We visited Enoteca Monza on a Tuesday in the middle of the day, and it was pretty quiet, only one other table there. The food was good and the service was okay we had to waive down a few times as they barely came to our table, nothing bad but nothing that really stood out either. They do have a great patio, though, which makes it a really nice spot for drinks during the summer. That was definitely the highlight for me. As for the food, it was very basic and had more of a big-chain restaurant feel. Not really a place I'm rushing back to for the food, but I'd come back for the patio and the summer vibe. read more

Three months and we finally dine out on Saturday July 4 2020. Restaurants finally have opened under many restrictions in Montreal . Enoteca Monza staff were all friendly wearing masks and the tables were spaced out well. We started out with a chopped salad. There was no condiments on the table . When I asked for pepper & Parmesan cheese they brought over small packs . Get use to the new way of fine dining with condiments. The chopped salad was great. We order the penne Arrabbiata. Which is no longer on the menu . The sauce was on the spicy side but was great. The meal was great and the staff at Monza made us we feel safe . Great meal and was a positive experience . I've enjoyed the food at Monza for years but last week was the worst dining experience of my family's life. We sat in the dining room at a booth for 6 people and could not even hear each other speaking. There was an end of year party of about 60 people happening in the middle of the restaurant for a young girls sports team. Besides the girls treating the restaurant like it was a park, the coaches were screaming at the top of their lungs giving out awards. It was absolutely ridiculous and we couldn't get out of there fast enough. We were dumbfounded that management would allow this to go on! I made the reservation that afternoon and would have appreciated a heads up as to what the atmosphere was going to be like. I would have appreciated the choice to sit or to go elsewhere. A group that size should have booked a private room or hall somewhere. I will never go back for dinner in the dining room again. Shame on you management. That evening was awful. read more

Went here on a Friday night and it was a full house. You know a restaurant is run well when despite that, you have a great experience from beginning to end. We had a reservation which I would recommend you make during their busy weekend evenings, we were seated right away and had great quick and attentive service. My go to order is the hazel salad and margherita pizza, it never disappoints! Their desserts also hit the spot. For a table of 4 we opted to split 2 desserts; the Cookie Monster and the Nutella Calzone. Both were realllllly good, in fact I am drooling right now remembering them. Came here for a work 5a7 last week. We were around 20-25 people. The waitress in the bar area was kind of snooty but the manager was nice. Service was very slow and drinks were ok. Seating was a little uncomfortable since they were trying to cram us into a smaller table. The food was pretty good though (once we received it), I got the chicken panini with a side of fries and salad. Fries and sandwich were yummy and filling - I would reorder it. Being made in a wood burning stove they have a nice 'rustic' feel to them. If your not sure what to order - go with the Calabrese. I ordered the Caesar salad with veal parmigiana. The salad was a nice size portion as an app. Great fresh taste and not too heavy on the dressing as you sometimes get with other places. The Veal Parmigiana is excellent. Nicely breaded and accompanied by either your choice of spaghetti Pomodoro or sea-salted Parmigiano fries - again, go with the spaghetti! If after all this you still have room for dessert - then don't bother looking at the menu: Go for the COOKIE MONSTER. This soft chocolate chip cookie is served to you a la mode in a warm cast iron pan ready to be enjoyed. They also have specials on Wednesday and Thursday nights. I give it a 4 star for family friendliness and the food was pretty good. There were lots of kids, high chairs available and kids can be a little goofy. We got a margarita pizza which was great. And the hazel salad with chicken on top. I thought the chicken was ok but hubby said it seemed more boiled than grilled. The biggest downside was that the food took a really long time to come. I come to Monza very often, and this time I had their Gnocchi Della Zia (with mushrooms, rapini, garlic, basil, and tomato sauce), arancini (rice balls stuffed with prosciutto and mozzarella), and Caesar salad. Everything is cooked to perfection and servings are extremely generous. They offer complementary warm bread and butter. Their pizzas are all freshly baked in their wood fire oven, you can taste the quality. They have many high-quality Italian desserts as well. Price is reasonable: 16-20$ for individual portions and around 30$ for family portions. The service is usually quick and always friendly. The indoor dining has a sophisticated feel but is a little dim. There is a nice outdoor terrace, great for warm summer days. One of my family's favourite restaurants and definitely a must-visit in the West Island. read more

