We participated in our very first cooking class today at Encore and it was so good! The owners were very organized, gave great directions, and the food turned out amazing! We started out with sausage dip and bread, while enjoying a drink. Then we all made our own pizzas, and a sweetheart berry crumble dessert. We left with our pizza dough for home and a dessert to pop in the oven later... We can't wait for the next class. It was a lot of fun. PHENOMENAL!!!!!! The service was incredible, I did not get our waitresses name but she was great at recommending items and drinks from the menu. My pizza was amazing as well, I got the pineapple one (the hot tropic) but it was so flavorful and perfectly crispy. The cocktail was a ready to drink one (like a truly or white claw) and every flavor the table had was loved all around! The restaurant itself was adorable inside, very aesthetic!! Pound for pound the best restaurant in Southeast MO. Yes, I said it... even over Pilot House, Saffron, Broussard's, Speck, and many other greats. Highly creative menu while still honoring classic dishes. The pies are incredible but this isn't just a pizza joint. The Harvest Salad is the second best salad in town only to the Beet & Kale at 36. The vodka sauce will leave you wanting to drink it but watch out, that cast iron skillet is ripping hot. No need to end up in the ER... although it may be worth it. Stop going to Olive Garden. Don't throw your hard earned money at bad food. Get to this spot asap & thank me later. I believe it's founded by a SEMO Alumni... what more do you want? 10/10. read more

What a cool place. The environment feels like you're at a friends place just cooking for all your close peeps. The Italian sausage dip is 10000/10 w/the sourdough slices. The pizza is amazing. Light, crispy, and chewy (in a great way) dough. They locally source a lot of their ingredients as well which is awesome in my opinion. We got there when it opened and almost immediately it filled up but even with how busy it was the service was amazing. Our waitress was attentive and didn't skip a beat. This must have been a bad night for this place. I ordered a plain cheese pizza and was sorely disappointed. There was very little sauce, basically just enough to add color. The cheese melted almost entirely in the center of the pizza. It really had no flavor and I've had better from Little Caesars to be quite honest. I had heard good things about this place and wanted to like it. Also I had a half Caesar salad and was charged full price. Maybe it was just a bad night for them, I was there at about 6:45 pm on a Monday. Waitress was good though. Only good thing I can say about the place. read more

This is a newish restaurant, so I think a little grace is warranted for some aspects. First of all, the food is phenomenal. Our waitress helped us navigate the small menu (they're still working on a bigger menu). She directed us towards the stuffed mushrooms and boy are those tasty. I'm hit or miss on mushrooms, but they're some of my mom's favorite foods. She said that these were the best mushrooms she'd had in her life. Frankly, I think I agree, but it's much higher praise coming from my mom. The sausage in them is phenomenal too. My husband ordered the lasagna. The bread was good and he said the lasagna was incredible. I tried a bite of his salad, navigating around the croutons. That's some of the best salad dressing I've ever had. Honestly, I'd go back just to eat salad and mushrooms any day of the week. They have a gluten free crust! BUT the crust is not celiac safe. For folks like me, however, it was great. It's a crispy crust (which I like). I had the pepperoni and hot honey pizza. I can see why it's one of their specialties!! Absolutely delicious. My mom had a capicola and mushroom pizza and she liked it. My dad had a sausage and jalapeño pizza. He originally ordered the bacon but switched to sausage when he tried the mushrooms. Ambiance is super cute. Perfect volume for conversation. There is definitely more than one table that seats 4 at this point, and they'll move tables around to accommodate. Finally, our waitress was fantastic. She's also the manager she said, and I can't speak highly enough of her. My husband and I are also new to town, but I can assure you that we will be going back. read more

First visit. Pizza was good. Service was truly awful. Sat 10 min. before anyone approached for orders. Waitress took drink orders then never brought them out. Another staff person noticed and finally brought them. Ordered 2 pizzas and salad. Only got 1 pizza. I was completely done eating before the waitress returned and we asked where the 2nd pizza was. Waitress looked like she had no memory of the second pizza order.....said she forgot to put it in, No apology, then just walked away without a word. My son just watched me eat.. so I shared mine so he had 'something'. They brought out the 2nd pizza and a box since we were done. The very least should of been a comped pizza. Great dinner after a lovely day with my wife. We had a nice dinner here and we enjoyed it a lot! The place is absolutely darling it's absolutely adorable. exposed brick wins always. we had short wait times for everything and the food was great! we started with the homemade garlic bread, which was fantastic- the vodka sauce was great and the marinara (although a bit too wine-y for me) was good too. we shared a hot honey pepperoni pizza which was great and the perfect size for two people. her sweet tea was not sweet enough (we're from the south) next time we will be trying the root beer!! it was a great dinner altogether and we enjoyed it a lot. read more

Came home for a visit during the holidays and my parents suggested this spot. I am very, very picky about pizza. The ratios have to be just right. This was some of my favorite pizza I've had. We had the hot honey pepperoni and it was delicious. Crust was perfect, honey wasn't too much, pepperoni was the good stuff, and sauce and cheese were great. Before that we shared the hot honey fries and these were mind-blowingly good. The fry sauce is came with was not something I'd tasted before, but everyone loved it. The fries were also sooo crispy. Can't wait to go back!! As someone who has access to a ton of artisan pizza spots in STL, this one absolutely rivals them. read more

The salad, was the best I've ever had, followed by a perfectly cooked pizza with just the right fresh ingredients. Encore is an absolute must, I visit Cape G often and really only go to three or four places...Encore just shot to the top of that list. Service is excellent, and everything is neat and tidy. So, this was our first time here and it was very... mid. The workers were very nice! However, they have exactly one table for parties bigger than 4. We had five people and sat in a little back room. It was kinda nice to have the quiet seclusion but just kind of odd lol. Also, the place is so full of smoke from the pizza oven. You can see it in the air heavily and it's been a few hours since we left and we all still smell like smoke and are having eye irritation. The wine glasses we got were also very dusty and cloudy. We ended up just wiping them down with napkins and just going with it. Onto the food. Two of us there were vegetarians so we got the spinach and artichoke pizza. It's only about a 10 inch pizza and it was... okay. It didn't really have a taste, which is hard to explain. Another member of our party got the honey hot pepperoni pizza. There was no hotness to it but a lot of honey just pooled all over the top. Another member got the smash burger, they liked it. And our final member, the person whose birthday we were there for, got the Philly. They said the sandwich itself was spicy and had more bread than filling ratio and that the chips were very salty, but otherwise it tasted fine. We got the chicken fried potatoes as an app and they were VERY good! We waited over 40 minutes from the time we ordered until everyone had their food, which seems long but maybe it's normal? I'm impartial on if it's "worth the price" because prices on things are odd at the moment with the economy. It's what you'd expect to pay going to a locally owned start up restaurant. I wouldn't say it was a *bad* experience, it was just fine. The visit didn't turn me off from ever going there again but it also didn't add the spot to my local favorites. We'll visit again eventually but honestly the smoke is the biggest issue. Just needs better ventilation! Lol read more
