After leaving my cousin's wedding reception a little early, we wanted to find a local brewery for a nightcap. Minglewood Brewery was close to our hotel, so luckily we didn't have to travel far. It was essentially a coin flip as I wanted to also check out Many Good Things Brewery as well. My wife had a get-a-way weekend in Cape last month and actually came by Minglewood twice! The vibe and beer are good, but nothing remarkable. The highlights were the brunch on day 2 and an amazing beer poster! Our dinner food on night 1 was the Reuben (of course) and the pretzel. Both were good. Our bartender wasn't always the most attentive...until he was and then wouldn't leave us alone! I cannot say enough good things about Minglewood! I wouldn't consider myself a big craft beer kind of girl but this place might have changed me. We sat at the bar and were waited on by the nicest bartender ever! He was great at giving recommendations, kindly changed the TV to the game we wanted to watch and called my boyfriend 'Chief' which we both got a kick out of. Don't be fooled by their small menu, the beer and the pies are to die for! We ordered (between the two of us) one of the Margarita Pies and a 5oz glass of every beer they had to offer. While I was partial to the chocolate stout, my boyfriend really liked the Elmer. They really have something that everyone would like here. Absolutely fantastic experience. My wife and I sat at the bar. Wife ordered a mixed drink. I ordered one of their brews, midnight veil. Both were absolutely excellent. The bartender Andrew was fantastic, made two food recommendations, both of which we accepted. Did the southwest chicken quesadilla, and the supreme calzone. Both were absolutely delicious. We stopped by Minglewood for lunch. It was great! The tater tot bowl was fabulous! I recommend not sharing. You will want your own. For our mains, we had the Rueben with soup and the burnt end quesadilla with salads. The sandwiches and quesadillas were fine. The soup was really good. The salads were trash. The mac and beer cheese pizza was good, but I enjoyed the BBQ pizza more as it had more depth. A dipping sauce like ranch or garlic could elevate the pizza, but if you enjoy pasta on your pizza try it out! For drinks I tried the punching stars and really enjoyed how light and refreshing it was, highly recommend if you don't enjoy strong beers. My first time at this restaurant in Cape and it was pretty good. I am here for my annual guys weekend with my friends and we got together here for lunch. I had the Reuben sandwich which comes with tomato bisque soup and a side salad. The sandwich was good and served warm. It tasted good but there was some fat in the corned beef which made it easy to pull all the meat out from the bread when taking a bite. The tomato bisque soup was prepared well but not anything special. The salad was a bowl of mixed greens with a few micro chopped tomatoes. Not really an amazing salad but it was okay. There beer selection seems nice. I had the Elder Elmer which is an ipa style beer. Mildly hoppy but smooth. Our server was friendly and attentive but the food for all my friends came out piece meal instead of all at once. Not her fault but awkward nonetheless. Overall, an okay experience. We stopped here on a work trip and not disappointed. The menu is not super large but has great variety. The taste and quality was great. Had the tri tip sandwich and the loaded baked potato salad. Definitely try that potato salad. Did not partake in any of the beer selections (work trip) but again a nice variety to pick from. Would highly recommend this place. After talking with the bartender I stuck with my original thought and did pizza. I took a chance on the Gourmet Veggie Pizza with tomatoes, spinach, mushrooms and kalamata olives. The crust is made with spent grains from the brewery. The crust is thin and has a great malty taste. The cheese was perfectly melted and browned on top. The veggies were fresh. The cheese blend has 3 different types of mozzarella, Romano and Parmesan cheeses. The bottom crust could have been a little crisper, but the pizza came to the table after only 7 minutes, so it is possible to have awesome pizza for lunch. It is difficult to find a place open for a late lunch that serves pizza. I'm glad I found this place. I'll be back! read more

There is a nice ambiance inside and located close to the river. Plenty of parking behind the place and some on street parking.