Came here Friday night with a couple of friends to have a nice meal and catch up. Waiter was a very friendly and funny guy who was at the top of his game! Drinks and food came out at a fairly quickly. One friend order a chicken parmigiana which he totally enjoyed! Other friend had the chicken cutlet and loved it too. I order a sausage and meat and pancetta pizza (of course what else!) and really enjoyed it. I bought the family size and brought the rest home. Why mention that part? I WOULD GIVE 0 STARS IF I COULD. Posted this on a Facebook complaint group, and the owner attacked me there as well. Never going to Monza DDO again!! Last week my boyfriend ordered pasta for pickup, but mistakenly ordered the wrong one. When I called to let them know about our mistake, the man I spoke to was super duper nice. He said he could tell my boyfriend wasn't sure which one to order, and that if we wanted, we could come back and get the correct one. Unfortunately it was about 9:30pm, so he said if I wanted I could take a credit instead. Wow amazing! I said thank you so much and I would be sure to to leave a very positive review! So tonight we decided to have a nice date night. My boyfriend texted me to say he was surprising me with my favourite wine. It was our 6 year anniversary on the 21st, and we were going to have a nice quiet celebration at home. Come to find out when he gets to the restaurant, the OWNER said that there was no credit. When my boyfriend called to tell me he sounded very upset, so I decided to call myself since I was the one the credit was issued to over the phone. The owner was rude, unhelpful, talked very loudly over me, I had to ask him THREE times to let me finish speaking. Then he had the audacity to say it wasn't his fault the employee issued a credit he wasn't authorized to, and that he would not be honoring it. I explained I would have received the pasta anyway if I had gone back, but it was too late at night. He said it wasn't his problem. I then asked him if a 25$ credit was worth losing a longtime customer over, and he said he didnt care. I said thanks for ruining my night, and hung up. I was planning to bring my mom there for her birthday too in November. Sucks because that poor waiter is probably going to be reprimanded for trying to give me good customer service. The calamari was nice and crispy, not overcooked. The platter was alright, nothing crazy, the best part of it was the cheese. You know what I like about a real Italian restaurant? The commitment to fresh food and basic ingredients. Unfortunately, from the doe and ingredients for the beloved pizza to the pasta, it is all factory. And we're talking three $$$ resto here people. And what do you expect with such immense menu variety. Always question a large menu. If you have to ask, how do they do it all- don't do it. If you're Italian or have respect for Italian's don't support this mockery of Italian cusine that preys on poor unknowing suburbans who don't know the difference. They get them with the fancy fire burning oven all-the-time. FYI the oven may be fantastic, but what they're using it for- ain't. On top of it, the one manager I met is smug and will stick up for his poor food- this was the most interesting part of the evening. That night I only remember being dissapointed by the lame pizza (more like dressed-up Dr. Oetker) and the crazy salty veal dish with cream sauce. But the wine tasted like wine... so that was good. Not to mention the free parking in the suburbs. Thank god they sell booze otherwise I would call their expiration at 2 years. Just saying. It's not the food fueling this engine. The restaurant is a little on the noisy side however if you are willing to see past that and have a family, I suggest trying it out. With most (if not all) pasta dishes, you can opt for the 'family size' which is a great way of cutting costs and sharing a meal. Pizza's are gigantic too (made in their wood burning stove). Not quite on the same level as some places you would find in Little Italy, but for a chain restaurant, it is certainly worthy of 3 stars. read more

Having supper with a friend who I hadn't seen in a while at Enoteca Monza. We started with the butcher's board and crostini bruschetta which were really fresh and tasty. We then had the rucola pizza and the penne Gigi. The prosciutot, mozzarella, and the arrugula were fresh and the pizza dough wasn't over cooked so it was both crispy and soft. The pizza crust was made this morning or yesterday. When you order the pizza they put the toppings on and then re-heat. The pasta dishes are equally unappetizing. The decor is otherwise nice and the wait staff all wear the the spandex crotch length dresses which appear to be the required uniform for female wait staff in many of the Montreal chain restaurants. read more

Came here for the first time on Friday with a small group, we all started with the sangria to share, it was full of fruity flavor and refreshing - the way a sangria should be. The presentation was also very nice which always adds a positive feel to the experience. I was also impressed on the choice of wine , and the knowledge that the service staff had on the wine list. For main meal I decided with another person in my group to try 2 different pizzas. The Calabrese was amazing, do not take this if you don't like spicy though as the hot peppers definitely had effect but did not take away from the flavor and texture of the Italian sausage. We also tried the Capricciosa, this one was amazing, the prosciutto gave a nice sweet taste to the pizza which compensated the spiciness of the other one. The individual pizzas are a decent size for sharing if you want to expand your taste horizons to share and try different types. Very disappointed. I ordered a grilled chicken breast and asked the waiter for a simple salad instead of the potatoes and grilled vegetables it came with. He told me this would not be a problem. After my 4 friends were served their dinners, the waiter returned to inform me that the chef "refused" to alter the plate and that I could have the plate as it was described on the menu or order something else. I'm not sure what disturbed me more; the chef refusing to alter the plate or the waiter only telling after everyone else was served!
