In long 7 months ago, my lovely bride had a massive stroke, and we're still working to get her mobility back to where it needs to be. After so many lifeless months, anything to get her muscles moving (even if someone else does it) helps. We've been having trouble finding massage places that accept her insurance, at least for their massage therapists (it's often the chiropractor who takes it). We decided that since the prices AND the rating here were so good, we would pay out of pocket for one and see how it goes. It's not a new building, and even the parking lot itself feels kinda worse for wear. Inside, this place is quiet and dim. Very relaxing, as advertised. Some twinkling rope lights around the acoustic sub-ceiling. There's a squishy old couch in the waiting room, and some worn wall-to-wall underfoot. The private rooms are small, and there's slow soft piano music everywhere. Lights are low everywhere. We got her set up on a table under a sheet and Leia (I hope I spelled her name correctly) went to work. She had no special training in dealing with folks with neurological problems, but knew a million ways to move joints and get flexibility and movement back. We added the hot stone massage for her feet, so she spent 120 minutes on the table. By the end she was pure jelly, just happily smiling at the ceiling. With the extra half-hour, tax, and tip, it was about $180, which is twice what I expected to spend, but it was so worth it. Driving home, she had movement in her shoulder and hand that has not been there in 7 months. Pretty amazing. She's been getting tension headaches off and on for over a week now, too, and her neck and shoulders released all of that pressure. Her hair looked quite amusing, too. :-) In fact, the place is so good she wants to keep it to herself, and thought about asking me not to review it, because it has to be 5 stars, and she doesn't want it to get overbooked. I pointed out that she might not be the only one who needed massage for more than simple relaxation, though, and she immediately said we had to get the word out.

I've gone to Becky for waxing services for the past few months. She is conveniently located on a…read morequiet street just off the Speedway in Mukilteo, near the Whidbey Island ferry. Lots of street parking. Her spa room is located in a shared space - a couple different business owners have a room with a shared lobby area, but each treatment room is 100% private (and privately owned and operated). My appointments have always been in the evening after work during the week, so I am the only one ever there besides Becky. Her treatment room is warm and serene, with spa music gently playing and a nice heated blanket on her treatment table. I've done both sugaring and waxing with her, and she has great techniques for both. While it doesn't bother me personally, it is important to note this space is below a hair salon with wood floors - so don't be surprised if you hear loud, heavy footsteps once in awhile during treatment. It's not bothersome, just noticeable. Becky also carries some wonderful spa quality products for sale, including natural sunscreen, exfoliant, and my favorite - moisturizing hand sanitizer. She has a pump bottle of the sanitizer on her counter, you must try it! It smells wonderful and not at all like regular hand sanitizer that smells medicinal and dries skin out.

Haven't posted a review in a while and felt compelled to warn others…read more Any time my boyfriend and I are in Everett, we go to Lomi Lomi and will usually invite family or friends to join us from time to time and although there are flaws, we usually ignore it due to the kind and attentive masseuses. Unfortunately, today will be the last day that my boyfriend and I will be there. I'm unsure if who I had was new but the receptionist seemed to be my masseuse. She left the room 8 times during my 60 min. massage and when she got back to the room the second time, she had pressure on my calves and held it there and while doing that, I felt her other hand texting!!! Not only that, she asked me if I wanted medium or hard at the beginning of the massage and I asked medium. When I tell you that was no where close to what I wanted and was waiting to speak up to request her to go softer, she ups and leaves the room again to check people in or whatever she was doing. The massage felt rushed, rough and borderline disrespectful. I felt like a dirty laundry pile every time she moved my body to a certain area or threw the sheet back on to cover a part of my body. She didn't even ask if the hot stone was ok and she actually rubbed it on my back for less than 20 seconds rushing it through. THEN, when I laid on my back- she was so rough that the sheet kept on moving further and further down that my left nipple was almost exposed and she didn't even fix it!! All she said was, "all done. Thank you" and I fixed myself before she opened the door. She was like a person who is too good or have done this for too long that she got complacent and didn't care what was happening to the client. The best part? She kept asking for cash for discount which is fine and I told her I'm waiting for my boyfriend since he'll be paying. I didn't know my boyfriend went to the car to get cash but he told me he told her and she didn't explain anything and kept telling me to sit down to wait and the way she gestured it was like there was no trust. I told my boyfriend to tip $10 each (we usually tip $20 each) and when he handed her the $20 cash for 2 masseuse, she said "that's it? For 2 people?" Yes lol. What do you expect? Oh, and my boyfriend didn't even get hot stone. @Lomi Lomi- Every time we went here, we didn't mind the noises from people coming in or by neighboring stores. I'm unsure who this person is, but this needs to be fixed. The treatment, lack of etiquette, atmosphere and everything else was by far the worst experience we've ever had. What should be a peaceful and relaxing massage, was actually the most stressful and painful massage I've ever endured. Please train your staff better.

