    AVOID FAIRFAX CLEANERS AT ALL COSTS. THEY PUT A HOLE IN MY BRAND NEW CASHMERE SWEATER. Sweater was…read moreworn ONCE and purchased 2 week ago. THEY ALSO WASHED TWO PAIRS OF BRAND NEW JEANS WHEN THEY WERE TOLD TO DRYCLEAN THEM ONLY AND NOW THEY NO LONGER FIT. THEY REFUSE TO REPLACE CLOTHES THEY DESTROYED. They said they are not responsible for holes that appear in cashmere sweaters after dry cleaning because they put them in a mesh bag. They offered to mend the sweater and steam my clothes to make them looser. They said they had the RIGHT to wash my jeans because that is what is on the label, DESPITE the fact I specifically told them not to. If this company took responsibility for their errors I would not be leaving this review and would have had no quarrel with them. They do not and that's why I would not recommend them. Also, it seems they send everything out and don't clean it themselves.

I specified dry clean only for two pair of my ~$200 jeans, and the ladies said ok. But when I pick them up and try them on they have clearly shrunk. Next time I bring two more pair of ~$200 jeans, I say, last time my jeans shrunk and that I think last time there was a mistake, and these jeans must be "dry cleaned only"(!) and cannot go in the drier(!). When I pick these jeans up they have both shrunk and are no longer wearable! I return to store to show shrunken jeans. Formerly polite ladies ask if I have gained weight (?!? seriously?). (No, I actually lost weight recently). Then lady pulls out ruler and says waist looks okay (as if she can expertly tell from this silly evaluation?!?). I explain that when I put jeans on I they are most obviously too tight (and were not before) and that they are clearly 1-2 inches too short now compared to before. I then also show that jeans label has been changed by water from washing not dry cleaning. Lady finally says to come back and speak with manager. When I speak with manager, he takes ZERO accountability, and says jeans wash instructions do not specify "dry clean only", but admits they have instructions for "no tumble dry" (not sure if they followed that no tumble dry though either??). I explain that I clearly and repeatedly specified dry clean only! Manager says my instructions were ignored as they can't follow customer instructions and have to follow garment instructions. I argued that if my instructions were not going to be followed then my jeans should have been returned to me without cleaning and without charge, with a note that my jeans could not be cleaned. Manager said they don't do that (?!?!?), and that they do whatever they want as long as it's not prohibited by the garment's cleaning instructions. I was offered no compensation whatsoever. I was also told they do not have insurance to cover the cost. He told me to take it up with the jean manufacturer (seriously, good luck with that?!?). So all I can do is never go back there and advise others to avoid Fairfax Cleaners, unless you have clothes that you want to shrink or if you like cleaners that blatantly and admittedly ignore your customer instructions.

    Lost half my clothes the first time using this service. Just got off the phone with "customer…read moreservice" and their solution is for me to file a claim where I send them pictures of my missing items. I don't know about you, but I don't have pictures of my socks and bras. And I don't make it a habit of taking pictures of the clothes in my hamper. When pressed, she said the company has photos they can use to find my items. If a representative bothers to respond to this review, don't believe anything they have to say about this being an anomaly. My clothes were delivered last night, yet when I texted customer service about my missing items, I got this form response: "Hi Crystal - I'm so sorry to hear about the issue with your order. To help us assess and resolve quickly, we'll need a bit more information. If your order was delivered in the last 14 days, please complete our simple claims form here: www.rinse.com/customers/claim. Please include: 1) Photos of the items 2) A link to where the item (or comparable) can be purchased online. If it has been more than 14 days, you can send this information here and we'll open a claim for you. Thank you - we're here to help." So you lose people's clothes often enough to have a canned response ready??? Do NOT use these people. I don't know where to begin replacing these items. I'm so glad I didn't let them dry clean my custom-made items. My next stop is the Better Business Bureau. Rinse should not be in business. Shame on you.
