Will aka Billiam was the one who gave us our bid and also came out to do the work and I cannot stress enough how nice and professional he was. He explained the work thoroughly and in a way that was easy for us to get, he made sure to get a hold of me and explain if something had arisen and was able to walk my wife and I through what needed to change from our initial estimate and and he cleaned up after himself as well. He felt like a guy I'd want to hang out with outside of an instance like this and was very personable. He was quick and prompt at handling the work we initially called him out for. We have a lot going on in our lives and no one wants an unexpected cost like this to hinder their plans like this one almost did, not only was Andy's Pipe Dream and their technician Will well priced and willing to back up their work, the were also excellent to interact with and it helped make the process of spending this much money on a necessary expense like this with them a no brainer and eased our concerns. In the future we will be using them again for any issues we might need fixed.

However, the ease of booking, quality of communication, and effectiveness of Andy's Pipe Dream was all good in my book. I do find the prices plumbers (and I mean all plumbers here) set to be about 20% too high, especially after I've tackled some of the projects and they just don't line up to the quotes, so I'll get that out of the way. However, they were there to provide a free estimate which is rare in the plumbing world, and has me leaning towards making them my go-to in the future. I was about to be traveling and didn't have the bandwidth to replace the garbage disposal. Add in some added complications with replacing ours, mainly electrical, and that's when I bow out and defer to the experts. This company was wonderful with ease of booking, communication, and the tech himself. He walked me through everything, gave me solid options (lower end replacement, mid-range, and upper), and got the work done quickly. The warranty on the garbage disposal is an impressive eight years which means we can call them at any point, for any issue, and they'll fix or replace which is nice. They were also very available, getting to us quick and it just seems like a well-run operation. Props to the Andy's team for being set up so well, but I hope I don't have to call them anytime soon!

So glad to have 'Yelp' and 'Google' for business reviews. Found 'KC Water Heaters' on Yelp with…read more5-star ratings. Contacted the owner (Chase) on Christmas Eve(Sunday) after discovering no hot water and unable to light the pilot. Chase stated he would be here 9:00am Tuesday morning. After performing reviews on our current Whirlpool water heater, could not find a positive review for the unit, so decided no matter what the problem, would have a new one installed. Contacted Chase again to let him know to bring a new unit. Chase arrived on time and right off could tell he was very personable, professional and respectful of property. After going over the Whirlpool unit, he agreed it was time to install a new one. What gave me full confidence is his knowledge of the water heater unit operations, venting, chimney importance(flue through chimney) and root cause of the rust(and how to prevent it in the future) which had accumulated on top of the unit. Another factor was the expansion unit which was totally rusted, preventing water from entering. The goal of Chase's satisfaction was to make sure we were totally satisfied with the install, all questions answered and stepped us through the new unit controls, etc. He uses 'Bradford White' water heaters which are highly rated. Chase is a perfectionist, making sure the unit is level, good drainage and secured a couple copper lines which had broken away from the rafter. I will recommend 'KC Water Heaters' to anyone knowing Chase is the template by which all business owners should follow in 'outstanding' customer service. UPDATE: Last month(12/2025), noticed some water dripping from the overflow valve. Contacted Chase to explain the issue. He came out the next day in the morning and replaced the valve at no cost. After checking the main house water pressure, it was right at 80 which is considered high that may have contributed to the leaky valve. Chase reduced the pressure and everything is working fine. Even after two years, KC Water Heaters provides exceptional customer service.

I would give KC Water Heaters 10 stars out of 5, if I could. There are plenty of times I've had…read more"good" or "acceptable" service from those in various electromechanical/plumbing/HVAC-type trades. Usually, it involves having someone out that is just there to get in and out as quickly as possible, doesn't want to be bothered by details, doesn't show a lot of attention to detail, and rarely cleans up well after themselves. That is not KC Water Heaters. I'm almost dumbstruck by how responsive, communicative, consultative / informative, and all-around thoughtful Chase was throughout the entire process. He arranged and quoted everything with a couple of brief phone calls and some photos I texted to him, all within a couple of hours...and then they were out the next day to replace a leaking water heater (showing up on time, no less!). He completely reworked the plumbing and drain lines associated with the water heater, and educated us on maintenance and the effects of water softeners on water heaters (wow, was that an eye-opener). All throughout the process, he even talked us out of more expensive, but unnecessary options, and redesigned the placement of the water heater to make it more supportable and safe. He literally thought of, and anticipated, everything. We could not be more impressed!

I was able to easily set up an appointment online within a time frame that would work for me. They called prior to the technician coming out. The technician was professional and friendly and I feel like the quote they gave me was reasonable compared to other companies. They do charge a $49 service fee normally but that's relatively lower compared to other companies. The technician waived the service fee which was extremely nice and not expected. I did end up going with the company I normally use but only because they quoted me a lower price for the same thing but I would consider using Mission in the future if needed.

Be very cautious with Mission Plumbing, Heating and Cooling…read more My neighbor recently had Mission out for a service call; the problem was with the control board in the air handling unit. The tech had to leave to get a board, but was back within a half-hour and spent a little over two hours total, including the time to get a new board. The board was under warranty, so there was no cost for the board. He was charged $1,063.48, but given a 10% "over 65" discount, so total charge was $957.13, which works out to somewhere between, $320 and $479 an hour. The technician also said that he was lucky that the board was under warranty, otherwise it would have cost and additional $1,000 for the board (this was also verified by the service manager at Mission). We got the model number of the board, searched for it on the Internet, and found it on the manufacturer's website (Goodman) for less than $100. We contacted Mission to discuss with the general manager twice; he never returned our calls. We then visited Mission in person to visit with him, but he "was in a meeting", so we were directed to Gabe, who confirmed the charges above. When asked about the pricing for the board, we were told that it is not generated locally, but by Southern. Mission was purchased in April 2021 by Southern Home Services of Maitland, Florida, which owns 26 PHVAC companies primarily along the southeast coast of the United States. Southern is, in turn, owned by Gryphon Investors, a private equity company. So not only does Mission need to cover their overhead locally, they most likely need to also provide funding for Southern, who in turn possibly has to return cash to Gryphon. It all flows uphill. Southern also owns C. M. Mose, another local PHVAC contractor in the Kansas City area. Moral of the story: Mission may have been a good company at one time when it was locally owned, but it has changed. Get pricing up front. Question the technician. If you don't like what you're hearing, go somewhere else, and don't hesitate to go with a mom and pop; quite possibly they can do the job just as well for quite a bit less money. They don't have the overhead that the big guys do (especially if owned by private equity).
