Scallops and risotto
Cole M.

We loved this place! We made a reservation online and our table was ready when we arrived. The staff was kind, knew about the wines on the menu, and did not rush us which we appreciated. We order a bottle of Sauvignon blanc and the waitress kept our glasses full. The scallops and risotto were one of the best things on the menu. The oysters were fresh and the steak was tender. We would definitely come back if we're ever back in mont tremblant!

The food good and delicious the drinks are delicious. The waitress very nice and kind. And it felt like I was in a whine seller and was really nice fire.

Beautiful restaurant inside of a beautiful hotel. The ambiance is romantic and upscale, and the service and food (and prices) reflect that as well. Our waitress was very attentive and amicable, we liked her a lot. The food was all extremely high quality and delicious, but the price (even considering the quality) was extremely high. If you want to splurge, I'd say definitely come here. But if you are looking for a decently priced place or value for your money, don't come here. With that said, again- the food was all very very good. The menu is small, but everything we got was beyond good.

Prime rib steak and Cabernet Franc

We had an amazing romantic dinner here. The waitress was very helpful in all of her recommendations. We started with delicious buttery oysters and shared the prime rib steak, paired beautifully with a Cabernet franc as per the waitresses recommendation. We were seated right by the fireplace which was warm and oozed romance. A great experience and would highly recommend Restaurant La Quintessence to anyone visiting Mont Tremblant!

You'll find the hotel and restaurant La Quintessence tucked between the edge of Tremblant village and Lake Tremblant. The restaurant overlooks the garden and lake. Double-doors from the restaurant lead right onto the terrace and garden. We came by on the Thanksgiving Monday during lunchtime and all was tranquil since the long weekend crowds had just packed up and headed home. We just wanted a little bite to eat so we decided to pay them a visit. There is valet service at the main entrance and the restaurant is downstairs. The hardwood interior gives you that warm chalet feel but the restaurant and hotel are by no means small. The staff took our coats and we were seated by the window as we requested. I ordered a side of fries to go with my beef tartar but asked to switch it with waffle fries and I was not disappointed! The waffle "fries" if you will, are thin layers of waffle cut potatoes deep fried to a crisp. They resemble more chips than fries. They were a treat to eat! The beef tartar with microgreens salad was quite alright. I didn't find that the cheese petals went with the tartar so I peeled them off and ate them separately. The French onion soup was rich and delicious and very filling. Have that with a side of bread and you're good to go! I made the mistake of getting a bottle of sparkling water figuring it would be about $6 or so... turns out it was a whopping $10. I mean, at that price, I could've gotten a glass of wine. I felt that the food and service was good and reasonably priced even for a 5-star hotel restaurant but seriously, $10 for a bottle of sparkling water is a bit outrageous. If I come back, it'll be flat water for me!

My first ever lavish dinner, consisting of 5-7 courses(wow, can't even remember the exact number, lol). Their oysters are to die for; fresh and served with some spicy sauce. YUM. The table wasn't ready despite having a reservation made. Even though, it was not a big deal, but one would think that an up-scale restaurant like this one wouldn't make such mistake. Delicious food. Great ambiance. Excellent service. I'd highly recommend it.

If you are a hotel guest you'll dine here at least once. I suggest dinner and seating inside, as the mosquitoes come out at night. We actually moved inside during our dinner, not a big deal. Our service was friendly and spot on. 5/5. We enjoyed a huge shared plate for 2, market price of $135.00, enjoyable. The food did take 45 minutes to come out, but we were enjoying our conversation. For me the meat was good not great, not tasting the prime steak markers, but still very good. 3.5/5. The wine by the glass was fine, wine list was marked up. Overall a pleasant dining experience.

Since the Buzz disappeared mid-pandemic, there has been a wine bar sized hole in the heart of Centretown. My first introduction to Buyers and Cellars was a birthday celebration where my friend treated me to a tasting. It was every bit as girly and glamorous as you imagine. We were all dressed up and sampled 5 wines - 1 oz each and "travelled" from the Alps of Switzerland and Italy to Chile. My friend and I chatted happily in between tastings while the sommelier regaled us with stories of each winery, how long they had been in business, and how many of the wines they sell can only be found here. Imagine! These rich tasting wines not available anywhere else in the country. The wine from the Alps , for example, is only made in very small batches. I bought a bottle and I was hooked. I have since gone back twice - once when I was in a pinch and couldn't get to the LCBO or it was close to closing - and this evening. The second time I came away with two bottles and a free glass of wine. Tonight, I stopped in to pick up a nice bottle of wine for dinner on Friday, and asked if it wasn't too busy if I could sit and have a drink. The sommelier happily obliged and poured me three 1oz glasses, each of a rossa, carmeniere and a Croatian red wine. The Croatian, called Dika, was my favourite, so I bought two bottles ($60). The bartender comped my tasting, and I was happily on my way... but I'll be back!
