I can't believe I haven't written this review! The day before I was to head out for a trip I had terrible pain in one of my back lower teeth. I went to my dentist who said "I think you need a root canal, I'll give you a referral to Dr. DeLeon." This with my flight less than 24 hours away. I asked if Dr. DeLeon would even be able to see me. The answer "She'll get you in!" She did and did great work, getting me in a much better place pain wise, good advice on what to do in the next week and a good discussion of all my options. Root canals are not awesome, but if you're in need Dr. DeLeon is great choice to do the work. read more

I've had about 7 root canals in my life and Dr De Leon far exceeds what others have done in the past. My tooth was messed up and rather than completing a procedure in one or two visits (which many endodontists do - quick to collect the cash), she took the time and effort to take it slow and steady which saved the tooth from needing to be extracted and getting an implant (which I have also had and that is a horrible process). If not for her measured pace and carful attention to the progress I avoid an imminent extraction. Her crew is very nice and diligent too. Highly recommended if you want quality. read more

Every dentist I went to, who took initial x-rays of my teeth, all told me that my teeth that needed the root canal was going to be difficult. Most suggested to get an extraction - to go the "easy route". I did not want to lose that tooth because in the long run it would cost me more money out-of-pocket now and eventually later when I have to get a different procedure done. Plus, that particular tooth was vital to how I chew and grind food to eat. I was referred to a Dr. De Leon. She was confident and was determined to save my tooth and work with me. She was kind enough to take me in on such short notice. During intake, she explained what is going on in my x-ray, what her goals were, how she plans to tackle each session. During each treatment, she was gentle and made sure I was comfortable. Although that tooth was challenging to work with, she never made me feel uneasy and anxious. End result, I am no longer in pain and my tooth was saved. I am glad I was referred to her to get my root canal done. I would totally recommend my friends/family to go to her if ever they needed a root canal. In addition, the front desk assistant was so accommodating and sweet. She help breakdown the payment/cost of treatment before I proceeded with any treatment sessions at their office/clinic. I haven't even finished my dental treatment yet but I know I'm in good hands. Dr. DeLeon was able to fit me in right away for the initial exam which was very helpful. As we were discussing the treatment plan to fix my issue she could see that I was getting a little emotional about it. She asked me very kindly what was going on and I explained it was about the time off work and monetary commitment...she showed significant empathy and patience. She found a time slot for the treatment that would work for me and immediately had her staff member come over and talk about my cost vs insurance. Nobody likes to get major dental work done but she left me feeling much better about everything. read more

Words really can't describe the appreciation I have for Dr. DeLeon and her staff. A few weeks ago I was on travel to San Francisco from out of state when I developed a severe toothache/infection. Dr. DeLeon not only took me in on an emergency basis but treated me with compassion and care unlike I think I've ever experienced by any medical professional. In addition she spent extra time educating me on the details of my medical situation. In today's world this was comforting and reassuring enough but she and her assistants followed up with me to check on my status after the emergency care; this was above and beyond my expectation. Anyone who has the good fortune have an opportunity to be treated by Dr DeLeon would be wise to do so and should feel confident that you will be treated with extraordinary care. read more

I think it's about time SOMEONE updated on this place! Dr. De Leon and her staff are very kind and friendly. They answered all my questions very thoroughly and I tend to ask a LOT of questions but they were so patient! I've had this toothache for quite sometime but due to a busy schedule, I had to postpone my appointment a month later. They were very nice and said that's fine but if the pain becomes unbearable, I should call in and they will squeeze me in whenever. HOW NICE IS THAT!? Before my treatment, she told me to put these tinted glasses on. I asked her why. And she told me because the light is going to be very bright and this will protect my eyes. OMG I am dying in kindness here! They let me listen to my music. They gave OTC medicines in place of crazy strong prescription drugs (IDK if I should be proud of that hah) Such a pleasant place to be during a stressful and painful time. My rating of "not good" relates to my single encounter with Dr. DeLeon and her office and probably will not reflect your experience. There are two incidents which resulted in this negative review but neither of which relate to professional performance or competence. First, after asking my occupations, Dr. DeLeon then entered into an police style interrogation of that could be designed to determine the truthfulness of one's answers. She then did describe a proposed treatment plan. Second, was the question of payment for the proposed treatment and the desire to have that paid yet during the 2020 insurance year. Her office was going to check into that and get back to me in a few days. It never did. The opportunity to have the claimant made and paid in 2020 was lost. I have to date not heard from Dr. DeLeon's office and in light of the passage of time expect that I will not hear from it. read more

