Fresh donuts and cinnamon roll for every visit! Best donuts in the area for sure. Dying to take a cinnamon roll home to warm up and eat. Can't wait to be back!

Really enjoyed my first visit. Everyone was so helpful. Lots to choose from, everything was fresh. I just recently opened a salon near by in Scott Towne Center and I will definitely be getting food for clients from here. Thankful to find this place. Wish you all had coffee.

This is my second time coming here this year. Quality and taste have gone way downhill. I ordered a cheese danish, frog, and a hot cross bun. The bun was so dry and fruit didn't have flavor. There was hardly any cheese in the danish and tasted fake. The frog was okay but not like others I've had before. Service depends on who you get. One lady was really nice and the other didn't want to be there and was rude. I went to another local bakery and ordered another danish. It was night and day how much better the other was. This is so close to our home but isn't worth it

Simply amazing! Our family has been trying different bakeries for birthday cakes in the south hills area ever since our bakery we used for years had new ownership. Potomac Bakery is the place to go! They are so accommodating to whatever you are looking for and as you can see by the picture, they decorate their cakes beautifully. We couldn't get over how perfect and thin the lettering is on the cake and how detailed the flowers are. This is a butter cream cake with a raspberry layer of filling in the middle that was very light and delicious. We are so excited that we found our new spot to get all of our family cakes and baked goods!

Went around 12ish on a Saturday. I went in and there was 1 person in front of me, and about 5 people came in after me. One thing I should note is they should have a ticket system. The store isn't big enough to fit people waiting so you have to trust people not to cut in front of you when you're waiting since you can't form a a true line. 1 think I need to note is it's the Slowest service ever. There was about 6 workers 3 in the Bali bf area and 4 or 4 by the counter. I person was doing cake pickups and the other 2 I'm not sure. There was 1 person taking orders and it took about 15 minutes with 1 person in front of me to order. The person I front of me barley got anything. A different worker came over to help me. The workers had no pep in there step, now maybe it was just a rough day, but everyone was just really really taking there time. I got a chocolate chip muffins that just seemed to be missing something in it, it just tasted slightly off. The cookies were good, but nothing great. Overall, I don't think I would go back unless I have an hour to kill. But like I said, maybe it was just a bad day.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The cases were clean and very well organized. The kids loved the PAC-Man cookies. The cinnamon rolls are huge and the donuts are definitely fresh.

    New Year's Pretzel
    Patrick B.

While celebrating the new year, a Pittsburgh tradition is to get a pretzel and eat it at midnight to bring good luck. I look forward to this every year and decided to get ours from Potomac Bakery which always delivers and they have options so that you can customize it the way you want. We went with their large pretzel, topped with nuts and cherries. The dough is sweet and has cinnamon swirled throughout. The pretzel was amazing, but they offer a lot more too including cookies, cakes, cannolis and muffins. Everything they make is delicious and it's always a special treat when we are able to stop by. If you haven't tried them yet, make the trip to visit and you won't be disappointed.

I discovered this hometown bakery back in 2004 when I lived in Dormont. I just visited for the first time in forever yesterday. They allow 3 people in a time to allowed for social distancing and that you wear a mask. I went towards the end of the day and they still had a good variety of cookies and cakes. The two girls working couldn't have been nicer and worked efficiently as a team getting my order together and checking me out. I got this hybrid muffin/cupcake and it was delicious! Chocolate muffin with a buttercream icing in the center=perfect! I also bought this blueberry cake for dinner at a friend's and everyone (including myself) raved how delicious it was. Very moist cake, plentiful amount of blueberries with a subtle icing on top. Be sure to visit when you're in the downtown Dormont area! You won't regret it.

I live on the West Coast & my best friend lives on the East Coast. I wanted to do something cute for her family to find out the gender of her third little! The owner & all the staff were so friendly, super responsive & gave me peace of mind being all the way on the West Coast that the cupcakes would be perfect. They worked so well with my timeline of not knowing exactly when I would get the results but they were so quick to get these cupcakes ready so I didn't have to hold this secret of the gender in for so long! LOL! I received a text from the decorator when they were ready, was able to pay on the phone, and they even answered all my silly questions leading up to my friend picking them up! Thank you Potomac Bakery - my friends enjoyed doing this with their family and the memories will last a lifetime!

This shop is part of a larger chain but currently appears to be the only location in the Pittsburgh area. It's located in East Liberty and is really more of a bakery than a coffee shop. The inside is split about 50/50, with half dedicated to seating and the other half serving as a self-serve bakery. You grab a tray and tongs before walking around selecting whichever baked goods catch your eye. They also have display cases filled with cakes and other pastries that need to be kept refrigerated. For my coffee on this morning I went with a 16 oz hot honey lavender macchiato while my wife chose a 16 oz iced tiramisu latte. I have to admit that the name of my drink confused me a bit at first, but it ended up being a latte macchiato as expected. With that being said, I thought it was quite good. The lavender was light enough to be noticeable without overpowering the drink, while the honey added just the right amount of sweetness. The espresso was also present, especially on the finish, where it added both flavor and body. My wife also enjoyed her latte and appreciated the tiramisu flavors throughout. Outside of the coffee, we ordered a number of pastries. My wife chose the Crookie, which is a cookie baked on top of a croissant. My son picked out a chocolate-covered Belgian waffle, while my daughter chose the strawberry soft bread. All of them enjoyed what they ordered, and I think my wife especially loved the Crookie. As for me, I went a little overboard and chose a garlic and cheese croissant, a curry croquette, pork-dusted bread, and a sweet taro cream bread. All of them were delicious in their own way. The garlic and cheese croissant was a nice savory option, with plenty of garlic flavor and a crispy cheese crust. The curry croquette had wonderful warming spices that made it especially flavorful. The pork-dusted bread was definitely the most unusual item. The pork topping reminded me of Wild Bill's Beef Jerky, and somehow those savory flavors worked really well on top of the crunchy laminated bread. Last but certainly not least was the taro cream bread. I was impressed by how light it felt despite being packed with an impressive amount of cream filling. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I'm a sucker for bakeries like this and clearly ordered far more than my waistline needed, but everything I tried was enjoyable. While the coffee was good, the pastries are the real reason to visit, with the coffee serving as an excellent complement.
