The receptionist Yasmin explained everything thoroughly to me about my insurance and provided me with the cost estimate before my appointment when I asked. I had called around to other offices that seemed very annoyed at my questions to them. This was entirely different. When I arrived, she was super welcoming and genuinely put me at ease. Teddy, his assistant, was such a pleasure to work with and very professional. Dr. Nazeri performed a root canal on me and did a wonderful job. It was my first one and he was patient answering all of my questions and explaining the cause, diagnosis, and procedure. It was on a back molar that had a crack due to an old cavity filling from when I was a kid. My tooth had 4 root canals in it which is more than most people, which required more work. However he finished the procedure in one appointment and it felt like he was very skilled. I felt no pain and he handled the whole operation expertly. Overall a Great experience! I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Endo Care and especially Dr. Erfan Nazeri for the outstanding treatment I received. Dr. Nazeri performed a root canal on my upper back molar, which was similar to a difficult root canal I had previously on the opposite side. Due to the significant amount of infection, the treatment was originally expected to require two separate sessions. However, thanks to Dr. Nazeri's expertise and skill, he was able to complete the entire procedure in just one visit. Most importantly, I experienced absolutely no pain during the treatment and no discomfort afterward. In addition, the cost of the procedure was very reasonable. I've come here twice, first time (last year) I was so impressed by the staff and the dentist that I decided it would be my go-to place for root canals. Not sure how everything went downhill within a year, I went earlier this year and first, they scheduled me to a diff location so I had to reschedule and come back, not to mention time taken away from work. They forgot to mention my out of pocket too. Ana at front desk has an attitude that is annoying and unapologetic. Dr. Nazeri pulled out my crown and broke the tooth underneath, I got no explanation why the crown had to be pulled out. He gave me the crown to me and told me to go to the dentist to fix it back. The dentist pointed the tooth underneath is now broken and needs to be reconstructed and needs a new crown. Now I've spent extra on a crown and time spent on running around for all this. read more

Worst experience ever. My general dentist is a family member and is 1.5 hours away. I needed a root canal re-done and told them I would find somewhere local. I called the office, they requested the CT on a CD. The office manager and referring dentist talked to them a few times. I received the CD and called back for the appt. I show up for the appt, they tell me they don't have the referral and cannot open the CD. I told them they have talked to the referring desist a few times. The dentist talks to me a a rude demeaning tone, "the referral is a piece of paper." I understand that obviously. The referral should have been sent via email. And how can I make an appt without a referral. They take x-rays and asked me what tooth it was. I told them one of the uppers with the crown. I am obviously not a dentist and don't know the tooth number. They then tell me, without the referral and without knowing what tooth, they can't help me. So I walked out. I better not be charged! If you take the x-ray, you should be able to see in infected tooth. I had the overwhelming feeling of incompetence and will not be allowing them to work on my teeth. The whole experience was unpleasant. No one likes to go to the dentist, so when you encounter unprofessional and disrespectful staff all I could think was I needed to go somewhere else. read more

Called the Office and booked an appointment for a re-do root canal & a consultation with DR. Nazeri. I stated that I have Humana Metidicare senior PPO. She was unable to give me a price for the service without checking with the insurance first. The issue cam up with the Consultation. I clearly stated that I had no coverage for this & asked the fee. She refused to say what their Consultation charge was & said I would find out on my appointment day. I gave a 1 star & would give a 0 star if I could. Overall. a terrible experience . read more

Called with a referral for a root canal. Provided all necessary information to receive a quote for services. Made an appointment at that time. Was told a quote would be provided to me in 24 hours to make sure that my insurance is accepted. 3 Days later called back asking for that quote, they still hadn't contacted my insurance. Called back 2 days after that asking for the quote. Was told they will work on it immediately. Mind you, this is over a week from the first call and two business days from the appointment. Expressed concern that the patient is in pain and we've been trying to get them a root canal for over 3 months. Office calls back and "and e don't actually accept your insurance". Are you for real? I recently had a troubling experience at EndoCare Group Endodontist. During my visit, the assistant insisted that a CT scan was necessary for my root canal. Trusting their professional judgment, I agreed to the procedure. Also, they told me CT is covered by my insurance. However, they asked for 3 more x-rays right after. I asked why 3 additional x-rays are needed if they have a CT? The assistant tried to sell me this as something for insurance purposes. After they saw I work for hospital as a rad tech, the doctor agreed that 3 x-rays are not needed anymore. *After the appointment, I discovered through my insurance that the CT scan was not needed and, of course, not payed by my insurance ($200).* *In addition to unnecessary scans, they tried sneaking in additional cost (~$400) for using some additional technology that was not discussed beforehand with me and is not covered by a regular insurance. When I confronted the front desk person about that, I was told it was optional. So I refused the additional technology that was not covered. When I received my bill, they wanted to charge me for both the CT scan and an additional service that I had explicitly declined upfront. This was extremely frustrating, as I felt misled about the necessity of the CT scan/xrays and disregarded regarding the service I refused. When I contacted the office to discuss the charges, the staff was dismissive and tell me I have to pay. They couldn't provide a satisfactory explanation for why the CT scan was deemed necessary or why the additional service was performed against my wishes. It took multiple calls and a lot of persistence to get any resolution. I'll pay the bill but will never come back here again. While the dental care itself was decent, the lack of transparency and the misleading information about the CT scan are unacceptable. If you choose to go to EndoCare Group Endodontist, I highly recommend getting a second opinion for any suggested procedures and carefully reviewing your bill. This experience has left me looking for a new dental office that values patient consent and clear communication. read more

