The Park is a very nice and simple place to spend the winter, it's amicable and has the support of…read moremany volunteers helping to make the park, let's say, homier. The location is very convenient, most needs are within a 10 to 15-minute drive. Western Sands is not a large park, and that may be one of the main reasons for being so comfortable; it doesn't take much to get to know most residents. Management is very helpful and takes good care of the amenities and residents with proper attention. The overall activities are very well managed, and there is something to do for everyone who wants to participate. We intend to continue spending the winters here as long as we can. The host told me I had to make a deposit for the first night. So I did. Unfortunately, on March 20, 9 days before my date of arrival on March 29, I had to cancel as our plans changed and we have to return to Canada early. They only tell you that the deposit is non refundable on your confirmation receipt, after you already paid the deposit. This is policy stinks, and should be changed to make it more customer friendly. The RV lots differ dependent on where you park but this is the cleanest resort we have ever been to. We went to the February concerts, they were amazing. The pool and hot tubs are very clean. Lots of friendly neighbors, both owners and renters, lots of dog walking. The weather was spectacular, it only rained 1 time in 2 months, lots of shopping close by, and many good restaurants to choose from. We enjoyed the Palms resort so much we booked for 6 months for the winter season in 2026. See you in October.

The front desk staff was very nice and she explained that the clubhouse was being remodeled and that there was only one dumpster available to us, once again, with it being off-season. Quite a few single wide trailers that are used during on season by regular residents that sat empty, the center area was reserved for trailers, it seemed. Like I said, it's okay.
