Translated from the Spanish meaning small cut, it refers to a strong, Cuban-style espresso drink. It's essentially a small, sweet version of a Spanish cortado, and it's made with a high sugar content and a touch of milk, typically 1:1 espresso to hot milk. Located on Washington Avenue in Belleville, customers are greeted by the portrait of musical icon Celia Cruz aptly proclaiming ¡Azucar! behind the pastry counter's tart pastelitos de guayaba y queso and quesitos of the newly renovated next door to the old one with a warm and inviting vibe at Cortaditos. As my partner and I were invited for a celebration, we decided to get a dozen of the Guava Pastellitos as well as the Meat Pastellito and Ropa Vieja Empanada. These were small, flaky pastries filled with a sweet and savory filling. They are a popular Cuban treat, often enjoyed for breakfast, snack, or dessert. The meats were tasty and richly flavored. The empanadas were baked and not greasy. These guava pastelitos were a big part of my childhood. The staff were friendly and attentive. The price was reasonable for the area. For a first-timer to the new location, it won't be the last, as I can recommend it.

Vegan Cubano is nice. Typically a lot of ice served in my Morir soando. No vanilla extract added but could've been nice. Prices kinda high but fits w area. Staff might not be familiar w English but there is a toast tablet w explanations of various items. Cereal drink- con-trigo which maybe should be trigo con. Pay 20 extra for a half hour to park or come here randomly were my choices lol

Lovely spot to stop by for a coffee! We did go here in hopes of doing work and it was super hot inside so that was the only "downside" but the service was great and the drinks were incredible. The food wasn't half bad either. I'd def come back in the winter or sometime their big windows are open!!

Woke up hungry and wanted a café con leche and the boo wanted a Cuban pastelito de carne so I was on the search for a good Cuban bakery. Stopped by and was not disappointed. Would def return. I ordered a ham and cheese sandwich and he got the Cuban and loved it. Personally I would ask that they press my sandwich longer but that's just my preference. The chicken empanadas were delish! He loved all the empanadas so don't think you can go wrong with any. I saw someone walk out with this drink and had to find out what it was. A frozen cafe con leche. DELICIOUS. GET IT. I got it sweetened and there was an option to add a flavor. Only upset I got a small size just in case I wouldn't like but now I know. Cool little cafe/bakery with the option to sit or take items to go. Quick and friendly service.

We walked in and everyone was very welcoming. We asked about the upstairs and they told us we could go up. The wall decor was beautiful. It was a cute set up however, the tables were left dirty and had cups from prior customers . So I basically moved them to the counter , was able to sit and enjoy my cafe con leche and quesito. They had cute little cups and the quesito was delicious. I think they need someone checking on the people upstairs or at least cleaning up. Overall I'll come back especially when it gets warmer for the little patio area they have .

Loved the ice coffee and the Cuatro Tres Leches. The Tres Leches was sweet and delicious. The inside was very pretty and they have a table setting where you can sit outside which I hope to do as it gets warmer. I learned the upstairs area was beautiful from the friends I was with but didn't get to see it yet but will do. My friend enjoyed the cuban sandwich and I am eager to try more food and drinks there. The staff and servers were also very kind. I am very happy that this is near the area I live and hope to come again for breakfast or lunch again soon. :)

I heard there's an upstairs opened, but it was closed when I was there maybe they're renovating.

I went to the beauty supply store across the street which by the way is very good. I discovered this little place and it was awesome. I am half Cuban so it was a little bit of Cuba in there. They just need to hire more people behind the counter because service is really slow. Their coffee is great. Their café con Leche is amazing. It's a must try for sure.

What I actually got and half of that top is all Foam :(

I am a frequent customer at this place and have never been disappointed until today :( I ordered their frozen cafe con Leche and to say it came up short would be to say the least in all aspects my cup was filled half way without any top of dressings no whip no caramel topping nothing as pictured ! And I made sure to put my add-ons Very highly disappointed and I'm Hoping in the future that this doesn't go on because they really are one of the only Cuban establishments that serve good food! Coffee however not the best which is even sadder being that it's one of the biggest parts of our culture

I got the pollo empanada and I liked it. The service was great. And I liked the atmosphere. I loved the empanada the recipe is great. I had to run to get something fast for breakfast cause I was quite busy today & this was a great break fast. First thing in the morning. Delicious! P.s - I loved the condiment.

