My husband and I choose the 75 minute foot & body couples massage. Lucy and Helen are absolute masters of their craft. They clearly ask you what pressure you prefer, and then stick to your preferences throughout the treatment. Helen and Lucy take their time, are thorough, and regardless of what number client we may be in their busy day, Helen and Lucy always send us off with a smile and treat us as if we were the only customers of the day. A well-done to Brian also, who is not only a great communicator and a responsive owner/manager, but also ensures every customer is left satisfied. At first, I was assigned a female masseuse who applied far more pressure than necessary. It wasn't the most pleasant experience, but I blamed it on my bunion and those unforgiving shoes. Eventually, the masseuse switched out, and a male masseur took over. He was perfect--just the right amount of pressure, skilled in hitting all the pressure points. His long, deep strokes across my feet, especially around my bunion, were so soothing that I drifted off to La La Land... only to be startled awake by a loud snore. MY loud snore. Momentarily disoriented, I realized I had dozed off. I looked up and noticed the masseur, wearing a baseball cap, paused mid-massage, hands still in position. Embarrassed, I gave a light jerk of my feet, and he resumed the massage. I must've dozed off again, because once more, I snored myself awake. This time, I didn't jump--I peeked through half-closed eyelids and noticed something strange. The masseur seemed to be resting as well, head down, cap low, hands frozen in place. Another slight foot jerk prompted him to continue, and I stayed awake to watch. Sure enough, he adjusted himself and picked back up again. I can't say for certain, but it felt like he stopped massaging whenever I fell asleep. I sincerely hope that's not standard practice. If it is, customers deserve better--especially if we're paying for a full hour of service, awake or not.

I explained this to her and she seemed to have an understanding before I went to undress. However, the whole massage, I felt like I was a baby getting lotion slapped on my back, in a mostly circular motion and at times, being poked. I didn't get a SINGLE knot rubbed out of my back or shoulders, the way I requested considering I do strength training. I also requested some lower body, but she never once touched any lower body at all and wanted me to keep on my biker shorts. She was very sweet, but the massage was EXTREMELY disappointing. Also, I chose aromatherapy and never smelled it at all. However, this is not my first experience with them, which only made me regret coming here even more. I scheduled an appointment back in the spring, back when we were having icy roads. One of the days, every business in the city shut down due to weather conditions, and they still charged me as a no-show despite not even being open. I could never get in touch with them to get a refund and was ignored until I had to appeal it with my bank to get my money back. Save your money and your time. Also, for those who have had similar experiences, they seemed to be very rude in handling these issues. I don't plan to return.
