Shipped me an item that arrived damaged, had been advertised as new, and was clearly broken before it was ever shipped (no damaged piece in the box) then refused to directly reimburse or pay to cover shipping on the return. Absolute scumbag behaviour. Will not buy from here again and strongly recommend other purchasers to avoid. I will note that I purchase from auction houses around the country, and understand that issues occasionally happen--but any auction house worth their salt covers returns that are their own fault. I had won a few items, when I went to pick these items up there were a few that they "couldn't find", how do you run an auction house, advertise product sell product, take payment on product and then tell the customer that " we can't find it" and yet there are plenty more up on the next auction. I have been burned by them a few times and will not go back. I strongly suggest staying away from the horrible business. 90% of their product is amazon returns, if you need parts good luck, you will need the original amazon order number to get them. Extremely disappointing experience with Encore Auctions. After winning items on the HiBid platform and paying my invoice, I attempted to request shipping using their required third-party provider, PKGPlace. Unfortunately, the PKGPlace website was experiencing technical issues and it was impossible to create an account or submit the shipping request. I contacted Encore Auctions immediately to inform them about the issue. They acknowledged they were aware of the problem with the PKGPlace website and told me I would have additional time to submit my shipping request. Once the website started working again, I successfully created my account and submitted the shipping request two days before the deadline they had mentioned. Despite this, Encore Auctions cancelled my shipping request twice, claiming the deadline had already passed. This completely contradicts the information I was given when I contacted them about the technical issue. After that, communication essentially stopped and no real effort was made to resolve the situation, even though the delay was caused by problems with their own required shipping platform. As a customer, I paid for the item and followed the process in good faith. Cancelling the shipment under these circumstances shows a complete lack of flexibility and customer service. Based on this experience, buyers should be extremely cautious when dealing with Encore Auctions, especially if shipping is required. Due to the lack of resolution, I will be requesting a chargeback through my credit card company and filing formal complaints with the appropriate consumer protection and business authorities. read more

DO NOT USE Bought several items at there Auction Shipping terms state that you have 5 days to put in a shipping request once order is processed. They also state the the shipping orders are processed by the following Friday after the Auction. The Auction was on Monday, I actually received my invoice on the Wednesday and paid I requested the shipping on Sunday (within the 5 day window) They would not ship it and would not process a refund. After a couple of emails they now claim that iI had to request the shipping on Tuesday (next Day) Nowhere does it state that. They use a third party shipper and to request the shipping you have upload a copy of your paid invoice so there is no way to request shipping in the 24 hours which is not stated anywhere only the 5 days. I had used this company several times in the last few years and shipping wasn't an issue. The previous time some of the items were not very good but i figured that i would give them another chance. What a dumb ideal that was. if I could rate them with out a star I would. DO NOT USE THEY ARE THE WORST AUCTION COMPANY AROUND. However, they can totally ghost you and if you can't arrange the shipping then you only have 1 day to arrange a pickup. NEVER DEALING WITH THIS COMPANY AGAIN. I had won over $100 worth of merchandise from an auction that ended January 26th & paid same-day. I sent a follow up e-mail to them on January 27th, asking they confirm I had requested shipping as I had not seen any charges for it. They responded January 31st, confirming I had requested it and that I would receive a quote for shipping charges shortly. Additional e-mails sent February 10th, 15th and March 2nd - not a single response. Phone calls made February 13th, 15th, 19th, and March 6th. Finally got a hold of a person on February 19th, who said my order was somehow missed and I'd have my shipping quote in a few days. Six phone attempts made today (March 6th) and, after more than 2.5 hours on hold on TWO different phonelines, I finally got a person. My order was checked again and, again, I was told it was somehow missed. I informed them I no longer wanted the items and only wanted a refund for what I had paid in January and still not received. I was initially told that they cannot issue me a refund and my items would be shipped the next business day. I, again, stated I wanted a refund and they can keep their items and was told that the person on the phone couldn't make those types of calls and they would have a manager call me the next business day. When I asked for a different number or e-mail that I can reach out to if I don't get a call, I was told they only have the one phone # and one e-mail