This place is a JOKE!! If you want bad attitudes and people who get annoyed if you ask a question...you came to the right place!!! If EDD would make it easier to talk to a person in the PHONE it wouldn't be backed up with people! No, instead they pass you from machine to machine until you hang up!

Ask the Community - Employment Development Department

Is there a direct line to reach the consultant since (855) and (800) are only voice message, no one can answer the special situation. It is helpful if there is a hot line?

If you were put on hold, and you've been on hold past there closing time should I still stay on the line?

I missed a signature on my claim and had repeatedly gone to the Chino Hills office to try and rectify my mistake.

On a side note I've been diagnosed with schizophrenia, and at the time I was trying to enlist into the army I didn't know I was schizophrenic yet. Arriving at the hotel that you stay in San Diego near Meps, I didn't know I would be sharing a room with someone and I was not comfortable sharing a room with a grown man I know that sounds immature but I was assigned to share a room with a grown man who looked like a drug addict. I asked for another roommate at the hotel and I was put with another grown man who I believed to be homosexual. I ended up packing my things and going home and my schizophrenia symptoms weren't helping I ended up on the street. I had to pay a lot of money for a taxi to go back home. I'm Not blaming this recruiting center for my symptoms or anything but I wasn't comfortable sharing a room and I thought maybe that should have been explained during the recruitment process process or at least on the way to Meps Shuttle. I ended up going again to the recruiting center a few weeks later and went to Meps and the Meps hotel. I got a roommate who was around my age and i didn't leave home . (Keep in mind I didn't know I had schizophrenia yet) however my experience at Meps wasn't all that great due to my schizophrenia symptoms. Again I don't blame anyone for this. I ended up seperating from the group at Meps and walked back to the hotel where we stay at instead of staying at Meps and waiting for the Shuttle home. Sergeant Navar did something that was actually nice, he sent an Uber to the the Hotel to take me back to Meps . Everything went fine but I had to go to Meps again to take retake the test . I tried going again a few weeks later and on the way to the Shuttle I was having really bad schizophrenic symptoms and I ended up leaving before going in the shuttle. I told Sergeant Navar that I had second thoughts on the army and was wanting to join the coast guard. (Keep in mind my schizophrenia was getting out of control). Sergeant Navar told me we're already here at the shuttle you should go to Meps to at least take the test and see how you do or something along those lines. I left. I ended up on the street for the night and had to call my Dad to pick me up . Again I don't blame anyone for this . But weeks later after I was officially diagnosed with Schizophrenia and was now on medication. Sergeant Navar texted me saying "are you done with your soul searching sir?" Which I find to be extremely rude considering he goes to church and stuff I don't know why he would say something like that being a person who goes to church. He didn't know I had schizophrenia but I still found that very rude. My family told me to ignore that crazy guy , they said recruiters just want as many people as possible to enlist.
