Needed to get my bicycle up and running, and i had driven past this place a number of times on Old Route 41. So I threw my bike in the back of the car and headed over. I talked to Mike, who helped me get the bike out of the car, and he told me to come back in three hours. How about that for quick service?!? Came back, and the bike was ready to go, and the price was very reasonable. They sell new bikes as well, and repair the ones that need a little TLC to get going. Brought my bike to Engel's for 2 flat tires. Not uncommon as we are only here for a few months a year, but this time when refilling with air upon arrival the tires would not hold air. Engel' took the bike right in, took my name and number and said they would get back to me that day. Within an hour or so I received a call from Phillip saying the rear rim was damaged and would need to be replaced. He offered a used or new replacement, which I thought was great. I chose the used because we use it so infrequently. Phillip said the bike would be ready in about an hour so I could swing by when convenient to pick it up. When I arrived Phillip was cleaning up the used rim and getting it ready to put on the bike with the new tube. He had already replaced the front tube. Customer service was outstanding, thank you Phillip! Pricing was very reasonable and the time to complete the repairs was unbelievably quick. I have riden the bike several times since and it rides great. I highly recommend Engel's, especially Phillip, and will definately use them again when the need arises. read more

At Engles there is no customer service but plenty of attitude. I brought my bicycle in for the annual tune up in February 2021. As I exited my vehicle to drop of my bicycle the owner told me not to take the bike off the rack. He went to say there was a recall and the frame had to be replaced. He directed inside where my information was taken. I was told due to COVID there was a shortage of parts at the manufacturer but not to worry the manufacturer will replace the frame. Understanding the supply chain concerns I waited. Sometime in April I contacted the manufacturer and learned Engle's had not contacted them and no claim was on file. After learning this I returned to Engels where I received and matter of fact arrogant response. The person I spoke with told me he had a lot of them (claims I guess) and was going to complete my claim and file it within the next couple of days. After a number of weeks I contacted the manufacturer again and once again was told no claim had been filed. Moreover, I was told the by the rep that he followed up with Engels himself and requested they complete the paperwork so they could send out the replacement frame that was being held for me. The rep further explained that he couldn't force Engles to submit the claim and he could not to anything until Engles complies. It should be noted that I purchased the bike from Engles. Frustrated I went to another shop in Naples, nearly 15 miles from my home and within two weeks I have a new bicycle. The owner of the Naples shop was welcoming, helpful and overall a gentleman. to this end, I want to thank Engels for giving me the opportunity to find a wonderful bike shop with great customer service. My wife and I visited many bike shops be for we found Engels. We had not be treated well by the others. They said pick out a bike and I'll ring it up. We wanted help picking out the right bikes for us and to be fitted to the bike. Engels did just that. They even changed the saddle on one. Years go by and our bikes needed a tune up. I stop in a few Naples shops to ask about their tune up service and didn't get a good feeling. So I went back to Engels in Bonita and found out they tune up any bike you buy from them for as long as you own it free of charge. And I got the bikes back the same day! I recently needed to replace a flat tire and of course, was happy to find a locally owned store, rather than have to travel to Naples Cyclery, where I had gone before. I arrived at the store, and felt like I was at a Trump political rally. There were Trump/Pence signs everywhere. As someone who has different political views, I decided to shop elsewhere. I bought a brand new Schwinn bicycle from a big box retailer and from the first day it was really hard to pedal. It made a grinding noise when I was pedaling and I could feel something inside the bike rubbing metal to metal. We ended up taking that one back and ordering another one. When the second one came; same thing. At that point, we knew that there was either an issue for recall or a problem with assembly as both had been assembled before we picked it up. We decided we needed an objective opinion, and brought it to the shop on a Saturday afternoon about two hours before close. Within 2 minutes, the gentleman that helped us unload it, knew what was wrong. He told me it would likely be Monday before he could fix it because it was almost closing and also because they are closed on Sundays. I was fine with that. It was ready on that Monday afternoon as promised, and everyone went out of their way to help us whether it was to unload the bike, load it or anything in between. And the repair that I had done worked well, and was extremely reasonably priced. These guys were so nice, and did exactly what they told me they would do. Two days ago, the new bike that I haven't had a month yet that I bought from the big box retailer, started making a new noise. I'm certain that Mike and his crew could repair it with no problem, but at this point, it's going back to the store. I do not want another one. Tomorrow, we will go to Engel's and buy one of their bicycles. They are more expensive, but they are local, they are responsive and do what they say they'll do. Great guys! read more

I was really hoping this place would be as good as it looked an become my new neighborhood bike shop. Brought my bike in for a tune up and tire replacement (~ $100). When I picked it up the tire was done but it didn't look like it had been touched otherwise. There were still leaves in and dust on the chain, rode rough and front brakes were off. I brought it back and they said they don't wipe down bikes as part of service. Kind of an odd response but fair enough. When I took it back home again I noticed a spoke was broken on my front wheel and the rim was not true. Brakes were also a bit off. I guess that's not included in the checkup either. I still kind of think they forgot to do the tune up. Looks like other folks have had better experiences so maybe it was an off day.... read more

This is an excellent bike shop. Had a tire fixed today and had another flat on same tire. I went it back and they quickly took me right away replaced the tube with a more expense one at no charge.
