2020 was a year where my body and soul needed attention. Since those wonderful massages weren't an option this year, I was able to benefit from the other skills that Christina has been honing. On our Zoom calls, she would lead me in a short grounding exercise where I could check-in and see what I needed. She has a great toolkit, and we would choose what was right for me for that day. Some days it was breath work, some days I needed to talk it out, and still other days a guided visualization helped me unearth what was really wanting to be addressed. We would often end our session with coaching where I would commit to a short exercise or practice. These Zoom calls with Christina helped make 2020 a year of self-care rather than suffering. When I saw Christina this week she gave me a myfofasical massage. She explained that fascia, the layer of connective tissue in the body, can be encouraged to let go of pain, tension and even emotional trauma from years past with gentle, slow pressure. Her technique proved to me that my body needed more than a regular massage because I have never felt this loose and relaxed especially in my upper back.
