    Lemon Chicken
    Steve M.

I have been wanting to try this american chinese spot for a while. Its like a throwback to the 1990s! The restaurant was casual and clean. The service was great and she answered all my questions promptly. We ordered takeout. The chinese specials 3 items and 4 items with a lemon chicken meal as a extra. The 3 item was Sweet and sour pork, fried rice, egg flower soup. The 4 item was mongolian beef, fried rice, hot sor soup and a spring roll. The sweet and sour pork was tasty but lacked the quantity and quality of meat your used too getting with a pork dish like this. It was mainly breading and while pork is still affordable, no reason not to load it up! Haha The mandarian chicken was tasty but mostly veggies with some meat. The fried rice was lacking in egg (prob cuz of egg prices) but it was good. The soups were blah, but on par with other chinese american spots. The lemon chicken was good and the spring roll was the best thing we ate. If they need to increase their prices a dollar or two to up the quantity of meat, I think this place would be a four star and am sure people would pay for it.

Truly a great experience! . Pros- Easy parking. Comfortable, and spacious dining room. Friendly, and quick service. Good size portions and flavorful sauce. Decent prices. And I had a great fortune cookie too! . Cons- This restaurant has been here for a while, and the tabletops are very warn down. I realize they are clean, but they have an odd feeling and texture, so I believe it is really time to refinish the table tops. . Yes I would definitely go back and tell all my friends about the great food and experience here.

Service. 10 Environment. 10 Food. 9.5. Was very surprised at how much I enjoyed this place. When I went at least, this place was quiet and the food was really good, worth the price.

    Egg Foo Yung

Where to start.... Chow mein is basically angel hair pasta. "Fried" rice is white rice with lots of soy sauce and some green onions. No egg. Ordered shrimp fried rice, had only 3 shrimp. Egg foo yung looked like 3 hockey pucks doused in super salty, thick, brown gravy. Mongolian beef had zero heat to it but plenty of sodium. I guess I've been lucky and never had bad Chinese, until now. Zero stars. I never write reviews but I couldn't let this one go.

Portions are horrible , this is the size given for all entree plates. Also, paid the $1.00 for the fried rice $16 . Total spent Sad to say the entree is too much on the portion side.

    Spicy Mandarin Chicken

A little place in a strip mall on Ten Mile and Ustick, with maybe 12 tables. Tops seemed a bit sticky, but I think it is the finish. I got the spicy Mandarin chicken and the squeeze got General Tao's chicken. Neither dish was real spicy, but they have some decent hot sauce. Be aware that there a no veggies or anything in the dishes, just meat, which is what the menu shows. It would probably be best to split a veggie dish and one of these. Good for a takeout assortment. They do come with rice. Both were sweet as well. I will be back to try some complete dishes,

From a small sample size of only three dishes, this is definitely a place for some quality Chinese food. This was a "takeout order only" for us as we were headed home. So glad to see that they are operating again after the vandalism to their business took place. The cowards who did the damage should be dragged behind a truck on Ten Mile. I hope they get caught and I have a chance to be in the jury. The fried rice was not greasy, light and fluffy with good flavor. The Mongolian Beef was very nice with lots of dried Japanese chilies (the way I like it). A non-spice eater in the family ate it and did not worry about the spiciness as long as you steer clear of the actual chilies. Both dishes are candidates for reorder. The lettuce wraps could have used more frying. The meat was cooked, but not crispy. It also lacked some flavor. This is a place that demands more exploration. We will be back.

    More yellowed broccoli

Couldn't wait to try this place as I see it often when I am out. I called and ordered a veggie stir fry with fried rice for pick up. When I arrived home and opened the container I was surprised to see it came as a soupy mess. Way too much liquid. It was a very small portion size. Fried rice came in a very small container, measured about 1/2 cup and paid $1.00 extra. Veggies were bland but the worst part was the broccoli, it had turned yellow which means it has gone bad. Every piece was yellow. I called and spoke to the manager. All she said was "ok". Couldn't have cared less. The fried rice was a short grain, not what you expect also with no flavor at all. I threw out 1/4 of the veggies due to the yellow, gross broccoli. All this for the price of $15.00 + Price is way too high for what you get. Not worth going back.

CLOSED as of July 30, 2025…read more A couple originally from Portland (I think I have the city right) opened their kitchen offering take out only (delivery in limited area) Cantonese food that was pretty good for what it was. They operated out of one of the 17 ghost kitchens in what was the former CRAVE! Delivery kitchens in maybe 2024. (Honestly, the original owner of this original ghost complex added the naming emphasis but the original line up and the one that followed was a terrible disaster.) Now the owner of the ghost complex is apparently going to sell it. My understanding from the Wei people is they are closing now, they plan to travel (including China) for a while. Hopefully they'll come back and be able to open a bricks and mortar place. PS - Mai Thai that was also operating a take out operative from this same ghost complex after the kitchen fire and closure of their restaurant in downtown Boise announced earlier this month that they were leaving this ghost kitchen complex on July 27 and reopening in a Boise ghost complex. They didn't mention that the Meridian complex was being sold.

The generals chicken was soggy and perhaps it'd be better not to mix the sauce with the chicken, the other two dishes left something to be desired as far as I was concerned because the chicken pieces were too large like two slices and made vegetables were also large chunks. Overall flavor was acceptable. I guess the presentation was a biggest problem.

