Topline Google Review…read more During the course of their work on September 11, 2021, employees of this company damaged our ground floor level sliding glass door. A large rock was kicked up by their equipment, shattering the glass. A neighbor heard the crash and observed the employees running away, taking their equipment with them. It seemed apparent they were not planning to take responsibility for their actions. In fact, they left no note nor contacted the HOA management company to report the incident. The company's actions resulted in severe damage to our property for which it must take full responsibility. Several days of back-and-forth phone calls, emails, and texts resulted in the admission of guilt, placement of cardboard over the open glass, and a promise of restitution by the landscaping company. The manager wished to have their glass vendor on site for an estimate to verify the costs. We arranged for him to enter the condo to perform the estimate. His professional opinion was that the glass could not be replaced; a new door would be necessary, thereby confirming our original premise. We ordered a new door and hired our own installer. This, of course, took several months and it was winter in Minnesota. Several emails and phone conversations later and with no follow-through, resolution, or response by Topline, I had second thoughts about its integrity. Though we had originally discussed that Topline would pay for the installation of the new glass, given the very firm opinion stated by their vendor of choice, coupled with the subsequent and persistent inaction of the company, convinced me to both involve the HOA management company (the contracting entity) and increase the restitution amount. Topline now insisted on obtaining two additional estimates. If indeed estimates were obtained by Topline, no documentation was provided to us, despite several requests. In fact, no appointment was made for an estimator to enter the condo (which was a prime requirement made by Topline to ensure the most accurate substantiation of projected costs). No documentation was ever provided by Topline that disputed our actual costs. To make full restitution, Topline had received, as per its reasonable request, the documents substantiating the cost of the installation, new glass door, and recycling fee required by the HOA for removal of the old door. Partial payment has been made, but we are still owed $1700.00. Moreover, there continues to be no response from the company. In the meantime, its employees have damaged small items properly placed outside our door, yet left items belonging to others alone. They leave landscaping debris on and around our patio and front door when they had not done so before; this poor service continues to this day, now including other locations throughout the property. They claim they are not responsible for any damage to personal property (placed within HOA guidelines) or cleaning up extraneous debris remaining after their landscape maintenance efforts. We believe the former actions to be intentional retribution for their mistakes and the latter to be a breach of their contract with the HOA management company. While this is certainly a separate issue, it goes to the level of the company's character and quality of work. Another issue related to the company's integrity is Topline's level of job completion in a timely fashion. This has been reported to the HOA management company by several residents and is a well-known contract infraction. Overall, the work done year-round is sloppy and inconsistent. Crew members walk through the areas and wave the machinery around; little to no actual cleanup is accomplished as much debris is left on the sidewalks, steps, and rock/garden areas, as noted above. This company is also contracted for snow removal. The crew(s) arrives late, if at all, does some minimal plowing and perhaps some shoveling, then leaves for hours, sometimes not returning until after residents have plowed and shoveled their own walks and parking areas (and now forced to repeat their efforts to clean up after the crew leaves a sloppy mess) and sometimes never returning at all. This does not appear to be related to the length of a storm. In addition, it is contracted to clear the trash/recycling area of snow, yet rarely does so, leaving both residents and the waste management company without full or safe access to the area. All of this has been reported to the Better Business Bureau. A limited response was submitted by the company; however, no resolution was achieved. Accepting full responsibility for its actions is evidently not part of its business plan. We are still owed $1699.11. Contrary to its stated mission, this company does not stand behind its work. Neither does it perform high quality work nor is it reliable. We thought it should be known. If only it were possible to leave zero stars.
