Came here as a guest and had a fantastic experience at this venue. I can't speak on the business aspect part since it was someone else's event. However as a guest things seemed to have ran smoothly. The acoustics are great and the live music performed was rockin' Now mind you my friend put her heart and soul into planning this. I feel as though she and her family did the majority of the leg work. It was a very nice birthday turnout! *only thing is some floor areas are wonky. So be careful of your steps. Especially if you wear heels. It kinda felt like it was subjected to flooding at some point or some water damage/foundation issue. Charged us double the amount of money we would have paid at a different place and the day of the event we couldn't find any staff member at the venue, nobody answered their phones and they served the food much later than they were supposed to and it was cold. Please DON'T TRUST this company. READ BEFORE YOU MAKE A DECISION!! We had an apt with Peter Charles to look at the options and I was very much on the fence to begin with. My fiancé was more inclined to use them. We wanted to take some time to talk about it and Peter Charles used is excellent sales personality to state how we should hold the spot for $750 just to be sure that we didn't lose it as an option. He promised over and over that it was completely refundable if we let him know within two weeks. We told him it wouldn't take that long and we would know with in a couple days. He kept telling us to take our time and not to rush into a decision. I was hesitant to give my card but we did. we never signed any contract of any kind. We reached out to him with in two days to say we went in a different direction and that we would like a refund. after going back and forth with him, he assured us it was being processed. It was never processed. Sadly then a month later they attempted to charge my bank card for the remaining 6,000. As I said we NEVER SIGNED ANYTHING and they tried to take it out of my account. Thankfully I don't have that kind of money so it was denied. I had to TURN OFF THAT CARD AND CHANGE TO ANOTHER TO AVOID THEM TRYING TO CHARGE US AGAIN. I recently had the opportunity to do a site visit at Encore Event Center. It offers multiple indoor and outdoor spaces for any type of event. Each room has it's own unique charm and can accommodate small, intimate parties or very large parties. After touring the venue, I immediately had a space in mind. Unfortunately, the rest of my party decided to host our event in Vegas. So I have to pass on this venue, for now. The place is nice, but the staff and employees who work there were not professional. Last week was my best friend's wedding day and the reception needed A/C because there were a lot of guest in that room. Most of us were sweating and it was uncomfortable. Even the cake was melting in that heat. The food arrived late. Some of it was cold and stiff. It was very hard to even chew. Also, don't get me started on how the bathrooms were. It was messy and there were too many people in the bathroom. When I went in for the second time, 2 little girls were trying to open the bathroom stall I was in. They kept banging and trying to open the door in which I told them it's occupied. Once I got out I did not see their mom nor an adult with them, which is concerning since any random stranger could have taken them away. I do not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Unfulfilled Expectations and Frustrating Service We booked this venue for our wedding expecting a smooth experience but were disappointed. Communication with staff was inconsistent and unprofessional, and organization was poor. The advertised top chefs were misleading--the food arrived in coolers and tin pans and was more than 50 minutes late. We found out the Day of that another wedding reception was booked at the same time as our event. That had a loud Marching band drowning out our guest, again no notice. Can I say that they had collected monthly installments on their contract and had received full payment for many services that were not delivered. The food was Cold, mac and cheese were hard as a rock, they had tin foil around pans. The Manager on Duty set the plates in the middle of the buffet lines so people had to reach past others to get a plate. When asked, I was told that they had never severed a set up like that before. Which is a poor excuse. This venue was paid 18,000 dollars, For Dirty white chairs, with crooked legs and some chairs had dirty cushions to cover up the already scratched and dirty chairs. The servers never cleared the tables, the manager on duty would go missing, I assumed at the other party. My dessert cupcakes never put out. I also paid for full open bar; they knew what the couple's drinks were and they had run out of the needed liquor before the reception even got started. Subpar Facilities and Cleanliness Lack of Transparency and Hidden Fees The Venue front was dirty not swept, stained, bathrooms no paper towels. One of my guests had to tell a food server to wash their hands while in the bathroom... After the event, we discovered, that staff had to be told to clear the table due to the tablecloths being my property. Someone broke my brand new 1 half Galloon drink holder with no notification, of course the manager knew nothing about it. The lack of transparency felt dishonest and added insult to injury. Manager left a 9:00pm leaving staff to have to try and answer all my questions. My guest stacked chairs and cleared tables due to them standing around confused. What about any of this was worth 18,000 dollars. We were served about $3000.00 dollars of cold finger food; while on their web site the boast of CHEF, to make you think food is being prepared on sited. this is a total MONEY GRAB!! Conclusion Our wedding day was meant to be one of the happiest moments of our lives, but this venue made it unnecessarily stressful and disappointing. I would strongly advise future couples to look elsewhere for a venue that truly values their clients and delivers on its promises. I had my wedding ceremony and reception at Encore Event Center about a couple weeks ago. They were able to accommodate our 300 person wedding. Finding a wedding venue that is flexible and affordable is challenging - but Encore Event Center is both of those things. We were on a budget, but were still able to afford an open bar and bring in our own taqueria catering (for a reasonable extra catering buy-out fee) - which is nearly impossible to find. They had a change in ownership a couple months before my event date, a transition that seems to have triggered some of their recent low reviews. However, once Patricia and Anna (new management) met with me, I felt like I was in good hands. They are attentive and accommodating. They asked questions, were organized and ultimately made sure everything was set up correctly. They were thorough in going over the set-up of the day which made me feel at ease leading up to my wedding day. Anything we asked to be done last minute or fixed up, was completed. We just had to speak up. The bartender, MJ, came into my bridal suite day of the wedding to introduce himself which we thought was very nice and many of our guests were pleased with his service. We had two photo booths at our event - and they were a little slow and people have not yet received the photos that were supposed to be texted to them, (only emailed) which was one inconvenience, but they are working on getting those sent to us, it is just taking a while. I would recommend to ask that they get this resolved beforehand if you are using their Photo Booth services! We had a very disappointing experience with Encore. During our tour, we were told the deposit would be refundable and that we had 6-8 weeks to make a decision. We were transparent about still exploring our options and were not given a contract or any written policy about payments or cancellation terms. Despite this, we were charged the full deposit without warning, and then charged again later that month. We had not signed anything or confirmed our booking. When we reached out to clarify, we were told our event was considered "confirmed," even though we were still in the decision-making process and had voiced our financial concerns. The communication was inconsistent and lacked transparency, which ultimately led us to cancel. We are now left disputing charges for a service we never agreed to. I would not recommend working with this venue unless every agreement is in writing from the start. read more

