Beware of AnaLuisa The cabin and location were beautiful. Without our encounter with Anna Louisa, this would be a five star rating. We had the audacity to call her whenever we could not find the cabin. Immediately she was condescending, talked over us, not listening to what we were trying to tell her. It was so frustrating. We finally said her directions were crap. At that point, she became irate, cursing called us MFers, threatened to meet us at the cabin with the police to "evict us". I have never dealt with someone in customer service like this. It was insane. The next day, my credit card on file was charged $500 which was nowhere in the rental agreement. I reached out to ask her why and she said "she charged me because of my nasty attitude at check-in". I had to file a fraudulent claim with my bank against my credit card. Stay far far away from this company. We stayed at Dancing Creek. First, upon arrival at check in time, the house keeper was just getting started. He said he told them to let us know but we weren't informed. Location was excellent but the interior was dirty (rugs, sofa, spider webs, dust all over, floors, the loft upstairs was the worse), plumbing issues, needs a new cook top, screws in wood floor upstairs sticking up that cut feet. Today, I requested a two-night reservation from Enchanted Mountain Retreats. I promptly received an email that the request had been accepted. It included a contract for me to sign, which I immediately returned. Shortly thereafter, I received a phone call about the reservation, with the caller stating that there is a four-night minimum "It's New Year's, you know?" the caller said. She asked that I either cancel or extend the reservation. There is no four-night minimum stay requirement on either of the websites - both Mountain Paws and Enchanted Mountain list this property. In fact, as of 11/13/17, the property is also listed on both HomeAway and Trip Advisor with a minimum stay requirement of two nights (https://www.homeaway.com/vacation-rental/p3174251, https://www.tripadvisor.com/VacationRentalReview-g35128-d2172034-Sunset_Ledge_Incredible_Sunsets_HT_and_Fence_in_for_your_pets-Morganton_Georgia.html). I provided these links and screenshots to the company's reservations address as well. The Enchanted Mountain Retreats website let me put in a request to book for two nights, validating that our booking was an acceptable length of stay. And, the confirmation email and contract furthers my belief that this is a valid request. I do not think I'm unreasonable in feeling that it is not a fair or ethical business practice to expect clients to adhere to policies that are not included in OR are in direct conflict with the listings. And, we should not be expected to know or follow guidelines that the company's own reservation systems do not support. I understand that the booking is over a holiday weekend, but again - the website and reservation system do not include a stipulation for four nights, so we do not expect to be held to that requirement. When I said in my email response that "I trust that you will agree that the booking should be honored for the agreed upon dates and rates," the only response I received was "We are truly sorry you do not agree with our policies." This is not a matter of disagreeing with the company's policies; the company is falsely advertising a cabin rental on at least four websites. We received a reservation confirmation and a contract that the company is now not willing to adhere to it. That is a poor business practice. Based on other reviews that had negative comments about their experiences with this company, I expect I'll receive an argumentative response from AnaLuisa. read more

I booked a cabin in Northern Georgia back in December for the 4th of July week. The rental company collected full payment and made me sign the agreement 3 weeks before my trip was due. Everything was great until 10 days before my vacation I get a call from Ana (manager) telling me that unfortunately she has to cancel my reservation because the property was sold. Did I say 10 days before my vacation on a holiday week? She offered other properties miles and miles away from my original one that were smaller and not appealing at all. This rental company not only destroyed my vacation, they did not care much for it. I saw the reviews before I booked and gave them the benefit of the doubt, I should have paid more attention. I do not recommend this company and I encourage you to move away from it. My wife and I have traveled the world for years and we have never encountered anything like this. It is unprofessional and beyond disrespectful. To the property manager, please do not bother to reply to this review like you have done with others in the past, it is obvious based on other reviews that we can only point fingers at one direction. read more

