I've had some good experiences here. Always fun to paint with my work friends, and we've done several paintings. Some instructions are better than others. Some can't paint the painting to look like the 'model' painting and aren't helpful with technique. It's a crap shoot based on who you get. They are all nice. I was there 2 days ago, and the experience was fun with my group. Today I am so disappointed. My niece and I were so excited to do the Eiffel Tower painting because we've just been to Paris together, and the silhouettes in the painting look like us. We've been telling everyone we were doing it and have been planning for 3 weeks. At 2:00 today they let me know not enough people signed up and they canceled the class. We are so bummed. Maybe they wouldn't have made a lot of money tonight, but they lost all of our future business. I'm sadly looking for new places to paint. read more

I love doing sip and paint so I was excited to have a date night with my husband here. I have a whole art gallery in my house of our work over the years. So you can imagine how offended I was when I asked Joseph to simply help me with the eyes and the lips and he said "Don't worry about it I'll just give you my painting". The audacity to offend me. So much fun! My husband and I came here for a date night. They are the only place I've seen that offers a date night/BFF option where each person paints 1/2 of the painting and when you put them together it makes 1 cohesive painting. It's a great option! That have a drink cart available as you are not allowed to bring your own alcohol. They also offer small snacks like chips and cookies. Although we were painting the whole 2 hours so I'm not sure when I would have had time to eat food. Our instructor was fabulous! She explained each step clearly and made it very comfortable to ask questions along the way. We walked away very happy with our final painting. I'll definitely consider coming back to this location if they have another painting I like! read more

Very organized and The owners are super amazing and always friendly when I come, they really have a genuinely heart and care about every customer that comes through the door. The painters are also amazing and take the time to joke around, have fun, and be patient with you. ANDDDD guess what...???!! They have an option for you to purchase snacks and drinks for a small reasonable fee OR you can bring your own food which is also a plus. The snacks were more convenient for me and my boyfriend because when you are painting it's really hard to concentrate on eating lol. I will definitely be back for the experience alone. Since being quarantined to the house and not being able to participate in many things for my bonus daughter's birthday, we decided to have the painting with a twist effect at home! So much fun! I've never done anything like this before and loved it. The only downside was the music was either too loud or the microphone of the instructor was too quiet. It was very hard to hear direction and the pace was a little fast. Sometimes the instructor was 3-4 steps ahead of the rest of the class. I didn't get to put finishing touches on mine that I wanted to do because they were closing. I also think the tools need a little adjustment. Need to have a fine small brush for some detail and maybe even some sponges. Also, if I remember correctly kids weren't supposed to be in the class, but since we did have kids in our class, the music should've been adjusted. There were several songs with profanity. Overall it was a fun experience and I think I did pretty well for my first time. I will definitely do this again. read more

Had such a great experience here! We came in and everything was already set up and ready to go. Ray was a great instructor with lots of energy and talent. She encouraged us to ask questions if we had them. She periodically checked to make sure everyone was keeping up, and she would slow down if needed. The owner or manager were come in the room to see how everyone was doing and refill paint for anyone who needed it. We took a short break about halfway through so you can get snacks or drinks from their bar and run to the restroom. Great experience, will definitely be back! read more

Typically, I love these activities but today's fell short. #1- the person leading our painting didn't seem to have any idea what she was doing. She had a model painting but continued to tell us she was having us do something different. She told us she teaches painting at her day job... toddlers through age 12. #2- one of the cool parts of these places is BYOB however; halfway through another teacher told us we couldn't bring our own because it was against the city/county rules and we'd have to buy there's. #3- we had to go get paint from the instructor vs just having the paint set up at the back of the room. A bit annoying because I kept having to go back, over and over, because they dispensed so little at once. I won't return to this location for another painting because it wasn't led well, the concept is lost when you have to purchase their wine, and I just was generally not impressed. read more

Such a fun time out! Went with my mom to the Gilmore Girls trivia and painting event and it was a blast. I loved that they had a theme and combined the trivia with the regular painting. We painted a screen which was something I had never done before. They had a bar with candy and wine and soda for sale with pretty decent prices. It felt like a pretty good number of people. It was sold out but didn't feel too crowded. We had such a fun time and I would definitely recommend it even if you aren't an artist- I am certainly not- but it's still fun! read more

Had lots of fun, teacher gave plenty of time to paint. They don't limit the amount of paint you get and are really encourage creativity. The better you want to see the earlier you need to get there. Opportunities for growth: 1. Demonstrating more techniques (i.e More direction on how to get certain effects in your painting) 2. Brushes would sometimes split into two points which makes it a little harder to paint. Overall had a great time. read more

A nice place And we had a good time however my issue is with their payment policy. Paid in advance for 13 people because we were told we could not "add" people after the fact. When we showed up with unfortunately two people couldn't make it and we were told there would be no refunds. Painting with a twist is my favorite chain of painting classes! They have the best selection of pictures and I love their themed trivia nights. I will say that I wish they would change the questions when they do repeat themes...I went to 2 harry potter trivias and the questions were exactly the same both times. This place is so fun! Apparently Alpharetta doesn't let you bring your own alcohol so they have a bar set up in there which is awesome!! My friend and I went for the Harry Potter theme and they had live orchestra music. It was such fun and even though I live in Woodstock I would be happy to drive over there again for the specific location. read more

We did a corporate team building event there and the feedback I received from my team was nothing short of exemplerary. Painting with a twist has an amazing staff and great group of artists. Half of our group did 'paint your pet' which I would HIGHLY recommend. It was so fun and our pictures turned out SO WELL! You send your photo ahead of time and a talented artist sketches it out prior to your arrival on canvas. Outside of the great painting experience, the owners and staff who were on hand were fantastic. Their entire goal was to ensure the team was having a great time, and we were! I would highly recommend Painting with a Twist for anything from a fun date night to renting out the entire studio for a team building event. Booked a class (special treat) for family member and myself online. Would have been our first class at this art studio. We were very, very excited. They emailed to switch our time from 4:30 to 7:00 because of "staff issues" and if we were NOT ok with that to let them know. Get an email next day refunding our money and stating if we wanted to sign up again to do so. Phoned them and got a very snotty female who stated "I should have phoned them and I should have known to phone them to confirm we were still coming "because "everyone else did". They claimed they called me to verify the class, but no one called me. Extremely poor customer service and snotty attitude...no thanks. Will take my money and business somewhere else. read more

Not my favorite painting studio. Came tonight for the blue ridge mountain sunset picture. Instructor rushed through painting, didn't thoroughly explain tips and techniques. Sang along instead of instructing through a tougher painting. Walked away with a painting I'm not happy with and I know for a fact that I'm not the only one with a painting I'm not pleased with. Didn't explain how to blend the paint, make the mountains or trees very well. Gave directions but then did different things on her canvas and the example painting looked amazing and the one she did didn't look like it. Felt very rushed while painting and will have to try and recreate it on my own at home. Not pleased with this experience. read more

This studio provided us with a clean, well lit and roomy area in which to work. The instructor was friendly, relatable, and well-qualified to teach the class. The owners were eager to help and quite fun to talk with. There are thousands of paintings to choose from, and all the possibilities for classes, date nights, and family times were made known to us. I had come to the studio the month previous for a Ladies' Night Out event with my employer and then again this month with my husband for a date. Each time, I felt like I got more out of the experience than the cost of the class might have otherwise entailed. I'm very happy with my time spent there and will be back again. read more
