. I don't know if it was an off day or something but they completely messed up my uniform, leaving my high and dry when I needed it. will not be returning. read more

Talk about same day service, this place gets it done in minutes. Of course I would go here with two days before an inspection, but that didn't matter. I was told to take a seat while they went and sowed hashmarks and rating badge. The only issue I have with this place is that it's cash only. There is an ATM next door at the gas station. But if you need something done right away, since we know turnaround time at the exchange can literally be weeks and thats for a rush job. Touching moment story, my husband was running late to pick up his uniform and I had called Emma's Alterations if it was OK that he picked up his uniform like 5-10 minutes after closing time(since he needed next day for inspection)? They were very polite and let him pick it up even though it was 20 minutes after closing time when he arrived. The owner even joked with him for picking up his uniform late, but it was just all jokes as she stayed open for a few others to pick up and drop off their uniforms also after closing time. This is the only place my husband has been to for 2+ years to get his uniform needs done. Never had a problem and my husband has never complained. He always does a thorough inspection of his uniform before he leaves the shop in case if anything needs to be fixed and done so he doesn't have to go back a second time. read more