We just celebrated my mother's birthday here last Friday. I had been planning my mother's 70th birthday party at Encore Event Center for over a year, and what should have been a beautiful, stress-free day turned into an absolute nightmare because of their disorganized staff and terrible management. First of all, management changed FOUR times during the planning process. Each new person we spoke to had no idea what was going on, forcing us to re-explain details over and over. On the day of the party, we were allowed access to the venue at noon to set up (the party started at 4pm). But when we arrived, none of the lights in the room were on. My team had to start setting up using the flashlights on our phones because no one on staff knew how to turn on the lights. It wasn't until 3pm--three hours later--that my husband climbed a ladder and figured out how to turn the lights on himself by flipping the circuit breaker. The table arrangement was completely wrong, the color sequence of the table toppers was incorrect, and the shimmery table covers I specifically selected when touring the venue were missing. When I asked management, they simply said they "couldn't find them." The candles in the centerpieces didn't work either, so a family member had to make a last-minute run to Michaels to purchase replacements. To make matters worse, out of about 10 staff members present, only one spoke English, so no one could answer our questions or help us troubleshoot. There was no designated point of contact until 4:30pm--30 minutes after the party had already started. I had to walk around the entire building just to find someone who could help us. Another frustration: my dad wanted to put his credit card down for the bar, and staff told him they only accept Venmo. This was shocking and unacceptable for an event venue. I had to go searching through the building to find someone who could help, and finally, management agreed to take his card. But by then, my dad was visibly upset--this party was for his wife, and it added even more stress to an already chaotic day. The staff also left a ladder in the middle of the room before guests arrived (again my husband had to move it), and they even ran out of tablecloths for the cake and drink tables. The appetizers were not served on time as stated in the contract, and overall the staff was completely unhelpful. The only positive thing I can say is the food was excellent--our guests raved about it. They also nicely boxed the top tier of the birthday cake for us to take home. But overall, I would never recommend this venue to anyone unless you plan to bring your own team to run the entire event yourself. Do not expect the staff to help with anything--not even turning on the lights. The management was a total debacle, and the stress this venue caused on what should have been a joyful day was unforgivable. read more