address, both of which are completely useless. Their website says they normally respond to e-mails and calls within 48 hours - which is completely false. Within 90 seconds of me hanging up, I received a notification from my credit card company that Encore Auctions had just tried to charge my card another $42.22, which I'm assuming is to finally ship the items I no longer wanted. Enough was enough. I called my credit card company, explained the whole situation, and had a case opened and credit issued to my account in under 11 minutes. Do not purchase anything from here. I bid on, and won a Segway scooter that was pictured new and in a sealed box. When I picked it up, the box was damaged but didn't think anything of it. On the way home I thought about it more. When I opened the box, I took a video of a mud covered scooter. I wrote customer service with the video and the first time they said the it was buyer beware. I wrote back to another buyer beware response. I was not happy, but I thought, what the heck, I'll put it together. Pull out the instructions, start putting it together. Turns out that the scooter in the box wasn't even the correct one. Someone has returned their old scooter to get a free upgrade from Amazon. Dealing with Encore was one of my worst experiences I have ever had. Do not request shipping as the grossly over charge and take for ever to even contact you for delivery. The product I purchase stated that all the pieces were present. They had the item so taped up I couldn't get into it till I got home. So of course there was a piece missing. If I could give them a zero I would. They hide behind their "As Is" policy buried in the fine print. They use stock pictures, so you never know the actual condition of the items and they never disclose anything in the auction information. Purchased numerous items based on the listing information, only to find out they were broken or incomplete. They can basically sell you a box that should be a TV but instead it's full manure, and they will basically say "oh, well, we're not responsible because we don't check the items". Sounds like a class action lawsuit waiting to happen. There are plenty of other auction site in the area that use actual pictures and disclose listing details so you can make an informed decision. I have purchased from this company for years and they constantly change their return times, Pickup times etc. I came to claim my items and was told that i was one day late and they were gone. They did not offer to look or check and when I asked the rude girl "Lauren" she gave me the usual attitude that you get if there are any issues. This person is probably the reason they get so many bad reviews. Have someone who understands customer service. If you knowingly are selling used and potentially broken products and you claim to offer returns, have someone who can actually assist people and not cop attitude immediately. Stay away, what a scam. Purchased a couple items from them and will never visit that place again. One was an electric shaver, when I picked it up I noticed that all the attachments and power cord were in the box but no shaver, they didn't care because it was under $20 item. Another item i bought was almost $60 stand, listing said it was new, when i opened it i noticed it was heavily used, with scratches and huge dent as if someone dropped it, I went back to return it just to be told by rude girl in the front that all items are sold as-is and as long as the item is usable they wont take it back. Buyer Beware with this auction house. . I was charged over $300 for items that I purchased and was sent an invoice with a "ship to" address. I was expecting an e-mail with a shipping quote which I never received. Attempts to contact them via E-mail took a while and when they finally responded I was informed that I had not indicated that shipping was required for my order when I registred for the auction so they had gone and resold all the items on my order. When I attempted to obtain a refund, their e-mail was no longer in service. I was successful in contacting them through their new Chat service. After their review of the invoice, they offered a refund minus a 36% restocking fee which amounted to over $120. When i told them that this was excessive considering they had sucessfully resold all the items. They then indicated that this was a take it or leave it offer. When I indicated that their offer was unacceptable and that I would persue other means to try and get my money back, they withdrew their offer and closed the chat session. read more

Stay away. Items not inspected before put up for auction. They use stock photos. Items maybe used, broken, missing parts etc. They will not refund you for Item under $20. Bought a Chi curling iron and received a used cheap curling iron in a Chi curling iron box. Bought a panni press and it was broke in to. Other times items were missing, ie, only 4 out 6 pieces were in package. Other times items auction came out with several winning bids missing. Stayed away for 5 months amd gave it one more try. Won plastic storage bin, box intact, product itself missing closing hinge and plastic cracked and broken off. Absolute garbage. Not the new unbroken piece shown in the Pic auctioned. