I called and spoke to Luke about his company, and what he could possibly do to my house to make it more energy efficient. He sent out 2 very nice guys, who did a survey of the house and came up with some things they could do to greatly improve the efficiency of the house. He hooked up some kind of vacuum seal on the front door, and showed me how much air was leaking around the house. He looked at the attic to check the insulation, and it was deficient as well. Sean sent me a very detailed report, with pictures, and gave me his suggestions along with the prices. He also told me that he would file all of the rebates for me (which helped take care of a chunk of what it cost). I haven't received a utility bill yet, but can already tell the difference in the house when I turn the furnace on. I think the house is pretty tight! I had them foam the rim joists in the basement, did the whole home air seal and added much needed insulation. A KCP&L inspector came by when they were almost done, and checked their work. He said that he's very familiar with the company and they always do a great job. I've struggled with heating an cooling loss the entire five years I've lived in my home. I was referred to Green Improvement through a friend. I called them out and they did a very thorough inspection of the place and then came up with an affordable game plan. I'd initially put down a deposit and scheduled them to come out a few weeks later. Well as luck would have it some financial things came up and I needed to push back the appointment. We are working on our basement finish and we wanted someone to install Roxul insulation in the ceiling for sound damping. We got few bids and it was obvious we were being overbid. I contacted GIC and they were very responsive. Sean came out the very same day (which we really appreciated), took measurements, and gave us an immediate quote. His quote was very reasonable and way below everyone else. We ended up having them do the surrounding insulation too. We got a discount followed by another discount as well that saved us a couple hundreds. They got us in their schedule in a couple of days and got everything done well. They were responsive the whole time and I really liked the finished product. They offered some further recommendations for some insulation but were not too pushy, unlike others. I called this company last year because i was tired of my heating and cooling bills being so high. After their very thorough inspection i was told my attic was lacking insulation and my house needed to be more air tight. Since the improvements they recommended were done to my house i have already seen a huge drop in my heating bill and hope to see the same on the cooling bill this summer. We were very pleased and Impressed with the quality of work and the professionalism shown by Green improvement consulting.The auditors were very knowledgeable and they explained ,with detail, where we had air leakage around our home and the ways we could prevent that loss.
