Tiny little joint, immediately greeted. 4 tables inside, salsa bar to serve yourself. You definitely don't go for the ambiance. The food how is delicious, that is the real star. We had ordered a taco salad and a burrito. Both are fantastic and priced accordingly. I'd say this is as close to what I'm use to getting in southern AZ as possible. I can't say it's bad this place has a following and has been in business awhile. I do know it's more in the Spanish cooking and flavor side that the traditional Mexican places I have been. It kinda reminds me of Honduran style food. Not my liking but it seems to be liked by a good bit of people. So give them a try if your into different Latino flavors. read more

Love the food but just left from getting a pick up order and no one was wearing a mask. The front counter employee, the cook, and two people at a table (not eating).... none had masks on or even in sight. Mentioned it and was told I can wear a mask if I want. If you can't do the bare minimum to protect your costumers then I will not be back. I'd prefer not to get sick eating your food. Quick review for a quick lunch - stepped in with a colleague for a brief bite to eat during a midday training break. Ordered the Chicken and Beef Empanadas - can't beat the price. Well cooked and crispy on the outside - mildly seasoned in the inside - leaving room for individual tastes to raise the temperature as desired. so disappointe! we ordered chicken fajitas. The chicken was overcooked and squishy, they did not include cheese, pico de Gallo or lettuce. The wraps were spongy, raw, and even a person with no taste to tell it wasn't a taco shell. The caso was spicy and too hot to eat. it wouldn't cool down. My husband got the veggie burrito and it was not anything like we remembered. The chips that came with the caso was stale and over cooked. We had to use our own caso and chips we had in pantry to enjoy. we should have taken the red flag that no one was in restaurant at dinner time/rush hour. it was overpriced and we are very disappointed. We ordered shrimp tacos at the onset of the Covid lockdown and they were great! Each taco had 4-5 decent size shrimp with just enough toppings in perfectly cooked tortillas and they were warm and juicy. Tonight, not so great; we ordered the 2 gourmet taco meal and the 3 gourmet taco meal for around $27. Each shrimp taco only had 4-5 small size shrimp (51-70 count), too much red slaw & pico and it was dry. The fish in the fish tacos were very dry, although it did have a better helping of fish than the shrimp tacos. The tortillas however in both meals were rubbery and they were not warm. The side of Spanish rice was fluffy with a decent flavor. The refried beans had an ok flavor but were the consistency of watery mashed potatoes. This experience was very different from our first so I am hoping it was just an off night for seafood tacos. SO We'll probably give them one more shot before writing them off. read more

I can say I've had just about everything on the menu here and it is phenomenal! Colombian food in the heart of Madisonville really helps diversify the seafood town, and Empa Taco provides a counter service experience that's quick and efficient. I like to order Togo usually, and I'll order online before hand. They even give you an option to pay when you get there. The Cuban sandwich is a must have, along with of course the empanadas. Guau! This place is absolutely fresh and delicious. Their menu is so unique and customizable. I have a soy allergy, and they use olive oil, so it was a real treat to actually be able to eat in a fun restaurant like a normal person - ha! There were 11 of us, and they were patient with our questions and helpful with ordering. Every single one of us thoroughly loved what we ordered. Those were the best fish tacos I have ever had, and we now live in Austin, TX, so that's saying something! The tortilla chips we're crisp and not greasy and the arepa was fought over between me and my friend! We also enjoyed a carne asada and a shrimp taco. I liked the shrimp taco better. It just had great flavor and made you want 1-2 more. But we had so much food on the table that we didn't dare order more. We absolutely ate everything! Just a side note: the is a pizza place next door and we were allowed to go there and get daquris and bring them back to enjoy with our meal since this is an alcohol free establishment.
