I had the same TERRIBLE experience with the previous recent 2025 reviews at the North Utica NY Visionworks. Visionworks front desk staff, an old and rude woman with bleached hair, gave me a pair of eyeglasses with a badly BENT frame. Also the prescription was OFF and I can NOT focus my eyesight with this pair of bent eyeglasses. This Visionworks staff then sent me out of the North Utica Visionworks store without giving me a chance to have the POORLY made eyeglasses checked by its store vision care staff. I RETURNED the poorly made eyeglasses back to Visionworks. My vision insurance was charged $575 by Visionworks and I left Visionworks that day WITHOUT eyeglasses. An official and exhausting complain process was filed. That very rude Visionworks old lady staff still works at the North Utica front desk. read more

Very bad service representative, after looking at glasses and decided what I wanted, she then told me that even with my insurance I'd have to pay 40$. Of course I wasn't getting the glasses so she said ok I'll put your card insurance on hold, I said I'm not coming back and she put it on hold anyway. So I go to Walmart to get glasses and they said I was unable to get glasses because vision works put my insurance on hold. Long story short, I had to wait to call this morning and have them remove that hold on my insurance card. Finally I was able to get glasses from Walmart with no extra charge and I have money left over to sunglasses. Bad business visionworks. Great business Walmart. P.s. this is the visionworks in North Utica in Utica ny. Best place to go to is Walmart on commercial drive in New Hartford ny. read more

Always a pleasure to be seen here. They take walk-ins and are available on weekends. I broke my glasses after JUST getting them a month ago and they had me in and out it within 15 minutes! I always enjoy coming in. read more

Let's face it, no one likes going to appointments. It takes time from your busy day, this visit was anything but that! They got me in and out of the exam quick, and Michael makes it feel like you're just chatting with a friend! It really feels like he cares about your comfort and wants you to leave satisfied. I came into Empire Vision works today to check out some new glasses because I lost mine. They're having a buy one get one free deal right now or 40% off one pair. They have a large variety of brands, colors and styles for both sexes. One of the girls at the front desk was helping me pick out a pair and all of the employees there are super nice, including the ophthalmologist!! They have most of the lenses in stock so it only takes a day for them to make your glasses!! Overall, this was such a pleasant experience. I will definitely be back!! read more

Just stopped in here to fix my husband's glasses. We're traveling through on 90 and he lost his lens at the nearby rest area... needed a screw or small repair. These folks were great. Answered their phone, popped it right in at no charge. The way business is supposed to work. Thanks!!!! Now back on the road, seeing clearly. read more