Dr. De Leon and Sheryl are actual saints. I just moved to the city a month or so ago and was in unbelievable pain due to a dying molar that desperately needed a root canal. When I called the office and spoke to Sheryl she was not only incredibly kind, but she called me back 4-5 times throughout the day to make sure that I got an appointment secured. They even managed to squeeze me in the same day. Dr. De Leon could have easily gone home for the day but instead, she decided to stick around and help a complete stranger get out of pain. Also, they both were so patient and took the time to explain the procedure, my benefits, what was covered, and every minute detail. They deserve 10 stars, each. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. De Leon if you want to be treated by a compassionate, very capable doctor. read more

I am so happy I came here. My worst nightmare is getting a root canal I put it off for so long even though my mom told me from experience that she is the best. I was terrefied but once I came in I realized I was in good hands. My anxiety was the worst thing about today but Dr Dr leon patience with me really helped me. She waited until I stopped shaking to start she gave me all the time I needed and didn't rush me! All in all the procedure was pain free maybe a couple pokes to get numbed but nothing like I thought. I've heard of other dentist who aren't as talented ale it a dreadful experience. I was referred to this doctor for tooth pain, and my experience does not extend to her surgical ability. During the consult, she asked me the same questions that I had already answered on the intake paperwork, and then proceeded to ask me very personal questions about my mental health, concerning my depression and anxiety. I expressed I was uncomfortable answering these, and asked what these had to do with my teeth, and she became mocking and condescending in response. She performed a cold test, and did nothing to prepare me for how badly it hurt. She honestly made me feel very uncomfortable and anxious. If you have past trauma/anxiety associated with going to the doctor or dentist, don't go to her. read more

I had a really hard time with a molar that required a root canal and already had a crown on it. Dr. DeLeon thought she could probably keep the crown and drill thru it to remove the root. She was successful. I felt confident in her abilities and it's all worked out, just as she predicted. She is conscientious, takes all precautions, and is so skilled, that you can sit back and relax that all is being handled in a professional way. I totally recommend her. Even my son is convinced! Now that I have finished Episode II of the Root Canal saga (no prequels, and hopefully no sequels) I would like to amend my review. While I stand by the fact that I don't need to be called 8 times to confirm my appointment, Dr. DeLeon and her staff were extremely helpful through the remainder of my ordeal. Had pain- got pain pills Had potential infection (in my tooth, you pervs)- got antibiotics Broke my foot right before Episode II- they put an ice pack on for me. While I do not wish to repeat one iota of getting a root canal, in the long run, it wasn't that bad. But it could be the pain pills talking, you never know. read more

Dr. De Leon is probably the most professional individual you can come across that will ever see your mouth literally wide-open. In a dire need to relieve myself of the excruciating pain I was enduring this past Saturday, I came across her practice off a referral from another dentist with a 4.5 star rating on Yelp. She was kind enough to squeeze me in to her busy Saturday schedule. Off the bat, you can tell the Dr. De Leon knows her stuff. Dr. De Leon and her office manager Amy will explain to you everything you need to know about a root canal.. and trust me, there is no one you can pick better to pop your root canal cherry than her. One of my pet peeves with dentists are "heavy hands", and best believe this is not a problem with her. Her primary concern is to get you out of pain and she did just that whilst giving me a crash course in the anatomy of human teeth. I truly wish that I would not have to go through the process once again, but if I ever had to, there is no other endodontist I would open my mouth for. read more

I was referred to Dr De Leon by Dr. Velasco for a root canal. I was in a good deal of pain and she got me in at 8am this morning eventhough I had only been referred the day before. I'm a total spazz at the dentist, hate going, am always white knuckling it through whatever they have to do. Dr. De Leon is the first to prescribe a valium and painkillers before I came in for my appointment. By the time my appointment started, I was feeling pretty good. Then they outfitted me with sunglasses, an iPod and numbed me liberally. I never thought it would be possible, but I actually fell asleep while she was woking. As if all that weren't enough, Dr. De Leon actually took the time to shape the temporary material so it doesn't feel like anything was done at all. I simply cannot speak highly enough about her skill or the way she treats her patients. I'm never going to look forward to going to the dentist, but at least now I know I don't have to dread it. I should also mention that Amy is a rockstar. She went out of her way to bill my insurance (I'm double insured through my work and my husbands) so that I ended up with no copay. read more

