In the opinion of the pharmacy tech, this prescription wasn't written by the dentist, which is illegal.
    Shaun J.

On 11/12/21 I visited the Walnut Creek office with severe tooth pain. I was diagnosed with a dead, infected, cracked molar and sent home with prescriptions for an antibiotic and Norco. When I presented the scripts at my local pharmacy, I was told that they couldn't fill the Norco pain medication. The year of issue and the void date were both 2011, off by a decade. Furthermore the pharmacy technician said that she doubted that the prescribing dentist had actually written the prescription, citing the two mistakes in the year and the lack of a matching signature. The signature which looks like "cle or cb" doesn't match the dentist, Marites Milan in my estimation either. I then called the Walnut Creek office and spoke to the clerk who'd given me the prescriptions. She apologized and promised to call the pharmacy to straighten things out. She was asked to send a new script electronically. The Endo Care clerk claimed she didn't have this capability. Ultimately I spent over four hours filling a prescription which should have taken 20 minutes. This included a trip to the Oakland Endo Care office, and a 2 1/2 hour wait at a second pharmacy, Kaiser, on a Friday afternoon prior to an impending strike on Monday. I have a few questions. Why doesn't Walnut Creek have the ability to amend erroneous prescriptions when they're so sloppy to begin with? What if the errors were in the dosage rather than the date? Why did this prescription strike a pharmacy technician, who's probably seen thousands of them, as likely not written by the licensed prescriber as required by law?

I was referred here by my dentist for a consultation. The whole root canal/crown situation is new to me so I was already nervous and a little worried from the moment I called to make an appointment. The woman who took my call was very abrupt and unfriendly and I felt very much like I was a bother. After setting the appt I spent some time deciding if I would actually follow through or cancel the appt because of how unwelcome I felt even over the phone. I ended up going to the consultation hoping that maybe the attitude was just a fluke (despite other reviews on here..) and hoping that the day of experience would be better. There were two women at the desk when I arrived and the one who assisted me was super friendly and welcoming- thank goodness! I met Dr. Milan for my consult and was instantly put at ease. Dr. Milan MADE my whole experience. She is so warm and friendly and informative, but most importantly I did not feel pressured to pay the extra fees for the CT scan and Gentlewave treatment. She simply gave me the information and told me to take my time deciding if it was right for me, and that if I decided against it, they could absolutely do a traditional root canal. I left my consult feeling much more confident about my upcoming treatment with Dr. Milan. The actual appointment went amazingly, Dr. Milan had a fabulous bedside manner and kept me in the loop about what she was doing throughout the process without over-explaining. I felt perfectly comfortable to speak up and ask for a break if needed, and she did a great job numbing. Overall I found myself sitting in the dental chair during the treatment thinking to myself, "This is way easier than a tattoo!" At checkout I found myself faced with the same woman who made my appointment and it seems that the clipped, cool tone is just part of her personality. She still was not warm or friendly but speaking with her face to face I didn't feel like I was as much of a bother as I had the first time we spoke. But if I could leave a note I would remind the desk and support staff that for a lot of people this treatment feels like a big deal and we are nervous going in! A welcoming tone and a smile would go a long way with helping put us at ease. Thank you Dr. Milan for being amazing!!!!

The staff was so professional and kind once again I keep saying it, but they are just so kind and caring! It is the overall feeling you come away with. The whole procedure with the x-rays and the numbing and the root canal took about an hour and 15 minutes so that was the only thing that wasn't true because the receptionist told me it would take an hour in and out because I was concerned about leaving my new puppy home alone, but I don't even know how it could've been exactly an hour so I didn't have a problem with that. I highly highly recommend Ryan endodontics.

Remained painful and when I went back a week later he confused me with another patient that had been in 2 days previous, and told me just to tough it out. And their billing procedures are unethical. When I didn't, I inquired again and was told I had received a laser treatment of $130 (which I DIDN'T) that insurance did not cover, so would NOT be receiving my refund due. :-( Also - WHILE I was having my 2nd root canal the assistant was singing along to the canned music, and she and Dr Winig were gossiping office politics - apparently neither wanted to work with Dr, Jensen now that Talebi was gone!! It was actually very traumatic, and I have avoided root canals since then, despite the fact that I honestly need to have one. When I started having terrible tooth pain in a recently crowned tooth, I had no choice but to find a new Endodontist. I am so lucky to have found Dr. Jensen. She is not only amazingly talented, but her office is very modern and up to date with all the new technology. Her staff was lovely and so welcoming. I had my root canal yesterday, and it was actually painless. Dr. Jensen is very skilled at giving injections and assured me I would be numb before my procedure. I also used Nitrous for the first time, and it helped to calm my nerves as well. My tooth is no longer in pain, and I feel so lucky to have found an endodontist that I can return to. I see more root canals in my future, but I am no longer fearful of them. I felt cared for by her and her entire staff.

My prosthodontist had no reservations recommending Dr. Jensen for a needed root canal in preparation for a couple of implants next to the said tooth. What a blessing Dr. Jensen is to the profession of dentistry, in particular to Endodontics. The whole experience was customer service extraordinaire. The receptionist was a delightful, engaging, comedic, expectant mom. They hadn't received the x-ray imaging from the lab and had to do them again in their office at no charge. Every step of the way was professional courtesy, with Dr. Jensen being the epitome of excellence. She explained in detail the root canal in question, what needed to be done and that her aide (who took all the imaging) was also training a promising young man in all aspects of the instruments used and the procedure steps to aide Dr. Jensen. Truly a respectful, caring learning experience. Dr. Jensen approach in providing pertinent information, her personal care, her mastery of her craft, from Novocain, drilling, cleaning and filling the tooth back to normalcy with exceptional skill, was soothing comfort. And, delightfully, during the procedure she would softly hum a soft tune for a few seconds...what comfort and smiles she provided. Basically, a wonderful experience with kindhearted staff and a remarkable, compassionate, and masterful Dr. Jensen.

It was an easy process. Francisco, Dr. Dadvand's assistant, made sure I was comfortable. He gave me pillows for my neck and back, and dark glasses for my light sensitive eyes. Since I walk with a cane, the dental room is equipped with an x-ray machine. This is a nice accommodation from getting up and moving from room to room. You can rest in your dental chair while getting x-rays in the same room as your procedure. Dr. Dadvand arrived in the room and greeted me. She explained the procedure. She was very professional and understanding. She has a calming voice which made me feel at ease. The procedure took longer than expected. I am glad Dr. Dadvand took her time to make sure the root canal went perfect. The only thing that may be uncomfortable were the shots. Once you are numb, the procedure was painless. I highly recommend this office. You will be in great hands.

Later, when my insurance covered exactly zero dollars, they said I must have had recent work done. I hadn't. I'm guessing I am not their average Mercedes driving client. I was in a lot of pain, so not sure I would have had a better option, but to have been fully informed is so much better than being told your insurance will cover it only to have a massive bill and have to sweat paying rent. I know we as patients have some responsibility to know things, but insurance is often unclear to non-medical people. Medical offices deal with insurance every day. I have rarely done more than cleanings. This is new to me. I would hope a provider has their patients best interest in mind. It didn't feel like they did here.
