The lockers and showers are kinda gross. The owner is constantly turning off the sauna, checking the heat/AC. It's like working out at grandpa's house. But found XP Fitness and I'm super glad I did. The owner quickly got me set up with a day pass and made it clear his goal was for the gym to be inclusive and welcoming to everyone regardless of your fitness goals. Really friendly and kind. He showed me to the powerlifting room which had all kinds of bars, power bars, competition bench, Thompson fat pads, platforms, and rogue power racks (and chalk!). The gym was clean, had great machines selections (always excited to see a belt squat). Would 100% recommend this gym to anyone looking. Wish I had this gym near my own home town! I've had some very bad experiences with some so called trainers, only to find out that they went through a two week training class. Melanie has made personal training her life's work. It's a comfort to me that she has not only been Certified as an ELITE trainer, but that she's also taught about her craft at the college level. Her upbeat, caring attitude and her amazing skills and knowledge make her tops of my list. Sorry to see her move away.. but I know she will be a gift to the people of Hilton Head.

A friend and I would meet with Mel once a week and she kept our training individual even though it was a group workout. I have never felt so good after my workouts.
