I sincerely wished that I had gotten the name of the wonderful man, who was working at Bering's and who immediately began helping me find what I needed to buy. He literally walked me around, asking others who also worked there, where to find these items. Of course we ended up in the right section with a multitude of selections which I truly appreciated. I found what I needed and I was a very happy customer! This person's excellent professional service was extremely appreciated. The designers we have worked with have been extraordinarily helpful and kind. They have walked us through different possibilities with their neat design software. We ended up with pieces we cherish and the delivery fee was usually waived or low. We did have one hiccup with a smaller item not having all the required parts but one call to Ballard customer service and it was handled by a very genteel, sweet customer service rep. Really great store where we enjoy shopping! Ballard often has sales, so I recommend keeping an eye out and going in at strategic times of year. One of our visits was right before a seasonal change and our designer offered us a floor model at a discount! Also, the catalogs and website are great resources! Some items may be overpriced, but we have found the quality of our purchases to be fair for the prices we have paid so far. I suggest checking out their website first before coming in and letting the designers know your limits. We never felt looked down upon for being clear with the designers about our budget or tastes. Lastly, the staff at this location have consistently been welcoming and kind. I generally prefer to enjoying browsing on my own and approaching staff once I have a decision or a question. However, I appreciate that the staff/ designers always ask if they may help or simply greet me warmly. A small display of sincere effort means a lot to so many folks in the digital age. Keep it up!

Everything was on the floor. They keep walking over it. It's sure a management issue: they aren't walking or training their employees. What a disappointment from the "Home Goods" workers at this location. The only reason we went there was that it's a bigger store than the Galleria store, which is close to our home. This a a very cute shop with lots of interesting things you might not find elsewhere. However,…read morethey are cryptic about the return policy. There isn't one. You can only exchange for an item of equal or greater value. The policy is not easily visible at check-out (it is way on the other side of the register and relatively small), they provide a digital receipt (which you can only view after the fact), and the receipt does not say this. The returns tab is not working on their website. I accidentally bought a Baggu bag in the wrong size because it was stocked with the bags of the size I wanted. I tried to exchange the bag within a few days but they would not let me return for a refund and pointed to their exchange policy which was not easily seen while checking out. Therefore, I wound up purchasing a bag in the size I wanted and purchasing something else to make up the difference in price as they would not refund the difference. They were out of the pattern I wanted in the size I wanted. While this pattern was available elsewhere, since they would not refund, I was stuck with purchasing a pattern I did not like as much from them to use up the store credit. They ignored my advice to move the exchange policy where it could be more easily read by customers while checking out. I will no longer recommend this store to others or shop there myself.

We bought a sectional last week for $2200 + ($109 for delivery) and the whole process was seamless. They gave us options on the timing, communicated well, and the guys who delivered it were absolutely top notch. They gave me a heads up when they were 15 minutes out, arrived within their window, brought it upstairs without complaint, assembled it extremely quickly, and cleaned up all their trash.

The staff including Leslye were incredibly kind offering a bit of background on the store (the largest of the 8 stores nationwide) and never making my friend and I feel pressured to buy anything or leave. I think a place like this is an interior designer's dream with antique camel rocking chairs, geod paperweights, various sizes of painting and elaborate wall decor, and unique furniture from lucite to lush fabrics. While the prices were a little higher, I think they understand who they're marketing to, and the quality seems really great on many of their larger ticket items. Their website also shows a lot of their inventory with dimensions (so incredibly smart) so I may scope for a fancy wedding present. If I had the money, I'd definitely love to deck out a house with Mecox goods!

(rumour has it that persons calling themselves interior designers in the woodlands are coming to places such as this, harvesting great ideas, and selling them as their own. note to self: skip the self-styled suburban interior designers and chat up the boys at MECOX.)