I had my first ever root canal today and I received amazing care. Everyone is professional, courteous and kind. I would highly recommend them for all your dental root needs. My experience was mixed. I cracked a molar and was in some real intense pain for three weeks. I then got my referral towards getting a root canal. I called to get an appt. When I first called I was okay with the fact that the receptionist quoted me for a CT scan of $225. However when I got my reminder call they then quoted me for an additional laser! I was wondering why the price went up. The CT and laser are both options but it made it seem like it was necessary based on the phone quote. Three stars for the actual visit. I entered the building which was hard to find as it's on the side of the building and not seen from the Main Street (N. Wiget). The office is clean, calming and nice. The dental assistant was nice and helped calm my nerves. Dr. Milan's bedside manner is stern and not mean but not overly friendly either however she got the job done. We did the CT which took a few minutes. Then Dr. Milan numbed me up and got to work. An hour and a half later I was ready to go. They checked me out and gave me a follow up plan and ibuprofen. I would recommend this place but just advocate for yourself in terms of what is comfortable for you and what you are willing to pay for. read more

On 11/12/21 I visited the Walnut Creek office with severe tooth pain. I was diagnosed with a dead, infected, cracked molar and sent home with prescriptions for an antibiotic and Norco. When I presented the scripts at my local pharmacy, I was told that they couldn't fill the Norco pain medication. The year of issue and the void date were both 2011, off by a decade. Furthermore the pharmacy technician said that she doubted that the prescribing dentist had actually written the prescription, citing the two mistakes in the year and the lack of a matching signature. The signature which looks like "cle or cb" doesn't match the dentist, Marites Milan in my estimation either. I then called the Walnut Creek office and spoke to the clerk who'd given me the prescriptions. She apologized and promised to call the pharmacy to straighten things out. She was asked to send a new script electronically. The Endo Care clerk claimed she didn't have this capability. Ultimately I spent over four hours filling a prescription which should have taken 20 minutes. This included a trip to the Oakland Endo Care office, and a 2 1/2 hour wait at a second pharmacy, Kaiser, on a Friday afternoon prior to an impending strike on Monday. I have a few questions. Why doesn't Walnut Creek have the ability to amend erroneous prescriptions when they're so sloppy to begin with? What if the errors were in the dosage rather than the date? Why did this prescription strike a pharmacy technician, who's probably seen thousands of them, as likely not written by the licensed prescriber as required by law? read more

I was referred here by my dentist for a consultation. The whole root canal/crown situation is new to me so I was already nervous and a little worried from the moment I called to make an appointment. The woman who took my call was very abrupt and unfriendly and I felt very much like I was a bother. After setting the appt I spent some time deciding if I would actually follow through or cancel the appt because of how unwelcome I felt even over the phone. I ended up going to the consultation hoping that maybe the attitude was just a fluke (despite other reviews on here..) and hoping that the day of experience would be better. There were two women at the desk when I arrived and the one who assisted me was super friendly and welcoming- thank goodness! I met Dr. Milan for my consult and was instantly put at ease. Dr. Milan MADE my whole experience. She is so warm and friendly and informative, but most importantly I did not feel pressured to pay the extra fees for the CT scan and Gentlewave treatment. She simply gave me the information and told me to take my time deciding if it was right for me, and that if I decided against it, they could absolutely do a traditional root canal. I left my consult feeling much more confident about my upcoming treatment with Dr. Milan. The actual appointment went amazingly, Dr. Milan had a fabulous bedside manner and kept me in the loop about what she was doing throughout the process without over-explaining. I felt perfectly comfortable to speak up and ask for a break if needed, and she did a great job numbing. Overall I found myself sitting in the dental chair during the treatment thinking to myself, "This is way easier than a tattoo!" At checkout I found myself faced with the same woman who made my appointment and it seems that the clipped, cool tone is just part of her personality. She still was not warm or friendly but speaking with her face to face I didn't feel like I was as much of a bother as I had the first time we spoke. But if I could leave a note I would remind the desk and support staff that for a lot of people this treatment feels like a big deal and we are nervous going in! I was referred to Endo by my regular dentist. A root canal isn't the most desired procedure but if you have to get one, I would highly recommend coming here. Surprisingly, the actual procedure was pain free and very quick. Dr. Hamid is very funny and helps you keep you mind off of the work being performed. The offices are modern and very clean. The entire team was very helpful and nice. They provide estimated costs upfront so you know in advance what you are getting into. I had a root canal done here in December 2022 and got an infection. I went in, in horrible pain, to ask for X-rays and antibiotics and was refused service by the front desk by a woman who was the rudest person I have ever encountered in a place of care. She turned me away and i went to my general dentist who treated me immediately, and it was an infection. I will never understand why she thought it was ok to ignore such a serious request and wouldn't even check with the dentist. Horrible experience!!! read more

