When you step up to the window to order, you can see what an amazing job they did on the inside. It a tiny, cute kitchen and decorated perfectly. They had several different types of cupcakes available and I was excited to try a few. I decided on 3 different flavors: Strawberry Fields, Queen of Tarts, and The Acorn. The Acorn was a chocolate/peanut butter combination that features a cute little acorn-shaped buckeye on top. The peanut butter flavor definitely came out. The Queen of Tarts was a terrific lemon/raspberry flavoring. Not only did the lemon cake taste very citrusy, but there was fresh raspberry preserves inside the cake mixed with a lemon curd. My favorite, though was the Strawberry Fields. The fresh strawberries in the middle, combined with the perfect buttercream on top was just the start. On top of the buttercream icing there was a dusting of strawberry crumble. The flavor of strawberry really came through on this cupcake and it was delicious. The icing on all of the cupcakes was smooth and delicious. There was quite a bit of icing, which can sometimes take over the cake, but that is probably just personal preference. The cake, in my opinion, could have been slightly more moist as the cupcakes were all a bit on the crumbly side. But all in all, the cupcake flavors came through wonderfully and I really enjoyed all the combinations.

I've seen others on social media post about this bakery, and I wanted to give them a try. I was so glad I did! Contacting the shop was a little bit difficult. I'll give that to the quarantine situation. But my phone call and email didn't go through, and I had to resort to messaging the owner on facebook messenger to place my order. I was looking for a small cake for just my in-laws to enjoy since we couldn't celebrate as one big family at the time. The bakery offers a large variety of cake flavors, fillings, and icings. I requested an almond flavored cake with raspberry filling and a vanilla buttercream. I also requested simple anniversary decorations, too. When I picked up the cake the owner was cheerful and energetic and showed me the cake. She put the text "Happy 39th Wedding Anniversary" in red lettering because she researched the anniversary and realized it was the "ruby anniversary", so she made it red in honor of that. The simple touches the owner puts into her work really show! The prices for cakes, cupcakes, and other baked goods aren't provided on the bakery's website, so be sure to ask ahead of time so you're not surprised. The cake I ordered came to $25.00. I know I could get a cake cheaper elsewhere, but believe me when I tell you that the quality and flavor of this cake was bar-none! My mother-in-law is a huge Oakmont Bakery fan, which would be considered one of Jess B Bakes competitors. My MIL being the sweetheart that she is gave my husband and I a small piece of her cake, and I have to agree with her. When you walk in, it has a warm, inviting vibe. There are a variety of tables and seating options (including some couch and comfy chair type seating). You order by going up to the counter, and they either call your order or will bring it to your table when it is done if you are eating it there. One down side is that there is a fairly large menu and it isn't always easy to find/see all of the options when you are waiting to order. My daughter saw someone got a bubble tea but at the time we were looking, that menu wasn't easy to spot so we didn't even know it was something they offered! All of their food items are made to order (well, I suppose except for the soup which is home made and just dished out to order). They even have soup flights on certain days! I need to go back and try that because every soup I've ever had here has been delicious. They have the standard coffee menu but also always have some unique and quirky seasonal options. They also have smoothies, bubble teas and some other unique creations. They have tasty breakfast and lunch sandwiches, breakfast scrambles, mac and cheese and a variety of sandwiches. You can easily customize your meals and the staff is great about providing recommendations. It can take awhile to get your food/drinks, but that is because everything is made to order.