I wish someone had posted this much detail when I was looking for a venue, so here goes! AMAZING experience. I booked the Cantina room with the outdoor space add-on. 5 STARS. From Tanya, my coordinator, Laura the bartender, Julio the DJ (the best!), Betty the chef and Roberto. THANK YOU all. I should say, I did all my decorations myself as I wanted it to be exactly what I had planned. I will post pictures to show you how it turned out. When my guests walked into the room, they were shocked, how nice the decorations and theme was. The other parties stopped in and kept taking pictures. First Tanya. I had so many questions and changes or clarifications and Tanya did the best to accommodate everything. She was creative and imaginative to make my birthday the best. She made the planning and day of less stressful for me. Ask for Tanya to be your coordinator. She will work with you to get your vision come to life. Laura. She stepped in when Tanya was off and made the transition seamless. She did everything she could to make the day less stressful and was the bartender to boot. I was worried my 85 guests would have to wait in line for drinks, but they didn't. She kept up with the demand and knew what most of my guests were drinking before they even got to the bar for their second round. Laura did well in tips as my guests loved her. Now the food. Everyone is talking about several things. The top of the list was the prime rib. Betty's prime rib could put the fancy steakhouses to shame. All the food was excellent and hot. Only 3 nits about the food. Appetizers: The lumpia didn't come out until after dinner and I had to ask. I am not sure what happened but once it came out my guests loved them. And the market board was supposed to be on risers, and it wasn't. It was served on regular boards. The second would be the desserts. I wanted a dessert bar with the desserts served in individual cups so I could make a dessert bar with a dry ice fog effect. They serve their desserts on a plate which is ok but not the look I wanted to fit in with my theme. Lastly, dinner was supposed to start at 5:30 but it didn't start until 6 pm when the other parties were starting which caused a crowd in the shared space hallways. Overall, I would give Betty and the chefs 5 stars and would have them cater my event again. The wait was worth the quality and taste of the food. Roberto. Roberto helped me a lot. He met me at the venue several times to let me in to drop off and pick up, helped me load and unload my car. He is more behind the scenes guy but let me tell you, this guy is a keeper. He represents Encore very well! Julio, the DJ! Made the entire party! SO much fun. My nieces loved him, and I would book him again and again. You rock Julio! A few suggestions to make Encore Event Center more upscale. 1) Have tiered packages, like gold, silver, bronze levels that includes everything. Their pricing is confusing. Everything is priced out separately. There is a room rental fee, outside rental fee and it is just that. Nothing else comes with the rental. You have to add on chairs, linens, chargers, silverware, glasses, lounge furniture, alcohol, food, centerpieces, decorations, DJ, dance floor, lights etc. Plus, there is an 18% service fee, 5% accounting fee, taxes and gratuity on top. I thought the 18% should cover the gratuity. There is a gratuity line on the contract and invoice. Having all these fees, after everything was added up cost more than what I could have gotten the House of Blues downtown with all the decorations, food, bar, dj etc. included. I am very happy with how my event turned out, but it was a little pricey after everything was added up. For the price I paid, I expected the next items table stacks. 2) Parking. Day of event, they blocked off the parking directly in front of the space and we couldn't use it. Still not sure why. And the way they blocked it off was with construction zone like tape and orange cones. The first impression my guests had was of the parking lot being taped off. It looked tacky and like the venue was a low budget space. It isn't. It was gorgeous inside, but first impressions go a long way. 3) The restrooms are shared space for all the rooms. The restrooms were not the cleanest, there wasn't any soap in the ladies rr. My suggestion would be with that many parties going at the same time, someone should be attending to the restrooms all night. 4) The venue could use a makeover. The flooring is buckling, the landscaping is full of weeds and the outdoor space has a few trip hazards. 5) Clearing the tables after dinner. It seemed like their busing staff was working all three events and we couldn't start our speeches until everything was cleared which put us behind schedule. Overall, 5 stars! read more

