If I could give them ZERO stars I would! You spend THOUSANDS of dollars and expect a company to live up to their service plan. Empire has done anything but that. I filed a claim in February of 2025 and here we are almost in May and I still do not have any resolution. All we need is for one plank to be replaced. I call, get put on hold for up to 30 minutes, leave messages, leave my number to have someone call me back, and no one ever does. I've sent photos, followed everything in the service plan, only to have to then file a dispute because after finally getting ahold of someone, unbeknownst to me my claim got denied. Why? Natural wear and use. We've only had our floors close to 3yrs! How does only one plank in the middle of the living room get the corner broken? Looking back I wish we never would have went with Empire Today. They are way overpriced, I can only assume some planks were not properly installed for this to happen, who knows now if others will break, the trim along the baseboards are cheap, and the installers never cleaned before they left. Customer service is a joke and at this point it feels like they are hoping I'll just stop calling...DO NOT use this company!! Save your money and time.

Do not use this company to install your flooring. We puchased all new flooring for our home downstairs. Company was suppose to install a particular type and color of flooring and day before our scheduled install, they called at 3-4 pm in the afternoon to say it wasn't in stock and they could install something else or we could wait 6 weeks (ish) for what we originally wanted to come in. It was 2 weeks before Christmas, we had already boxed up our stuff, removed wall hangings and moved furniture. So we agreed to go with what they had in stock although not my first choice. The install process took 2-3 days which we expected. Fast forward to after one year and we have multiple loose planks and two really bad spots. Product supposedly has a lifetime warranty but only one year warranty on installation. They want $250 to come out and look at floor to determine whether it was product or installation that is the issue. They also said if they get out here and pull some pieces up to assess, we will be responsible for paying for replacement product and installation. Such a scam company. Buyer beware. I learned my lesson the hard way.

This was the color flooring I was supposed to get using their visualizer.

I love my new laminate floors! The installers were professional and very skilled. They even cleaned up before they left.

Edit on June 16: We are still awaiting resolution on a couple of issues with two of the shades. We…read moreshared the issues immediately after install. Spoke to Hunter Douglas directly and they said they would remake and needed the store to reach out. Waiting for resolution from the store. The review below was written with the trust that the store is working on it and hope it will be resolved soon as it has been a couple of months since the install. We purchased Hunter Douglas shades from JP Flooring and are very happy with our new shades. These are investment items for the house that we use everyday, so we didn't take the decision lightly. After a lot of research and talking to a few local dealers, we felt in the right hands with Stefanie. She never rushed us - she was always patient with questions and very knowledgeable about the product; she helped guide us and listened to our needs. This is a big store, but they have good people there who care about their customers. The experience we had was nothing short of white glove. We have recommended them to family and friends.

Extremely disappointing experience with JP Flooring. Run, Don't Walk Away…read more We hired them to extend and match our existing hardwood floors but were only shown a small handful of prefinished options that did not truly match. After installation, we later learned there were many post-finished/custom options available that should have been discussed from the beginning. Unfortunately, the installation quality was also very poor: * Damaged boards * Incorrect cuts * Damage to our original threshold board * Incomplete trim work around the fireplace * Uneven floor boards * Poor communication throughout the process We even paid for furniture moving, yet only one installer initially arrived, and I ended up helping move heavy furniture myself while recovering from triceps surgery. To JP Flooring's credit, the inspector they later sent acknowledged many of the problems. However, even the written repair summary initially left off one of the biggest unfinished items until we called it out ourselves. There are also uneven areas in the floor, and even JP Flooring's own reviewer stated they "may" settle over time because the baffles do not always line up properly, not exactly reassuring for a newly installed hardwood floor. At this point, we are still trying to get the situation corrected properly. Very frustrating experience overall, especially given the cost and expectations associated with professional hardwood flooring work.

UPDATE: boards were replaced & small credit applied but only after significant effort on our part…read more We cannot recommend Floor Coverings International if you want a company that corrects installation issues beyond using a floor marker to mask installer-caused scrapes. Be prepared to advocate & fight for what you were promised before settling for a poorly done project. After installation, we pointed out several concerns, including scratches & divots (expected in construction, & sales assured us they'd take care of any issues). Many were fixed with floor markers we were willing to look past; however, two areas had deep scratches from the installer carelessly dragging furniture & the bathroom sink. Having given their initial "easy" fix a shot, we requested those boards be replaced. We waited 1.5 weeks between each requested remedy & only got responses after proactively following up a week later. We were given a repair date to replace the boards. The day before (a Sunday), the office called to say the installer had a time conflict (typical for him; he never arrived on time once, often arriving after 12-1pm). She also shared that the day before returning, he claimed he wouldn't do the sink area without a plumber removing & reinstalling the sink--at our expense. We were over a month into this project with zero mention of plumber/spacing issues. During sales, our bathroom was evaluated & sales reassured us there'd be no issues & that they handle that in most installs. When we challenged the extra cost, we were simply told "it's in the contract." That might be acceptable if identified earlier, but he installed the floor fine the first time & made no mention until the day before returning--a month after we raised concerns about scratches in that spot. After another 1.5 weeks, a new installer was scheduled. He easily handled the bathroom repair without a plumber but didn't have enough boards for the second scratch--despite the office & sales team inspecting it & having photos showing the required boards the day after the initial install over a month prior. I was told it needed an inspection before ordering boards (despite previous visits & photos), but they couldn't send anyone for a 10-min inspection for weeks. They also never advised us this step was needed--continuing a trend of poor communication & zero proactive planning. During initial install, the installer was highly unreliable. Not once did he arrive near the promised time, each day brought an excuse, & he often arrived after 12-1pm, forcing him to stay past 7pm. He gave unreliable estimates for timelines. He was clearly exhausted & struggling by end of day, raising quality concerns that show in the areas we're still trying to fix. He was nice & did decent work when not exhausted. When paying $13k for "super scratch-resistant" floors, getting quality installation & responsive communication shouldn't be this difficult. Things happen, but the added stress & constant schedule rearranging (while working full-time jobs) has been unacceptable. Their priority is clearly the next new project, not finishing ones already started. If you get lucky with a perfect install the first time, they're great; as soon as something isn't right, be ready to strongly advocate for yourself & refuse to settle for the "easy" fixes they offer.

