Adorable little empanada spot i found about 10 minutes away from me. With a huge variety of flavors i was excited. I ended up getting about 8 empanadas for my bf and I to share. I don't remember all the flavors we tried but they were philly cheesesteak, cuban, beef, chicken, chicken and cheese, gauva and cheese, and a few others. They were all pretty delicious to be totally honest. The philly cheese steak was a little lack luster but the others were awesome. The shop was super cute and they had a machine to heat and crisp the empanadas up before you left with them. They were delicious. The price per empanada was s little higher then most places so thats why I left off 1 star. I would love to go back and try a bunch of other flavors and update my review. read more

So I'm going to keep this review short an sweet. The idea of this place is amazing and I love the quirky name . However, empanadas could not possibly be their specialty. Their empanadas have little to no flavor(except chorizo which is a very seasoned pork sausage by itself). The crust is very tasty, & I genuinely believe they should become a pastry shop. read more

Found this place by chance during a random afternoon stroll through montclair. I have been craving empanadas for a while and couldnt find a place so they was perfect timing. I was initially disappointed they dont have a shrimp empanada which is always my go to but I settled for the chicken. I got 1 normal chicken, a buffalo chicken and a nutella banana. I gave the chicken away so not sure how it was. I did however, have the buffalo and nutella one. The buffalo chicken empanada had fried chicken in it with buffalo sauce. I enjoyed it. I actually recommend it as the empanadas were a little drier than your typical ones you get elsewhere that has sauce inside or just juicier meat. So I feel the added buffalo sauce gave it that slight kick to make it decent. Next was the nutella and banana. Again was rather dry as it appeared the banana overpowered the nutella. Overall pretty decent trip. Not the best empanadas I've had but will do. read more

Been craving empanadas lately. These were pretty good. The fillings were nicely balanced and didn't taste heavy. The philly cheesesteak, chorizo and potato, cuban and guava cream cheese all tasted like they're supposed to. I'd pass on the nutella banana though. Sounds like it should work but didn't. Saw the cute sign and exterior, had to pop in. We ordered the Philly cheesesteak empanada and the guava and cheese empanada. The dough was so golden and flaky and each filling was just right. We typically make our own empanadas at home, so we hesitated to try it at first. However for the creative fillings and convenience, it's not bad! You can grab your empanadas to go, or sit at their tables/ people watch by the window. Came here for a quick to go bite after church down the block. This is a no frills, super casual spot with seating available inside or orders to go. The dough is also baked and not fried. The pastry is still incredibly flakey but it's not going to satisfy your craving if you're looking for a more authentic flavor. Randomly came in here on a day out, and was pleased! The counter girl was so nice and insightful, and there are loads to pick from! Also one option even had vegan cheese!! Alright, let me say this. I consumed my empanadas rather quickly. Partly because I skipped breakfast and lunch today, and I am fast level starving. It's also because these flaky, heavenly meat pastries are not very filling. But, that just means you need to buy double the amount you think you do. I was looking to try the cheese and shrimp, but I did not see it on the menu. I grabbed a cheese empanada along with a beef and cheese and a chicken. These were like French pastries with golden flakes that melt in your mouth, but they are stuffed with choice ingredients. They're seasoned and not bland. Now, one thing they really nailed here is their own specialty "hot sauce". Everyone does this these days, and it's usually awful or a very mayo/ketchup kind of thing that just doesn't impress. This was unique. Like, they could market the hot sauce alone and put it in Trader Joe's and Wegman's. It almost looks like a tropical flavored Mike and Ike - a kind of orangey pink. I try not to be too generous with my full 5 stars, but this place has the curbside aesthetic going with the thoughtfully painted corbels and traditional molding. It's appealing. Then, you walk in, and the general impression is cleanliness. Sleek, modern and very crisp, clean presentation. Then, they are genuinely nice. Not fake. Not phony. Definitely not disinterested. They are attentive and really helpful. I thought I might have to wait awhile. I sat down and checked in on my phone, and I heard my name being called! Wow! That was fast. Came here in mid-June on a Sunday for a take-out order of empanadas. Overall, I have to say that they were tasty (and baked, not fried) but there was not really much filling in any of them. Their dipping sauce is amazing and the rest of the fillings I've had are pretty good. Wish they had a pulled pork one, and maybe some more whacky flavors every once in a while. This was my first time there. I wasn't sure what to get, so I decided to go with the combo (2 empanadas and a soda). Choosing my flavors proved extremely difficult. With this, I chose 2 chorizo empanadas. For a shop, they were absolutely amazing. The sauce that comes with them (optional), really complemented the empanadas. Driving down Bloomfield ave me and my friend saw this spot and decided to try it. After searching for parking we parked and walked in and saw an array of empanadas. I tried the buffalo chicken and beef and my friend had the spinach/feta and chicken empanadas. 4 empanadas and two drinks around $17 bucks! Empanadas filling was decent and Luke warm because they were probably zapped in a microwave. Crust wasn't crispy like a traditional empanada and not flaky at all. I am all about customer service and I got that as soon as I walked in the door! I was able to taste the Eggplant Parm, Spinach ad Feta, as well as the Buffalo Chicken Empanadas and they were all amazing!
