We used advocacy services offered through RI Tutorial which allowed my daughter to get needed accomodations and interventions through the public school system. Her advocate's level of expertise and diligence was the missing piece in getting the cooperation we so desperately needed. I wish I had sought their services earlier. She made amazing gains and began to enjoy school. Also, RI Tutorial enabled my daughter to attend a 5 week summer camp that she would never have been able to attend otherwise. It taught her decoding skills, helped her become familliar with the Orton-Gillingham method of learning, and gave her a new confidence. She cried many happy tears throughout the program. My daughter loves to read now! She missed the beginning part of recess the other day because she got lost in a book. She said, "I felt like I was inside of the book and it was so awesome that I didn't notice that everyone went outside!" We had to go to the library after school to get the book so she could continue the story. This is the same little girl that used to get sick to her stomach before school every day due to nerves. Seriously, the best tutoring program out there with the fastest results. The techniques used are vast and custom prescribed to each child's unique learning challenges. Many tutors drive to your area or the child's school. Our child has a tremendous amount of energy and focus related issues so instead of paying for diagnostic tests to learn what we already know, we chose to have him tutored by professionals that are specialized in helping add and dyslexic children. It worked for our 2nd gr child and hopefully more kids will get the opportunity to learn in a manner specialized for them. Learning is not a one size fits all practice. read more

The skills my son learned there the summer between first and second grade helped his reading fluency and writing, bringing his work back up to grade level and beyond.
