After countless places that just didn't quite hit the mark, we're thrilled to say: we finally found it at China Palace! We've driven past this little gem countless times while heading down old State Street, always remarking, "We've really got to try that place someday." Well, last night, someday finally came--and we're so glad it did. From the moment we walked in, it felt like stepping back in time in the best way possible. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with that nostalgic charm you just don't find much anymore. The menu had all the classics we were hoping for, and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious--full of flavor, perfectly cooked, and served in generous, hearty portions that left us with leftovers for the next day (which we're not complaining about!). What truly elevated our experience, though, was the service. Rebecca took care of us, and she was phenomenal--friendly, attentive, and genuinely made us feel right at home. It's rare these days to find that kind of thoughtful, personal service, and it made a great meal even better.
