I submitted a request for an estimate to prune 2 trees via Yelp. I attached pictures of the trees to help with providing an estimate. I received several calls and text messages to come by and provide an estimate. I'm not sure why some can't provide an estimate from the photos. Empire was very quick to respond and provide an estimate from the photos I sent. This a timesaver for me and their price was very reasonable. They were also able to prune the trees the same day. Ambrocio was on time, polite and professional. He did a great job pruning the trees. He cleaned up after himself and removed all the debris and left the yard as though he was never there. This is my first bad review on Yelp. I feel I have to do this so that others are not fooled by the existing 5 stars. I hired this company to cleanup the died down lawn area, cover with weed fabric and mulch. They provided a reasonable quote over the phone and came as scheduled on 10/23. While they were working, I discovered multiple areas they covered with mulch WITHOUT putting the fabric down first. They fixed areas I pointed out. However, a week later grass started to grow in the mulched area. I found out 1. There are still areas with NO weed fabric. It was a large yard and I did not catch all the spots. 2. The weed fabric they used was poor quality and does not block weed at all. 3. They used so little mulch that the fabric/dirt is exposed in multiple areas . I contacted the owner, who had no regret of their poor quality work and offered remedy. In the nutshell, I have wasted more than a couple thousand of dollars on this project to block weeds. Totally failed in the end result. By the way, I still have not get a receipt from them so my tax record is missing info, even after multiple requests during the past month. So if you ever consider working with this company, I recommend you only contract them for labor, buy good quality materials yourself, and monitor their work very closely. I hope this review help you save a lot of money and headache. read more