Happy to say I had a great experience here today. I'm a chiropractor so I know about running a health care office because I have done so for 20 years. Not only was Dr Hamid friendly, courteous, efficient with time, and talented at his job, but his staff were incredible too. They really seem to prioritize communication in this office, and that's what I consider excellent customer service. The woman at the front desk was clear with me about my paperwork, and then Mari assisted my procedures. She introduced herself, and did a great job explaining to me what was going to happen. Then another woman made sure I understood all the charges *before* we got started. I so appreciated that because I've had lots of experiences where I felt surprised and "ripped off" by other medical doctors and hospitals. She even patiently listened to me tell her about a past incident (I was in pain and having someone really listen to me was a great comfort). Getting a root canal wasn't a fun thing to do, I admit, but if I had to go through that, I'm glad I found Endo Care. They did a really great job. This is a response to Carmen C. who accused a female Dr. of being dishonest and to "keep walking" if they suggest a 3D X-ray: I had a female Dr., Dr Barnes, however they have multiple female doctors. She had her assistant do a normal X-ray and it didn't suggest that a root canal was needed. She said a 3D X-ray would give more detail and that it would cost an additional $200. (It is basically a CT scan of your mouth and because I had severe tooth pain on this tooth, I agreed on the 3D X-ray, even though I remembered reading that Carmen C. said not to.) Best $200 I ever spent. The 3D scan showed root inflammation. They performed the root canal and now I am well! Having spent my whole career in sales I know when I am getting hustled and there was no hustling involved. They are even burning a CD and sending my regular dentist the full mouth X-ray at NO CHARGE. I just came back from a root canal here about 30 min ago lol. I have been in a lot of pain for the past two weeks due to the filling/nerve in my lower left molar being wack. I went to see my primary dentist, and she told me I need a root canal. As a college student, I was panicking about how to handle the pain because I have zero extra time in my schedule to fit in a consultation or surgery. Endodontists near my college campus either had bad reviews or weren't network care providers for my dental insurance. Endocare at Shadelands ended up being my saving grace--my mom had previously gotten a root canal here and strongly encouraged me to call them and try to schedule an emergency appointment, and they told me to come in ASAP since they could treat me today. Even with the power outages happening right now, the ladies at the desk were really nice and de-stressed the time spent filling out paperwork. Dr. Milan and her staff (especially Monica who made the procedure really fun) were super nice to me. They constantly updated me on what was happening inside my mouth and I was so relaxed I actually started to doze off a couple times. Additionally, I was able to receive the Gentle Wave root canal procedure and my mom was lowkey envious because it took way less time than her surgery had--plus I got to see a 3D X-ray of my skull with cross-sections of my nerves, which was real neat. The staff here is incredibly professional and kind! I came to EndoCare after I cracked my tooth while vacationing in Mexico and figured I would need a root canal and crown. I was devastated. Never in my years did I even have a cavity and came off a horrible wisdom tooth procedure. However, I was warmly greeted by Ana and she immediately got me in with Dr. Milan. After a thorough exam by Monica and Dr. Milan, unbeknownst I had a cavity which was why my tooth cracked. It turned out that it didn't require a root canal, but instead a filling. Sweet relief. I feel like they could have sent me somewhere else to do the filling, but they took excellent care of me. If ever I need a specialist, I'm coming to EndoCare. You guys are AMAZING! read more

There were a number of administrative issues that results into this review. The first insurance processing. After confirming a per-authorization was done, Endo asked I pay a 300% of estimated invoice. Then violating HIPAA security rules send the invoice to my wife. They did not process the insurance through my primary insurance at all. It took months to get them to respond to my emails and they did not try to resolve the insurance issue. At the end of the day, the administration of the Endo is incompetent. If you new real dental surgery with a good experience, DO NOT GO TO Endo. read more