My Wedding on April l9th, 2025 I went there on Friday the 18th at 2pm for a rehearsal, at that time I met Maria and the manager (don't remember her name). This meeting was also to go over my contract specifications, reception decorations, food etc. due to the new ownership. I began to bring in all the items that I was incorporating into the reception decorations, the alcohol and miscellaneous items. I had two banners I wanted set up, the bartender began assist me when the "manager" said she could not assist in setting them up, but we could put them where we wanted them, and they would be put up. We sat one by the reception entrance where my seating chart and wedding book were. We sat one where the sweetheart table was. We set them completely up, all that needed to be done was pull the banner up and attach to poles. This was not done! While I was running around, Maria told my bridal party while they were in the reception area that I did not have "Open bar" so when I walked in, they said you need to talk to the staff they are saying you don't have open bar. She needed to speak to me not my bridal party! I then had to sit down with the bartender an explain why it read "Consumption bar" and the was concerned about the price, it was the price I was given due to the relationship between myself, and the former employee contacts I was started the contract with. We had our open bar just had to change our signature drinks flyer to not included champagne. I was there for at least an hour or more making sure we were on the same page for my big day Our cake was put on an unstable table and when we went to cut it the table began to fall, luckily my husband was able to catch the cake, but we had a wine glass that was a part of a bridal shower gift that fell and shattered on the floor. Our $385 dollar cake should not have been setup on an unstable table like that! The dinner plate items were Lukewarm, the only item that had any heat to it was the chicken. Totally unacceptable that the food is not served Hot! We were never served the 2 desserts that came with our dinner selection - Stars n stripes Sunday the 20th, my husband saw a charge of $556.09 on his cc for some monies that Encore Event Center felt they were due; however, this was not discussed with us, we did not know what these charges were for. Initially we had a headcount of 92 on the contract. I spoke with Maria and explained to her days before the wedding that I had a head count of 101. We spoke about how to squeeze in the 1 person from the 101 head count to a table. She did mention it would be a balance due for the additional persons. I understood that. However, I spoke with her again a couple days later and explained 4 more people had cancelled and I would give her another headcount. But because I was dealing with so many other issues on that Friday, I forgot to give her the final head count. Our final headcount prior to the wedding day was a total of 95. So, this should have been a discussion, you do not charge a credit card that was not being used to make the contract payments, we were paying by cashier's check. Are initial deposit was paid with that credit card and a subsequent payment after because we weren't aware we were being placed on autopay with a surcharge, so we stopped paying by credit card. My husband has disputed these charges. At this point we don't feel we owe Encore Event Center any additional money! If anything were owed monies for the services, we paid for and didn't receive.The things I've mentioned should not have happened, these were very small requests that should have been fulfilled. I will say the everything was decorated nicely and the space as accommodating for the wedding but they can use some improvements in the inventory and customer service! If Tanya an Mannix was still working there this would not have happened. Peter was also amazing. It's the new management/employees! read more

They have told us multiple times that they would return our money and now do not answer calls or emails and are now forcing us to take legal action. We hosted an event at Encore, and the experience was nothing short of terrible due to the security staff and management. Security was unnecessarily rude, aggressive, and disrespectful. Hours before the event, while preparing, my friend asked a security guard a simple question--loud and clear--but was blatantly ignored. When I asked why he wasn't responding, the guard got in my face and said I "won't be here long," as if threatening to kick me out. Keep in mind, our organization paid these security guards for their work. When I brought the issue to the self-proclaimed "owner," instead of addressing his employee's unprofessional behavior, he mocked me and said, "Did he hurt your feelings? Get over it." Rather than de-escalating the situation, he dismissed the problem entirely. Later, when some of the girls at our event confronted him about how disrespectfully I was treated, his response was to offer them free drinks instead of giving me the apology I deserved--like that would somehow fix the situation. The way this place is managed is embarrassing. The lack of professionalism and basic customer service ruined what should have been a great night. If you're looking for a venue that respects its patrons, stay far away from Encore. read more

My company had their holiday party here. Breakdown for venue, food, and bar/entertainment came out to about 100$ a person. Booking was fairly easy and they were flexible with quote changes to fit our needs. Only downfall was that the food was buffet style and wasn't enough to serve the guests for the amount that was originally quoted. We added the prime rib upcharge and it was pretty dry, and ran out before everyone was served. After eating, the finished plates sat on the tables for over an hour which was not appealing, seems like they lacked service in that sense. read more

