I then called and their business number is nothing more than a voicemail so I left a detailed voicemail and a call back number. Still did not get any contact with their company. Not sure if we were flimflammed or if the estimate of our landscaping job was so inaccurate the…read moretotal cost was $1200.00 more than the original estimated bill. We paid 1/2 the cost of the job 6/23/25 (original bid $2725), and date completed was 7/18/25....and this was not a big job. We have a small strip of backyard, maybe 15'x80' to be leveled with dirt and new sod placed. The workers were unreliable, they did not show up when scheduled and did not communicate until we reached out to them. They were not prepared, they dumped dirt in our backyard in the pouring down rain without tarps to protect from run off. My husband had to work the whole time they were here (and after they left) to cover the dirt with tarps and level off the ground for sod prep. One of the workers ran over our mailbox and didn't even tell my husband. I discovered it when I got home from work, he asked the workers about the mailbox, and the worker stated that he may have backed into it....too much! The extra charge of $1200 evidently was for the "miscalculation" of needed fill dirt. The dirt load they originally brought covered maybe 30% of the yard....I have pictures, that load did not cover much. Total job cost $3925.00.

He recommended installing a basin drain system as the solution, but unfortunately the work was completely ineffective. The crew dug up the parking lot and front of the house to install the drainage system, but left a huge mess behind. There were trenches and uneven areas throughout my parking lot and even extending onto my neighbor's property. The entire job felt rushed, like the priority was finishing as quickly as possible rather than making sure it was done correctly. The drainage system itself was poorly designed. The drains were not installed up against the house where the flooding and water intrusion was actually occurring, and the front of the property was not properly graded to direct water toward the drain. As a result, the system did little to solve the original issue. When I reached back out and asked James to come back and help correct the problems, his response was that they were "already barely making any money on the job." That response made it seem like the focus was more on profit than standing behind the work or making things right for the customer. Overall, I was very disappointed with both the workmanship and the customer service, and I would not recommend using this company for drainage or water intrusion issues.

They put an irrigation line on my neighbors side of the fence that was found when I hired another company to connect to my well, which they refused to do. No one asked nor told the neighbor nor I if that was ok. And they refuse to do anything about it! Neighbor has a rock yard and was out of town when it was done, so he nor I could tell till now. Turns out this new contractor had worked for them and quit two years ago due to issues just like mine. 3. They told me they winterized the system last fall, but did not drain lines so the back flow valve burst. They refused to repair it without being paid $7500! I had to hire someone else to fix it. 4. I was told they installed the remote module in the system so I could control it with my phone from Texas, but they did not. I had to pay someone else $100 to install it. 5. I told them the controller was faulty and was running 3 times a day. I had cleared it and it did not still stay on schedule. I got two $600 water bills for two months before they would replace it. BOTTOM LINE...DO NOT HIRE THEM! THEY LIE, THEY ARE SCAMMERS AND THEY OVER PROMISE AND TRY TO CHARGE YOU MoRE THAN CONTRACT PRICE! PLUS THEY DO NOT FOLLOW THROUGH WITH THEIR WARRANTY! I used Miracle Grow on the dying plants. After two weeks I called Caribbean Landscaping and told Steve Ackerman that there were 8 plants that were dying. Several days later Steve made no appointment but when I went to get mail I save two "holes" which I assumed Steve had taken only two plants. Weeks later I had not heard from Steve so I emailed him to determine his intent. Apparently he had no intent to replace any of the plants. After the call Steve sent an email stating the plants were getting too much water. I had engaged Foxworth and Moore Irrigation to maintain proper watering. Foxworth and Moore set the sprinkler system for 15 minutes for each section for three days a week. Before I engaged Foxworth and Moore I contacted Steve Ackerman to see if he knew of the company , Steve approved of the company . After Steve said the plants were getting too much water I contacted Foxworth and Moore and I was told that based on three days a week could not have been too much water. I emailed Steve and he stated basically, well what do you want me to do. I said I wanted the plants replaced and the mulch to cover the bare areas. Too date I have not received anything further from Steve. The cost of my landscaping was substantial and I expect to get the plants replaced with healthy plants and sufficient mulch to cover the lPictures are included. I have to correct my assessment of Steve Ackerman and his landscaping business. I posted plants that were dying. First Steve said the plants got too much water. I was using Foxworth and Moore that was monitoring my sprinkler system and he said the plants could not be getting too much water. Steve found out the plants in that group had a fungus. Dying plants were removed and now the replaced plants are beautiful and are healthy. I appreciate Steve correcting the old plants and replaced with very healthy plants. So I must correct my complaint; I would recommend Steve Ackerman's landscaping business. Steve is reliable, professional and cares about jobs.

That said, Tyler assessed my system and discovered my pump was cycling frequently, sprinkler heads impacted below the base of the grass, sprinkler heads on the same zone as rotary sprinklers, and some sprinklers were too close to the house. In addition, he addressed my desire to add more heads to the back of my property and provided his professional opinion and advice. Once the assessment was complete and rough estimate of the time and cost, Tyler and Mike performed an irrigation system valve reconfiguration, zone expansion, sprinkler head maintenance, sprinkler head relocation, and installation of two valve boxes. This was a two-day project and I could not be more pleased with the SKILL, PROFESSIONALISM, and EFFICIENCY displayed by Tyler and Mike. Plus he does not provide a schematic of location of sprinklers. When my husband asked for it after the job was complete he just responded "oh we don't do that". Also, when we had a problem later with one of the sprinklers, his company was way too busy to get out and fix the issue in a timely manner. I had to get an entirely different company out.