Okay none of us like getting a root cana or whatever, I get it. It's painful and expensive. That said, I've been here so many times because my teeth are terrible. Usually I see Dr Hamid who is always very friendly and professional, as well as kind. My procedures are always pain free and if for any reason I have a problem afterwards the staff is always there helping me out. Shoutout to the two anas at the front desk. Most recently I had the pleasure of working with Dr Yassi who worked with my dentist and generously made sure I was able to receive the treatment I needed and get out of the terrible pain even though I'm currently in an extremely low income situation. She is so warm and kind and when something was wrong with my tooth she knew exactly what it was and how to fix it. When she finally saw me not dying in pain she seemed so happy she gave me a big hug. She definitely cares genuinely for her patients. Final shoutout to Monica the assistant who always keeps me laughing during these annoying procedures and has held my hand more than once if I got anxious. Thanks a lot queen I appreciate you. Anna (Ana?), the front desk person went out of her way to be rude, combative and confrontational with me when I had to cancel last minute. Why did I have to cancel so last minute? I've been caught up with a family emergency, and literally didn't have phone service until I called. I've been so caught up that I really had forgotten about my appointment until the reminder on my phone went off, at which point I made it a point to find phone service and call. Before my experience with her, this place had been very nice and helpful (hence the 2 stars, rather than 1). But she definitely left a bad taste in my mouth (no pun intended). I completely understand the frustration with patients who have to cancel last minute, and I was extremely apologetic. A simple "thanks for letting us know- we do have a policy about 24 hours notice, so expect a bill" would have been appropriate and professional. But she seemed to be looking for a confrontation and wanted to argue. For example, when I said I wouldn't be there, and said I only just had the chance to call, she said "we literally called you yesterday morning! You really didn't get our voicemail until now?!" And I didn't want to explain my entire life, so I simply said no, and she sarcastically said something along the lines of "that's convenient." I have never had a more combative, rude doctors office experience. Sad that an otherwise lovely place has her as someone answering the phones and dealing with patients. She also lied to me about whether or not her manager was there when I asked to speak with her manager after her extremely combative behavior because when I continued to push to speak with someone else, I did eventually speak with the manager. I will chalk part of it up to her having a bad day (I genuinely can't understand why else someone would be so overly rude about something so ultimately trivial- I'd get a late-fee bill either way. I should've just not called and I would've avoided her rudeness) but I will be following up with emails in the coming days when I have a chance. This is a review of my experience with the Walnut Creek branch and the doctor who served me. The facility is very clean, everything looks new with apparently state of the art equipment. The 3D imagining clearly spots the whole picture of the area of concern and leaves no doubt about what is going on. The procedure was painless. My tooth had received a root canal long ago and was also covered with a gold crown that had to be worked with. So I assume that is somewhat involved. Dr. Milan was very good with a quiet fastidious manner and the same could be said of both assistant techs. It took a few hours over two visits a week apart. I know root canals are expensive, but with the staff, and time and all new equipment that steers every action, it is almost a bargain! read more

After reading reviews on local endodontists I finally decided to go to Shadelands Endodontics. My reservations kept me from booking the day before I decided to call because of my pst experience...back in high school the guy didn't know how to use the nitrous gas and I felt every probe after 6 shots to numb The bonus is Shadelands has Saturday appt which worked out great because I didn't phone in on time but luckily the spot was still there when I called Saturday morning! They got me in and got in done. All along the way, I was shaking like a leaf because I was terrified by the sounds and smell that brought back memories... But Dr. Hamid kept reassuring me things were fine, kept me informed, and kept telling me almost finished. Along the way, he did a CT scan and several x-rays to confirm things are progressing and no surprises were encountered (I kept waiting for the uh-oh that never came). I probably hit my quota of x-ray exposure but hey...it put me at ease and restored my faith!!! The whole thing seemed like a lifetime but was about 1 hr 15 min from consultation to conclusion By the time I was done, I was ready for lunch! How do you give 5 Stars for a root canal? Still have a head full of Novacaine? Nope. Shadelands Endodontics does every thing right. The facility is state of the art, the design and ambiance are modern and calming. Melinda at the front desk walks you through the billing before you start and answers any questions. Dr. Gulden and her assistants were gentle, caring and very thorough. She even uses a microscope to perform exacting and perfect work. She even made it as pain free a procedure as possible, taking care to continuously check my comfort level. While I don't enjoy dental work, and who really does, Dr Gulden is a great Endodontist with considerable skills. I can see why Dr Cavalli, my dentist, refers his patients here for root canals.