I absolutely love Encore, The staff is super friendly very clean and their food is delicious especially the taco Bar. I've hosted great events, been to lots of Birthdays, Weddings and even concerts and all of them where unique and magical in their own way. I love how it's 15 minutes from downtown San Diego and 20 minutes from North County, parking is always a problem in San Diego and this location has tons of parking which is a big plus for a San Diego venue. It's something to really think about when your looking for space. I've had trouble finding a location to host our wedding reception and the Grand Ball room was perfect for our 250 guest, we even added the court yard that holds 125 guest for our ceremony. It's going to be a beautiful setting during the day that's going to over flow into the reception into the night. Leo, Bety and Mannix where really great to work with and made it really easy for us by plan out our special day. We recently had our son's wedding reception at Encore. I was disappointed with the organization of the event. Some examples include: the food was served late, we had to remind them about cutting the cake, the DJ announced and proceeded with the toast and nothing was in the flutes and glasses to toast with and they originally put our table in the corner (keep in mind our last name is the same as the grooms and there was assigned tables by name). Last month in June, I did a tour at Encore Event Center. I worked with a gentleman named Peter Charles. He seemed to be friendly, but very fast talking and very salesy. Sad to say I fell for the okey-doke! We were made to believe that they are completely booked up all the way till 2027 and the only way to possibly book the date we were interested in was to pay $1000 booking deposit. He also quoted us $15,000 for an all-inclusive package, which is a great deal, but we noticed him changing the numbers on the quote to get it to equal a certain amount which we thought was a little bit shady. other venues we viewed, it was cut and dry what their cost was and what each element costs. Anyways, we put down the deposit because we were told that we have two weeks to decide and we did not see any harm in holding our date while we figured out what we were doing. Fast-forward only 4 days later, we decided not to go with them because we found a venue we loved with staff that were very transparent. It took me three days to get a response from Peter to get a refund. He only wanted to do things on the phone, he avoided trying to text me details. But I wanted things in writing. he called me and dropped our package down to $10,000! Because he didn't want us to cancel. I thought that was interesting that he was able to cut our price down so easily within seconds down to 10,000. That shows me he was just trying to make a sale instead of genuinely helping us on the biggest day of our lives. He told me it would be 10 business days to get my refund. I waited 10 business days and never seen a refund. I even have text messages of him telling me that I'll get a confirmation once the refund is processed. He absolutely confirmed that my refund was on the way. So after 10 business days,. I then called the venue and spoke with Maria. She told me Peter never requested my refund or never notated that I wanted a refund! Sounds like he was trying to run the clock out on my two week grace period. It's now been a month and I'm still going back-and-forth with them and now taking legal action. I just wanted to share my experience with anyone considering Encore Event Center. They are definite scammers. Not to mention, the venue itself was messy, the floors creaked , everything was outdated and tacky. He was trying to offer us the tiniest room for 140 people. There was no way we could fit 140 people in that space. While I'm excited to plan my wedding and create the most beautiful day of my life, it's starting out so dampend and dark because of Encore Event Center. Nobody has reached out to me, I still have not gotten a refund after a month. I have no confirmation emails that this has been worked on. It has been an absolute nightmare! I've worked in customer service over 10+ years. Nobody has tried to check in on me and make sure I'm OK or needed anything or communicated that things were in process etc. It's like crickets over there. Do not waste your time! read more

Had an event here and it was the worst experience ever! From the service, parking, food, venue, and overall atmosphere, I can easily say this was the worst company I have ever worked with. When we arrived, they did not have enough tables and chairs there to accommodate the original or updated headcount given to them, so our guests had to set them up themselves. They were over an hour late serving dinner, and told us they would bring us plates and silverware once the other event was done using them. The menu items we agreed upon were not what was served, and over half of our guests couldn't eat because they did not meet our dietary restrictions as promised. They were rude, unaccommodating, and did not problem-solve at all. When the food did come out, many guests had dirty silverware and found hair in their meals. Do not book an event with them, this was highly disappointing, and no way to conduct business. I've worked in customer service for years and have never seen such a horrible response to a mistake. read more

I've had several events here for dance music and non-profit events. The staff and crew are very friendly and easy to work with. They also have a lot of spare supplies in case you run out which happens sometimes. The prices for the areas are fair too. I've really enjoyed seeing them expand over the years. read more

2/11/24 Today we had my husband's 65th Birthday. Originally we were suppose to have his party on 01/21. Unfortunately, he caught Covid for the first time. I called Katie to let her know that I was extremely upset and I needed to move the party date. I was dreading making that call! Katie was so nice and accommodating! We moved it to Super Bowl Sunday! We had a Photo Booth (which is always a hit, ) kings chair and a DJ that was awesome who they recommended!! They also are connected to this wonderful lady who made the Street Tacos, rice, beans and Guacamole!!! The food was fantastic. The 2 bartenders were very nice to our guest. This was a great venue to have a party at. You have several different rooms to choose from for an event. I was surprised they had clothe Napkins, silver ware, wine glasses. Just beautiful! I highly recommend them for your next event. I will use them again in the future should a special occasion arise!! read more

I went to Encore last Saturday to do a venue visit for my birthday that I was planning for December. I love the place. It was big, spacious, clean, safe area with plenty parking. Peter was amazing! He walked us trough the different venues and provided the prices. He answered all my questions and very easy to work with. Kudos to Peter for being awesome. The only downfall is that most of my guest are friends from out of state and not sure if holding a birthday event and my friends from out of state would not be able to come. But, I would use Encore and their event halls for all events. I recommend Encore Events and Peter for excellent customer service. My daughter is interested in using Encore for my granddaughter birthday party. Thank you Peter for being awesome and for all you do! read more

Me and my fiance took a tour of Encore for our wedding. The staff was really nice and friendly they made us feel welcomed. We couldn't be more Happy to say YES to this venue!! The rooms are So Beautiful, clean and spacious! I Love that this venue is close to the freeway and has plenty of parking for our guests. We cannot wait to celebrate our Special Day at Encore! read more