I had a pretty good experience here -- major complaint is that the "uniforms" they give you are not…read moresize inclusive (only up to a point) -- and they are hideous!! Luckily I did bring my yoga pants and they said it was fine for me to wear my own clothes in the meditation rooms. Normally I go to Olympus, but the last few times there it was so crowded and pretty dirty. Q is definitely a lot less crowded and much cleaner. Also, I went with a friend on a groupon which you should definitely check for as I have seen them offer these quite a bit. So process is -- you check in and they give you the "uniform" -- they only have up to size 2x and it is a small 2x IMO -- more like a 1x. It is a tshirt and shorts. They also give you your locker key. Q Spa is coED but they have separate bathrooms for men and women. They only thing coED is the meditation rooms, the common areas and the cafe. So, after paying and getting your uniform you proceed to your designated bathroom/changing room area. Your locker key has a number to show you which locker you are assigned to -- the spaces for the lockers are a little narrow, but not as much as Olympus. You can either change to your uniform or you can head straight to the pools. I like to do the mediation rooms before I get wet so after changing I headed back out to the common area. There is at least one meditation room on the ground floor but the majority of them are up stairs. I am not sure if there is an elevator for someone that is handicap? But they had a salt room, a chill room, a charcoal room and a sand room -- I love the meditation rooms. I guess the only weird thing is that there were men sitting in the common areas outside of the rooms just working on their laptops -- seems like a weird thing to do in a spa! So my friend and I spent about an hour and a half in the meditation rooms and then we were ready for the sauna, the steam room and the hot tubs! They have three different hot tubs of varying temps and a sauna and a steam room. In this gender segregated area, you remove your uniform -- so like Olympus you need to be comfortable in your own skin. It wasn't crowded at all (unlike olympus where you can be boob to boob with someone). My friend and I enjoyed this section of the spa -- it was very relaxing. We were starting to get hungry and noticed the cafe opens around 11am. So we got changed back to our uniforms and headed to the cafe. I love Korean food -- I can't recall what the dish was called but it was one of those stone bowl dishes where the food is still cooking in the very hot bowl. It wasn't quite as good as Olympus but it was still pretty yummy. Service was friendly and pretty quick too. I will definitely try Q Spa again.

That's exactly why this afternoon's visit was so disappointing. I stopped by to ask for a brief tour so my college-age houseguest, an international student, could see the space and decide whether to bring her friends. I've done this before with other guests and family members without issue. This time, the male staff member at the front flatly refused, saying tours are "only for paying customers" even after I explained I am one. The lobby was empty and quiet; there was no operational reason to say no. He was dismissive and looked me over in a way that felt judgmental, which left me embarrassed in front of my guest. The woman working alongside him was warm and professional, which only makes the contrast more striking. I've been coming here longer than some of the current staff, and I'd hoped that history would count for something, or at minimum, that basic courtesy would. I'm not writing this to cause trouble. I'm writing because I care about this business and want to understand how a simple request to show off a space you should be proud of turned into me apologizing to my guest for how we were treated.