Never in my life have I ever walked out of a restaurant until this place. We ordered the egg roll (which is not a typical egg roll), it was huge with a lot of stuff inside it and was so big it could be an entree. That was the "better" item. We also ordered the spicy orange chicken. We could not figure out what parts of the chicken it was from, the meat looked so strange I honestly questioned if it was chicken. The breading was greasy & gross tasting (and I'm not opposed to greasy things). We had also ordered chow main at the same time as everything else, but after receiving our chicken dish & waiting 15 mins, we decided we wanted to just leave at that point. While we were waiting to try to get our check, the chef came out to go to the bathroom & his apron was disgustingly dirty. I'm scared of what the kitchen looked like if he was that dirty. When we got up to pay, we talked to the couple next to us & they agreed the place was terrible but they keep coming there (why?!). Writing this to try to save others from the disappointment (how is this a 3 star avg?).

He took our beverage order. The food: crab pops, they're supposed to be crab Rangoons. There wasn't any crab! They consisted of a quarter tsp of cream cheese and a piece of scallion. The chicken fried rice was soggy. The pot stickers were under cooked. The lemon chicken hardly had any lemon sauce . The egg rolls were huge but dry. The meal was awful. Our check wasn't itemized. This experience cost us $60.00. Within 30 minutes of leaving the restaurant my daughter was in the bathroom vomiting.

The rental company didn't give them an option to renew their lease. After 17 years, they are closing their doors without a choice. With closure comes choas. I remember when my family gave notice of our closure. We were chaotic from the time we announced it till the doors closed. Everyone is getting in their last hooray in. I anticipated that kind of madness when we stopped in for lunch today. And I was right, the place was a madhouse. When I have eaten here in the past, there was hardly anyone. It was just another table along with mine. It's always chill. Today on the other hand was pure madness. Tables were full of customers and dirty plates. I went ahead and sat myself and waited for my server. It took a minute for my server to get to me. She was the only one working so I just hung out till she got to me. Tea and menus were finally dropped off and I kicked it till my daughter showed up to have lunch with me. My daughter and I looked over the menu. Knowing it's our last meal at this joint, we decided to go ham. We both ordered soup, a lunch and I also snagged a tofu chow fun for later. My soup order was hot and sour. For lunch I went with your typical order of mandarin chicken, chow mein and pork fried rice. My daughter got won ton soup and beef with broccoli, fried rice and an egg roll. We waited for a hot minute for our food to be prepared. You can tell they were not staffed properly. Only one server with a whole dining room full of guests. I'm sure there were only a couple people working the kitchen trying to push out all of the orders coming in. Our soup did finally make it out. We both ordered small bowls but the bowl size was gracious. They were both hot and steamy. My hot and sour soup was ok. It wasn't really spicy but it did have a nice sour element to it. There were pieces of tofu, bamboo and carrots. It was thick and hearty but overall it was ok. My daughter's won ton soup was average. The broth was nice but there was not a lot of filling in the won ton. It was mainly won ton wrapper. And I found it odd that they put lettuce in the won ton soup. Lunch was dropped off shortly after we started working on our soup. When I placed my order, I had asked for fried rice with my meal. Server said it would be an extra charge and I figured it would be. My plate didn't have the fried rice. It only came with my chicken and chow mien. After I addressed my server about it, she looked completely lost. I got an "ok" and never saw her again. So, I just worked on what I had. The chicken was good. It was fresh this time around. I love the saltiness of the chicken with the sweet and sour sauce. The chow mien will always be one of my favorite dishes. It reminds me of my childhood, growing up at my uncle's Chinese restaurant and eating it all the time. I love when the crunchy noodles get all soft from the sauce. The bean sprouts are my favorite. The chow fun was really good. It was savory, the noodles were chewy and the tofu was perfectly fried. They will always have some of the best chow fun in town. I'm giving today's visit a 5 star but in reality it's truly a 3. I didn't get my rice, our server didn't really tend to our table and I had to get my bill adjusted for extra charges. I know the end of the road is coming soon for them but hopefully they will be able to prepare themselves for the next couple days because the choas will only get worse and clearly they need the extra hands. I wish these folks the best of luck with their future endeavors, whatever they may be. I'm happy I got one last meal in before doors are finally closed at the end of this month. Truly sad that another local joint will be just a fond memory for us now.

Most places have remodeled and taken out the charm and ambiance of restaurants making them stale. Lucky Palace still has that charm and evokes that feeling of being a kid, with your family, on a Friday night family date. I will say the food seems to be on the saltier side here, pretty consistently. And I am on the search for the best sweet and sour chicken in the valley, the chicken was overcooked on the sweet and sour and the sauce on the extreme sweet side. The one time I ordered generals chicken, it was a bit unmanageable to eat because of the salt. I never waste leftovers, I did not eat these leftovers because of the salt content. With that said, I think you can find some good things on the menu. We did enjoy the egg rolls (on the super greasy side), and my parents manage to find great options such as the Lo Mein. Give this a few tries and I do believe you can find a dish you will keep coming back for. Hidden in a strip mall type setup, you would never know it is there unless you are looking for it. I kind of like that. It feels hidden. Like a secret restaurant.
