Stay away!!! A root canal that he did is now infectious and should be re-done. Worst doctor ever.

I am genuinely grateful for this practice. I needed a root canal and was terrified because I didn't…read moreknow what to expect. When I called to schedule a consultation, I didn't have much discomfort, just a sense that something under my crown didn't feel right. I was hoping to delay the procedure for as long as possible, but the receptionist encouraged me to come in sooner. Within a couple of days after my initial call, what started as intermittent nagging sensitivity turned into throbbing pain, making it hard for me to concentrate at work. I was relieved that the receptionist had me come in when she did. I met with Dr. Wong, who eased my anxiety. He was able to squeeze me in the following day for the procedure after my consultation. The nurses and staff were excellent; they knew what they were doing and were very professional. Dr. Wong explained everything to me, and the procedure, dare I say, was easy? They allowed me to choose a movie to watch as a distraction, and honestly, I didn't care what was playing. I thought I'd be wincing and clutching the side of my seat, but I truly didn't feel any pain at all--only vibration and pressure. I was able to enjoy nearly an entire movie. The entire event took about 1.5 hours. I am still recovering and have been told that any soreness may take a bit to subside, but it's nothing compared to the pain I experienced before. I don't wish a root canal on anyone, but if you have to get one, this is the place to go. They stayed late for me and looked tired when they were finished. I wanted to hug them before I left because I was so thankful.

Near the end of my root canal, Dr. Stephanie Lee exclaimed, "we preserved the anatomy of the tooth!…read moreTooth anatomy is so beautiful." Beautiful? I looked to Betty, the dental assistant to whom I had clung during the procedure as if she'd looked after me since a time before teeth sprung up through my gums. Betty smiled warmly and asked for the umpteenth time, "how are you doing?" I attempted a half-mouthed smile. I had heard my teeth called many things, but never beautiful. You see, bad teeth were the unfortunate inheritance granted me by my father. "Bad," such an ugly word--full of the shame of childhood. No matter how I brushed, and flossed, and scrubbed, and rinsed, and brushed again, the fault always seemed to add up to my own poor performance. That's what old, white haired, men seemed to think anyway. And, old, white haired men have seldom learned to keep their own pearly white opinions behind closed lips. This new word, "beautiful," brushed my numb cheek with a gentleness and an insight so different from those unkempt gentlemen. It eased away a layer of shame and lifted a pound or two of anxiety. Dr. Lee and Betty had no malice in their prescription for post-surgical care. They had to judgement for the tears I had cried as they leaned back the chair or the squeaking noise that had escaped me during the injections. They thought my tooth was beautiful--even as it required drills and paste--beautiful. I suppose the world shifts one tooth at a time.

Integrity, empathy and a pain free experience…read more Dr Brown is AMAZING!!! I underwent a root canal with him today and can honestly say, he is the gold standard of care. I originally saw him a few days ago because I was concerned about the original pain in my upper quadrant but also referred pain in the lower quadrant. Rather than pushing for a procedure immediately, Dr. Brown showed incredible integrity. He told me he wasn't 100% sure yet and didn't want to move forward until I developed specific symptoms that would definitively confirm a root canal was necessary, and said he would check in with me via phone two days later. I truly appreciated his 'wait and see' approach- it engendered so much trust. The office itself is perfect- it doesn't feel like a daunting clinical setting. It feels intimate, warm and comfortable, which immediately lowers your stress levels. And what incredible views of the city! My experience was entirely pain-free and seamless. It went by so quickly! As someone who struggles with a bit of claustrophobia, I was worried about the dental dam, which I told him about beforehand. He sat next to me- 'with' me and really listened, assuaging my fears, offering a solution, seamlessly placing it and cutting it away from my nose and pulling it a bit out on one side so I could breathe easily and feel in control. Dr. Brown is a consummate professional with a perfect effortless wit. He is incredibly charismatic and uses his humor in a way that is perfectly timed to put you at ease and make the environment feel lighthearted. What sets him apart, is that he is truly 'in it' with you. There isn't a trace of ego or stiffness about him; he is incredibly down to earth and relatable. He sits with you, and makes you feel completely aligned, like you are a team working together. He drew out the plan beforehand and gave me constant updates throughout the procedure (i.e., We're halfway done,' or "I'll be drilling for just a minute'). Feeling safe and heard is the most important thing to me. I believe it is a vital caveat for anyone visiting a doctor; the physiological and psychological warmth of the environment is just as important as the clinical work. When a patient is put at ease by the reassuring presence and trustworthiness of their doctor, it makes all the difference in the world. Dr. Brown provides exactly that. If you are nervous about dental work, this is the doctor you want in your corner! Thank you so much Dr. Brown. :)