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!! Do NOT purchase from this scam company!!! They stole money from both myself and my dad. For me I won items (worth $500) while my credit card was locked, I unlocked my card and called multiple times to have them recharge my card - they do not pick up the phone!!! According to their website if you don't provide method of payment by 2pm then you forfeit the auction items, since I couldn't get a hold of them to provide payment I figured I gave up the items (so be it). They charged my card 15 days later well after the items were reposted and re-sold. They got paid twice for the items. When I asked if I could get my money back they said they have the right to charge my credit card at any time (15 days later!!!!????) when I asked if I could pick up the items, they already resold them. SCAM With my dad, he purchased a vista baby stroller that based on the picture they posted was the whole stroller. The auction workers put the box in the car for you. He won the item for $700 and when once it was brought home, the only thing in the box was just the bassinet, went immediately back to the auction and they said the whole stroller was in the box when it was put in the car (accusing us of stealing it and trying to return the empty box). They kept the bassinet while they "investigated" the matter. They got back to us 2 days later and that they had proof based on their stock images that the stroller was there - we asked to see the stock images of this "proof" they said no and they wouldn't refund our money. Auction items are never checked before being put up for auction. Very deceiving. If you buy an item 20.00 or under whether it works or not, you own it. Where do I start... 1) they expect customers to do their quality control, things are not inspected but pictures of fully functional items are posted from Amazon. When you get the item it is broken or missing parts. These are returned items but they should let people know exactly what they are bidding on 2) picking something up is bedlam. long line-ups to get in, no order as to when someone decides to grab your order and bring it out so you wait for over an hour, staff wander around the parking lot looking for your car. Inside looks like a health and safety nightmare, can't believe they haven't been shutdown yet. 3) they charge a 16% premium plus handling fee. not sure what for since they don't inspect anything. they buy all their merchandise and sell it at a profit, they are not selling stuff on behalf of Amazon so it's not like they need to add something for themselves ...it's all for themselves 4) no longer allow returns under $20 so not only are you expected to do their quality control but now they want you to pay for their broken inventory, plus don't forget the time wasted picking it up and the cost to drive their (if you are from out of town) The quality wasn't too bad and you could always return it if it was actually broken, yes it was a waste of time but if you factored that in you can usually get a deal. But now it's not even worth it anymore. After you factor in bidding against resellers, time wasted picking anything up, getting stuck with their broken inventory you'll likely be further ahead buying retail. Let these guys rot and go to the other auction houses in London, they still inspect and allow returns for broken stuff. I only received half of the actual item I ordered and was pictured (electric mixing beaters with no beaters), but they wouldn't let me return them for the following reasons: 1) it was under $20 2) Technically, it "worked" because the base part turns on when plugged in 3) It says in their conditions that parts might be missing 4) Their handlers don't have time to review all items 5) Their conditions state the pictures may not be accurate I asked, then, "Can we come inspect before we purchase?) She (the employee assisting me) said no. I asked, "You meant to tell me, I could buy a pair of shoes for unde $20, open the box, find only one shoe, and wouldn't be allowed to return it?" I have delt with this company for years and fully understand the reason I am getting something for such a good deal is because it is not in new condition. As many of the posts state, the thing in the photo is not what you are bidding on. (BAIT AND SWITCH) I have won auctions in the past and when I have picked up the won item it is a completely different item all together. Now with this pick up policy I have been charged hundreds for stuff that I missed the 3 day policy.(first one I didn't know the policy had changed, second one I was called away on business and because they are only open during business hours I had no one that could pick up my items because they work during the day) The last time I got taken by encore was because I picked my item up on the forth day even know I didn't get the invoice till Monday so in my mind I had till Thursday to pick up my items. I mentioned that Sunday after auction ended I was notified that I "May Have Won Item" so until I get the invoice I don't assume that I have won. Now that they can charge you for something keep the product and the money. How do I get into this business. Not that it matters to them but I will no longer be buying from their auctions. Don't come here! This place steals peoples money! Half of the items that you buy are broken, not what you bid on, or pieces are missing. They won't refund money under $20 so today it took 1 hour and 30 minutes for me to pick up a $17 'item' that was an empty box.
