Sal was extremely professional in sending out their repair person. However, the person who came…read morewas very unfriendly. When I asked him to wear a mask, he refused. When I asked him to check if there was a leak of gas from my furnace, he said everything is in good working condition and there are multiple safety measures to prevent any leak. But when I asked how to be sure there is no leak, he said that is a second step to measure with a meter and it will cost another $89. In any event, I didn't find him to be friendly and helpful to rule out my initial complaint. I did not opt for the second step. No second step for diagnosis was informed by Sal earlier. That said, I guess I must give the business a 5-star rating based on the professional scheduling and followup of the appointment. "One swallow doesn't make a summer' or "one bad day" is not a true reflection of the company. I am changing my rating at Sal's text request personally. It's only changed because I can understand Sal's concern as a businessman. He offered me free service in return but I declined it again. He got me wrong completely. My changed rating is only for the professionalism shown by the reception desk and their follow-up. It is not for the changed picture Ron gave that I asked if Ron wanted me to wear a mask. Who would ask that in one's own house? I was wearing my mask thoughout the encounter. As a 65+ year-old, I must be cautious. I don't need a service person's permission to wear a mask inside my house. Unbelievable. But I thought I must clarify to Sal's reply. Thanks Sal for your prompt response. But, isn't that a courteous way to ask ? - "You might want to wear a mask". He saw I was wearing one and he was entering my residence. Yes, I could have insisted but I think that is rude. Secondly, my complaint was "gas leak" and hence, the request to send someone from your company. I am not disputing any diagnosis. I just placed it before you, so it doesn't happen again.. I don't want any money back either. Service was rendered and I accept your company's policy. However, I thank the reception desk for immediately scheduling the appointment the same day. It was highly professional, including the update they followed up with. I commend you for that. Anyways, thanks for your immediate response. Much appreciated

Where is Empathy today? All he needed was a $160 fan which they were charging $1200 for, plus labor. Shame on this business. I know they need to make a living, but jeez, this is over the top. And with the $200 call out charge for absolutely no help at all, he got screwed.

I called LeafFilter because our gutters, downspouts and pipes to the road were getting clogged with…read moreleaves and debris. LF is also local and the founder is a UA graduate. The salesman, Matt, came quickly on February 15, 2020. He promised the moon and quoted a high price. I pointed out the senior discount and published discount. I finally got him down to $4,999 for 175 feet of gutters. The LF team started work on February 18 and ended the next day. Three separate installers performed the work. These guys looked like they could barely handle the job, and I heard one muttering and swearing about his task. I believe they installed hidden supports, but I never saw them use sealants to repair end caps or downspout elbows. This was not an overly careful repair of existing gutter issues - just capping and screwing in the screens on top of the gutters. I monitored the screens after they were installed. I have tall maple trees in back. The first maple droppings were the reddish buds that stuck to the top of the screens in bunches. Then there were those stringy maple droppings and, finally, the whirly gigs. All of this detritus stuck to the top of the screens. I did not have an overflow until a long downpour in May. It occurred from a valley in a peak on the front of the house (this is a typical Prestige home), and debris had clogged the screens in a gutter corner under the valley. I called my former gutter cleaner, and he swept the filters and roof for $300. I note that my Lifetime LF Warranty promises that my LF system will not allow "the interior of [my] gutter to clog with debris causing [my] gutter to fill with water and overflow..." That's true! The screen is so fine that nothing is getting into the gutter, but water is still overflowing the stuck debris on the exterior. I still need a gutter cleaner to clean the maple tree debris, but the downspouts are clear and running (if the water can get through to the inner gutter). Accordingly, I am partially satisfied with the system, but would have paid half as much if I had known that is was not a complete solution to overflowing gutters. I attach photos of the gutters from April and May to show that the maple tree droppings did not dislodge and remained stuck to the filters.

HORRIBLE! PICK ANOTHER COMPANY In 2021, Universal Windows…read moreDirect installed 32 windows in my home. We selected the company because we were told multiple crews would be assigned to complete the project quickly. After signing the contract and paying the deposit, we were informed only one crew would be assigned and the installation would take longer than promised. The installation experienced numerous issues, including an incorrect window being installed, missing materials, extended delays, and concerns regarding insulation. Shortly after installation, we noticed significant drafts, increased insect intrusion, and substantially higher heating and cooling costs. A service technician later inspected the installation and immediately identified that the windows had not been properly shimmed, there were gaps around the installations, and no insulation had been installed. Universal Windows Direct sent another crew to address the issue by drilling holes into the window frames and injecting insulation rather than removing and reinstalling the windows. Caulking was also redone. Following extensive discussions regarding the installation deficiencies and increased utility costs, the company provided a $5,000 credit. While these repairs improved some issues, they did not resolve the underlying problems. Over the following years, we continued to experience drafts, elevated heating and cooling costs, and poor window performance. During the winter of 2025-2026, temperature measurements near several windows showed differences exceeding 25 degrees from the home's thermostat setting. In one instance, with the thermostat set at 68 degrees, the temperature near a window measured approximately 42 degrees. A subsequent inspection by another technician identified insufficient insulation around the windows and air leakage associated with prior repair methods. Additional temporary repairs were proposed, but I declined because previous temporary solutions had failed to correct the installation deficiencies. After escalating the matter, I was informed that management had approved a comprehensive correction involving removal and reinstallation of the affected windows. However, when the scheduled crew arrived, they stated they had no documentation regarding the work, no materials had been ordered, and no repairs could be completed. They instead documented the issues and left. Since January 2026, I have repeatedly contacted Universal Windows Direct seeking implementation of the approved corrective work. Multiple appointments have been scheduled, inspections have been performed, measurements have been taken repeatedly, and management has acknowledged communication failures and delays. Despite these efforts, no corrective installation work has been completed. In addition to ongoing energy loss and comfort issues, we also experienced a ceiling leak that was attributed to an improperly sloped window installation. Nearly five years after the original installation, the windows remain improperly installed, utility costs continue to be impacted, and the company has not completed the corrective work it previously approved. I have participated in more than nine service visits and worked with multiple technicians and installation crews in an effort to obtain a proper resolution.