Do not rent anything from Enchanted Mountain Retreats, Inc! They are rude and crooked! They have a contract that clearly states that your reservation is not valid until you contact them personally within 24 hours AND send in their umpteen page contract within 7 days. You get all of that info AFTER you make the reservation. Then when you try to cancel, even though you did none of those things, you must write a letter to cancel your reservation! The owner was rude as soon as I said the word cancel! When I stated his own policy he accused me of trying to pull tricks on him! He was really weird and scary. Terrible filth in cabin, owner was rude and wouldn't help us as the home was filled with rodent feces and my wife having stage 4 cancer could die from this filth. We begged to be moved to another cabin but she wouldn't do it. This left us no choice but to rent another cabin after only 2 days and ask for half of our money back and that was more than fair! Zero stars. Not a good thing to say, and apparently I'm not the only one. On Wednesday 9/12 I booked a cabin for two nights, 9/13-9/14 to evacuate hurricane Florence. I spoke with someone who I am assuming is the manager of the company as he was in the car on his cell and he verbally said those dates were fine and I booked online. I got my confirmation email and electronically signed for those dates and sent it back with my total being $461. I received another confirmation email booking me for three nights totaling $617. I did not authorize this payment nor is it what I booked online. I called the morning we were supposed to leave and asked to have the third day removed and the manager got very hostile and said they have a three night minimum (which is no where stated on the website or on my confirmation emails) and said that I was a liar and agreed to the 3 nights and he didn't want someone like me in his establishment if I was going to lie. All I wanted was the unauthorized night taken off and he cancelled my entire reservation leaving me with no money or place to evacuate for the hurricane. On top of everything I paid the extra money for the travel insurance which supposedly covered cancelation which he disputes but there is an unnamed fee in the amount of the insurance on my invoice. I have never been spoken to the way this man spoke to me and I reached out to my bank to ask how to release the funds into my account which is fairly easy on the business owners part but he refuses and sent me a copy of their cancellation policy which in no way covers what having travel insurance would cover or what happens IF THE MANAGER YOUR RESERVATION DUE TO AN INQUIRY ABOUT AN UNAUTHORIZED CHARGE. All and all, Enchanted mountain retreat does not follow their own policies and does not care about the people booking their rentals. Even during a hurricane, just horrible customer service. read more

Horrible customer service. We rented the Cherokee Rose cabin and drive over 6 hours to get there and our lock box code was not correct. I emailed them the week before to confirm our reservation and to make sure everything was in order and Ana was very unprofessional and acted like I was crazy for confirming our reservation. After we got there and our lock box code didn't work we called several times and no one answered. We decided to go eat and she called me back almost an hour later and asked me if I was crazy and needed to use my brain because I called her too many times she couldn't call me back. Then she hung up in my face and emailed me the drop box number. I will contact the homeowners as well. read more

The property was fine. The management company? I think not. They are maintaining that I deliberately ripped and stained sheets that were already damaged went I arrived. And they are threatening to charge me for the "deliberate" damaged I did not do. read more

I stayed at one of their properties, the Wilscot Lodge, which was infested with bed bugs. I don't know about their other properties, but based on my experience with this one, I will not stay at any of their other properties in the future! read more

The cabin we went to was great!! But From Enchanted Mountain Retreat was a bad. 1st for the cabin at Bella Luna they said do not use GPS so we did'nt and we followed the directions they gave that said to turn at a KFC that had been closed for 4 years and we ended up at a dead end. So we stopped ant got directions which would of been the same if we used our GPS. Then I spoke with Ana Luisa Salvatti at the cabin she was very very rude but I let it go. We had a great time at the cabin. But then my son left his sterling silver Fish necklace on the bed at the cabin in which this necklace means a lot to him. When I emailed Ana Luisa she emailed back that yes they found it and she needs a credit card I then asked If I can just send her a postage envelope since the necklace is very light she did not email me back. I tried calling for 4 days straight no answer I finally got a hold of Ana Luisa Salvatti she said I owe them $25 for the item then she was very loud with me and hung up on me never gave me a chance to talk. I will never use Enchanted Mountain Retreat and stay at a lot of cabins. read more
