Then a boilerplate contract with errors I had to correct for him. $3000 payment over Venmo, but when I marked it as "goods and services" he tried to get me to resend it. All further communication and scheduling done over text. I went ahead and signed my daughter up without going to meet with him first. $3000. Big mistake. When we walked in the door for her first lesson I was shocked. The place was filthy. He was wearing dirty clothes. The place was dark, lit by candles and the air reeked of incense. It was nothing like the pictures on google, not even close. He prattled on about how great he is. He felt more like a used car dealer than a professional. My daughter was so uncomfortable she refused to go back. When I demanded a refund he went silent. He's probably just a guy who's down on his luck, but it felt more like a scam. Whatever you do, go meet him at the location before you send him any money. There's a reason he's not up in Boston or MetroWest competing with reputable tutoring services.

When it comes to teaching, one-on-one tutoring has been the best method for her. One hour a week is sufficient to supplement her regular schooling, which makes it easier for her school instructors to teach. Sylvan provides Positive Reinforcement, effectively encouraging children to enjoy learning. Students are rewarded with tokens for good work that are exchanged for prizes from the student store. My daughter always leaves happy and appreciates the gifts she earns for her hard work. Positive reinforcement gives students confidence and a sense of pride. I was scheduled to take a certification exam at RIRAL Testing Center in Woonsocket, RI on Saturday,…read moreSeptember 14, 2024 at 9:00 AM. On my Meazure Learning Scheduling Confirmation Notice (Admission Ticket), the reporting time was 08:45 AM. I arrived in the parking lot about 8:35 AM. There were plenty of parking spots. Around 8:40 AM, I headed into the building and took the elevator up to the 4th Floor. I followed the signs to RIRAL Testing Center. The proctor was helping someone at the moment so she told me to go to the waiting room. The waiting room was 2 doors down. Once the proctor was ready for the next check-in, she went to the waiting room to grab the next person. I submitted my confirmation notice to the proctor. She checked my current, government-issued photo identification (ID) with signature (driver's license), verified the exam I was taking, verified I was not permitted to have any reference items, let me choose a locker to put my car keys in, asked me to roll up my jeans to show my ankle and asked to see my ears, and then walked me to the exam room. She inputted some information in the computer and then I was off to take the exam. The proctor informed me that the room is being recorded, raise my hand if I have any questions, and wished me luck. During the exam, she would walk in and see how we were doing. After submitting my exam, I got up and the proctor returned to shut down the computer. I checked out and grabbed my car keys from the locker. There were about 7 other people taking their exam with me, but each cubicle is spacious. Taking the electronic exam at RIRAL Testing Center was seamless from parking, checking-in, and checking-out with the proctor. The desktop and keyboard were good. I didn't use the restroom, but the restroom was by the elevators and a key needs to be used.