What can be said that already hasn't?! Great coffee, speedy service even though they are constantly packed. Love their empanadas. The quesitos (sweet cheese flaky pastry), the cubano, the croissants, etc etc. Just go and you'll be sure to ENJOY!!!

Do I have to preorder the tres leches cake?

No, they sell tres leches by the slice. If you want a larger tree leches cake you'd have to order it.

I honestly need way more than just five stars …read more.. Made a reservation for 5pm . Showed up at 4:25 , waited about 5 minutes and they accommodated us right the way . ( place was packed and busy ) . Service is definitely a 10 out of 10 from the minute with walk in the door . Beautiful decor , friendly and welcoming hostess . We were seated and right the way a gentleman named Mathias came to serve us , what an amazing personality , friendly , knowledgeable of the menu , efficient.. I can just keep on going . We were also helped by a lady named Jenny whom I found out later is the manager of the place . She even got me a special hook/stand to hang my pocketbook instead of leaving on the floor . The food was ordered and served within 30 minutes , to cooked to perfection. We had the Chuleta / pina . Pork chops with pineapple and caramelized onions , pollo rumbero - chicken with prosciutto and cheese in a white sauce , and boiled yucca . Food was spectacular, complements to the chef , table was always clean and service was beyond outstanding from beginning to end . Team work , great atmosphere, great food . Can't ask for anything better !!! Oh, and the was a drink called el guayabero , made from guava poured and rum that is to die for ... If you're in the area I would definitely recommend this amazing experience . Thank you Mathias , Jenny and the rumba Cubana staff for making it a great night ..

My husband ordered a chicken empanada and it was filled with chicken and rice and not fully fried. When I asked the server to fry it some more, she brought a new one out that was a bit more fried but just as pale as the first one. The inside was not tasty at all and it was definitely not colombian. Then there was the stale Colombian beef empanadas. These were probably the worst of all. We also ordered a bread that we asked if it was filled with cheese, the server said yes....and it had ham and cheese, so my son did not eat it. This could've just been a miscommunication, but most places tend to clarify when it is not just cheese, but also includes something else with it. The menu is very small, so I decided to order a burger which was made with pulled beef and was actually delicious. They also have Colombian style scrambled eggs and coffee which my husband liked. If it's just based on food I would say it was 50/50 your chances of getting something tasty, but because the service was not attentive or friendly (we were the only people in the cafe for awhile), it is not a place I would return to. Maybe it was just an off day?

The footlong Philly cheese steak was very good and you can share that with two people because it's big! Unless you're super hungry! The owner let me record him making an espresso and that was really cool! I highly recommend you try this coffee shop.

Fantastic bakery, wow!…read more I recently stumbled upon this bakery when searching for places that open early. I had to pick up some treats for my client meetings that day. The bakery is very clean and nicely decorated. I was thrilled to see the variety of items they had. I ended up going back the next morning for myself since my clients were giving such good feedback. I'm a savory girl so I my eyes lit up when I saw they had empanadas, ham croissants, etc. They also have AMAZING fresh pastries. I had the chance to taste the Bavarian cream pastry fresh out of the oven and WOW, just wow. They bake the empanadas so they taste light and delicious. I really enjoyed the chicken, beef and spinach one. However, those were the only ones I've tried lol. I also like their iced coffee. The prices are excellent! A dozen pastries for $9 - what a steal! The empanadas are under $2 each. Overall I'm now obsessed with this place and will be going back often.

Especially when you are not in the mood for your own cooking and you just feel like grabbing something to eat instead. It's a small baut nice bakery. A little bit of a fast paced environment. Not too bad but quick. Everything there looked absolutely delicious! We wanted to order everything but alas our time in tje line ended and we had to choose. So we ordered a few empanadas, pastries and coffee. Everything we ordered was delicious but I have to say my favorite savory was the Beef empanadas. Perfectly seasoned and crunchy on the outside. The pastries soft with the sweetness of the dulce de leche. Now their coffee to me personally I've had better. I fell like the food and pastries make up for the coffee. I still fell in love with this place. Isn't a cozy home away from home type of vibe. Wish we didn't live in Orlando so I can become a regular here but what can I do?
