Great program. Really changed my life. It was hard at first, and I really wanted to quit. But in hindsight, that was just the avoidance talking. PTSD is all about avoidance. I'm glad I stuck with it. By the end of the first week, I was seeing a real change. And by the end of the second week....wow. I was me again. I've been out a year now, and I still have moments, but I can deal with them. I can live the life I want to live. If you commit, and do the work, the program works. read more

If you are a Veteran thinking about going to the Veterans Program at Emory, please DO NOT GO! Emory Veterans Program is doing a disservice to those who are looking for help. They are not looking out for what is best for the participants! The counselors at this program do not even begin to understand what the veterans have gone through! They are not former military or ones who have military experience. Counselors will penalize you for what is said in group if what you say does not agree with their civilian education and point of view. If you say something that they are not equipped to handle they will throw you out on the streets without any help, resources or compassion. In addition they will blame you for not complying with the program. Be careful on how you open up and do not share your struggles. In addition to all this, the counselors will discuss your issues in front of people who are not a part of your care team, compromising your reputation and confidentiality. If you have a real struggle, this is not the program for you. I truly encourage you to find someplace else to go because you will return worst than when you first went in. It is my understanding that this is not the first time they have done a disservice to the Veterans. Emory should be shut down, or at a minimum have a Director who is present and willing to do what is right for the patient... and if you go to the board of directors for help, they will continue to diminish your concerns and send you a $25.00 gift card at the end to compensate for your distress! On another note, they said that they will make the rules and regulations for the program a bit more clear to the participants... so be careful and make sure that you read everything before signing because their rules and regulations do not accommodate to the struggles of deployments, war and PTSD! I cannot say enough... please do yourself a favor and DO NOT GO THERE! read more

Previously I had reported that this facility had personnel whom were attempting to phish SMs for PIN. This is INCORRECT, and to my knowledge has not happened. The suspicious behavior that led me to believe phishing of PIN was the case was simply due to multiple serious inadequacies within the intake system of the program itself. If your conditions are not an emergency and/or only require minor counseling/group sessions (which in many situations can be helpful to SMs)- go for it. However, do not expect anything to happen rapidly. My initial application to the program occurred in May. It's now October at the time of this review and they have not been able to competently schedule an intake interview. I will not be continuing to seek treatment at this facility. If you need immediate MHC/psychiatric treatment, and are not getting it at your local VA Hospital then use this site: https://www.accesstocare.va.gov/PWT/SearchWaitTimes Find a full VA hospital with lower wait times that you can get to, and use their walk in hours at the MHC to request admission. There are multiple ways to go about this that you can find on the web. Hopefully, this can provide you with an additional treatment resource. read more

Don't count on getting your veteran any help with this fake service! They turned down my son and suggested he go back to the VA hospital. Well, you know all about their crappy and rudeness toward our Vets! He has been there. First it took two months to get an appointment. Once there he sat for two hours waiting to see the doctor while the lady at the front desk talked on the phone regarding her plans for the weekend. My husband walked up to her to see how much longer and she ignored him! Therefore he just stood there and stared at him! This so called program from Emory is just a farce! My son suffers from anxiety and depression but the Emory person told him to go back to the VA! Very frustrated trying to get help for my son! He can't work and doesn't go out but stays in his room. He has no life! read more

Excellent program. They went above and beyond to make sure that every one of my needs were met. The doctors and clinicians were very knowledgeable and did a great job at interacting with me during our telehealth sessions. I would definitely recommend this program. read more
