When I did a google search I called the company with the most reviews but it felt impersonal. I did a yelp search and this company came up. I just had a lovely conversation with a women (who's name I didn't get) she was polite, attentive and if she were servicing my area I would have hired her and I asked more then once if she had anyone in my area but we're too far to be efficient. What I appreciated most was how she clearly summarized how the business works so that I would have something to base my search on- what's included what's not, what they do, how they do what they do, what to expect from start to end- that required time and professionalism. She made me feel like a client despite being out of her jurisdiction. Dear Ms- I thank you for your time and appreciate your kindness and I am grateful you answered my call. It was perfect timing to have connected with you and you set the bar for the service I am seeking in your industry! If you're looking for help, and you're in the Ottawa and surrounding area- I hope you give this business a call and mention my review so you show you're invested in this process and you'll I feel confident in saying this business will be invested in you also.

The auction day went well. However, the Estate Sales Ontario owner had promised us that she would dispose of any unsold items in my brother's apartment. (This promise was also on her website at the time.) This did not happen. We were left with one week to dispose of various large items ourselves in a difficult time of Covid. The owner promised a prompt reckoning and payment from the auction. This also did not happen. It took several months and repeated reminders for any payment to arrive. The owner told us she had "overlooked" our payment because she was so busy. I live in another province. It took three months for items I bid on to arrive. Expect politeness and promises when you first talk to this owner but little follow-through. Very disappointing service.

The owner expressed some frustration about shipping to US. And, I asked if we could figure out a way to make it work and he said he'd get the painting and consider it. A while later a staff member (Andrea) called back and left a message for me to call back. I returned the call and she said they didn't want to ship it to US and was concerned it was in fragile condition. I sad Ok. I then called a friend who lives nearby said he'd be able to get / it or receive it and bring it when he visited me soon. So, I called back and told the staff member I had a solution to the situation and informed her my friend could handle and bring the piece. She paused for a bit, then said, I'm sorry it was just sold. I felt her explanation was disingenuous at the least. And I expressed my amazement and indicated her story seemed factitious. She put me on hold for a while and then I spoke again with Bob. Bob started telling a different story and then said, well, the piece was actually just sold. He said someone just walked in and bought it, so it wasn't available. What are the chances of someone walking in and purchasing a Florida painting in February in Hamilton, Canada? lol Got to say this seems like unscrupulous, disingenuous and even dishonest behavior and business practices. Suggest that any buyers proceed with extreme caution if considering doing business with Earls Court Gallery. Buyers beware!