Dr. DeLeon and her crew were great. The thing I noticed most was the caring and kind attitude of both doctor and staff. They were patient in explaining everything--from the procedure to prices--and very tuned in to my needs and comfort at all times. The doctor seemed thorough and diligent, never rushed. The procedure was much easier than I'd anticipated, with a minimum of discomfort. And the office takes Guardian insurance (which is where I got the referral from). I was referred to Dr De Leon as a new patient needing emergency Endodontic care. Being new to the city and lacking dental insurance I was a little lost! Dr De Leon and her team were great. They saw me the same day, diagnosed the problem and started treatment. They were very fair on the fees as well, and offer a discount for cash in full patients. I'm half way through my second root canal in 9 months. I've been replacing old amalgam fillings that were deep! The first time I saw Dr De Leon I was in a LOT of pain and I was pretty scared. She did her tests and got to work. She numbed me up good! I hardly felt a thing and was relaxed pretty quickly. I was so thankful to her and her team (Amy & Kelly) that I'd have paid double the amount they billed my insurance! This second time I was hurting a fair bit but I went into the office totally relaxed and with no fear. I trust these guys 100%. When my daughter had pain on her lower left molar I new she would need a root canal. As a dentist, I had referred many patients to Dr. De Leon because of her training, reputation and the glowing reports I had received. Dr. De Leon was successful in allaying her apprehensions and completed her treatment without incident. I was so afraid to get a root canal. So afraid that when my dentist referred me back in November of last year I went in for an assessment with Dr. Regina but did not follow up for my scheduled root canal. 7 months later my tooth was still bothering me so I mustard up the courage to call and make an appointment and show up. Dr. Regina was patient and kind and listened to my concerns. She and her staff made feel comfortable and supported me through my anxiety. The procedure was painless except for one of the numbing injections which is to be expected. I was worried about pain after the procedure and the following day but, to my surprise, I felt no pain. I was really impressed with how professional and skilled Dr. Regina is. I would recommend going to her if you need a root canal!!!!! read more

I went to Dr. De Leon for a root canal re-treatment, which is not a procedure I wish for anyone to ever need. However, both Dr. De Leon and her team were both professional and cordial during the course of the visits, and I now have a picture perfect root canal treatment, where all inflammation has subsided, and it looks like it will last forever. Much better than the original treatment a few years before (done elsewhere), clearly demonstrated by comparing the X-rays. And all done while I felt very well and personally treated by the entire team around Dr. De Leon. Highly recommended. read more

Imagine the following: you go in for a root canal, dentist screws it up mid-procedure, asks you to get out of the chair and down a few floors to go see a specialist, an endodontist. I went to Dr. De Leon about a year after having a traumatic dental experience that led to severe anxiety about having work done on my teeth. But, when I started having unbearable pain, I had no choice but to seek help. Dr. De Leon squeezed me in, day of, and she and her staff were so friendly and helpful. Broke a tooth on Saturday night..On Monday morning, my dentist, Dr. Rahbar concluded I needed a root canal and a crown. She got me into see Dr. DeLeon at 11:30AM the same day. Dr. De Leon, as others have written was very thorough and explained what need to be done. He office manager explained the costs. Two and a half hours later not only was the root canal completely done (normally these take two sessions) but she prepped the tooth so it was further along for getting the crown done. The procedure took a little over two hours. I asked for the nitrous oxide, put on a headset and was zoned out. No pain afterwards. This lady is a champ! read more

I have been going to Dr. De Leon's office close to a year now, a long journey to take care of a tooth as not to get an implant. She has been very gracious, and took care of me and the tooth so well, I don't get so tight on the dental chair, but comfortable and know that she'll take care of the problem. I have been seeing Dr. De Leon for about 6 years. I can say without a doubt that she does great, lasting work and gives very solid advice. I'm one of the unfortunate people who has had to have many root canals in his life, but the bright side is they were relatively painless (the only minor and brief pain is getting the needle for the anesthesia - after that, all good). I loved Dr. De Leon, she picked up right away I was nervous and anxious about the procedure, (2 root canals) she offered gas, and gave me a small magic pill. [valium] I was soooooo relaxed thru the whole procedure, I even fell asleep! she had to put a big old black rubber block thing in my mouth to hold it open...LOL!! I've had more than my far share of root canals and I have to say that this was by far my best experience. Dr. De Leon is very professional and gives the best injections because thinking back I never felt the needle go in as I did with others before. Never thought I would say this about getting a root canal, but for the first time in my life, I actually didn't mind getting it done coz it wasn't painful!!!!! Seriously, I only took ONE Advil for the entire procedure, that's how skilled Dr.DeLeon is. Impressive! No bruising, no pain, no headache, I almost forgot I had a root canal done the next day. Besides that, everybody at the office was so nice and accommodating. Amy and Kelly were extremely friendly, that really helped to put me at ease since it was my first time there, and I was very nervous ( who likes to get their root canal done?!) Then of course, there's Dr. DeLeon... what a wonderful lady, she's very calm and gentle, and makes sure to explain what she's gonna do the entire time. I felt very comfortable and confident that I was in good hands... And I was absolutely right!