This company just did major damage to our walls and did subpar work. A one week job stretched into…read more5 weeks. We had them place waterproof laminate throughout the main area of our main floor. Three bedrooms of carpeting. Vinyl in a bathroom and a mudroom. And waterproof laminate in the finished basement. The first crews didn't cover/ tape off appliances or areas as stated in their contract. The whole house from the 14 ft ceilings with 10 ft ledges to the ducts and 6 brand new appliances' vents were coated in flooring dust because they used multiple electric saws inside our house. They dinged and gauged every single wall in every room. Massive amounts of damage to newly professionally painted walls. Some gauges removed layers of paint. There were black hand prints all over the walls. Their lunch garbage thrown on the lawn. The flooring in the basement was installed incorrectly. They left off the protective plastic layer that goes underneath. We have a video camera that points right into the basement door. Otherwise we wouldn't have known until our floor failed - then would've been told that the warranty was voided because it was installed incorrectly. The carpeting crews then did a shabby job and left a big, raised seam down the middle of the master bedroom. Doors not reattached or dragging the carpet. The wrong transition strip was put on the top of the basement landing - the wrong color and a major trip hazard. The carpeting crew then also did further damage to our walls by cleaning and painting on our walls without our permission. The project manager, Nadia, was in charge of the first crews and carpeting crew. We emailed Nadia and the salesman, Jay, the pictures and videos of all the damage to our home and the crappy work that had been done on the flooring. That email was forwarded by Jay to the branch manager, Amanda. Amanda assured us that everything was going to be fixed, the crews were let go and that Nadia was removed as project manager. She promised that a professional crew would fix the flooring, agreed to pay our painter to fix our paint, she would send out a cleaning crew and get our ducts cleaned. She also said she was going to oversee our project. Amanda didn't oversee anything. She didn't come out to our home until 3 hours before the 2nd crew was finished with our floors. She was on our property a total of 19 minutes. All caught on video. Video of her being asked by the 2nd flooring crew about the open hole left in our finished basement floor. It's supposed to have a matching cover. Instead the first crew shoved another pipe into the drain, making it narrower and no one has ever brought the matching floor cover. We still have an open hole in the floor. Also video of her saying she was going to have the flooring removed from our back patio. It's still sitting there. She also didn't even look at the carpet seam in the middle of the room or the damaged walls. The 2nd flooring crew did a better job but now less than two weeks later and the floors are popping in multiple places. The unqualified cleaning crew sent out by Amanda and Iliane then did more damage to our walls. Well, her teenage kids did. She sat in the car nearly the entire time, on her phone. Also all caught on camera. The mom can be heard asking the progress of the kids as they worked 'cleaning' my home and she sat. They didn't clean much but did a lot of damage. The mom used an unapproved cleaner on my floors that can void the warranty and strip my floors. After nearly 5 weeks into a job that was to take 1 week, has damaged our home, delayed our move by a month, delayed putting our other home on the market, cost us a lot more money than the cost of the flooring and ton of stress - we decided it was in our best interest and for the sake of our home to part ways with this company. We just could not trust anyone from this company to be let back into our home to damage it further. They have all proven themselves to be completely incompetent and unable to handle a job of this size. It was agreed that a price reduction was warranted and we were told we would hear from them soon about whether our warranties were still valid. We were also told that the owner had been notified. After three days with no communication we emailed to enquire about the status of our warranty. What we got back from Amanda was a snarky email that reeked of Chapgpt. It also stated that we would not get our reduction in price if I left a negative review or said anything negative on social media. That didn't go over well. We paid the reduced price and you're reading this review. And the damage is condensed here for space, it's worse. The new owner? Never heard from him. I sung their praises in multiple reviews before and now I'll shout from the rooftops what they did to my home and the crappy work they did.

The orders were placed at the same time (within minutes of each other). When they finally confirmed our order was in (after we called multiple times and something was sketchy about the delay in delivery), we thought we had everything. When we picked it up, the person helping to load was not very helpful and disappeared into the bathroom for a long time. They didn't want to hand load the boxes into our trailer, and expected us to help load them, so we unhooked our trailer so they could forklift it into the truck. After the project was done, we returned 5 boxes of flooring . and they wanted to charge us a restocking fee for the t-molding. We didn't return any molding. They said it was still in the store. They claimed to have called and left a message that it had arrived, a week AFTER we picked up our original order. We never spoke to anyone and there was no voicemail. So, quoting the order document, we had to pay a restocking fee on items we didn't receive and didn't even realize we were missing. The contractor didn't see the material so he just went to the local hardware, got the material. Should he have communicated so we knew it was missing? yes. Should we have double checked the order. Yes. Could LLF understood the situation and waved the $44 restock fee? That would have been good customer service. As a result I will NOT be using this company again and will NOT recommend it to anyone else.
