I was about to cancel my appointment after reading two reviews with very low ratings. I'm glad I…read moredidn't because I've met the best Allergist Practice in the area. Dr. Gonzalez and his staff were very kind and attentive. Contrary to one person's comment, I did not have to wait to be called. They were very punctual with my appointment. As a new patient, the doctor took the time to learn about my medical history. This doctor, despite having been in practice for many years, is very passionate about his profession.

After 6 grueling months of having them receive a referral and make an appointment for a basic…read moreallergy test, today I was finally told they are no longer seeing new patients. The first few months was the initial battle - this was when I had to call, about once a week (which eventually became every other week), to both my primary care and their office to confirm that they had received the referral necessary for me to see them through my insurance. And, each time, they always had an excuse. The first few weeks, they kept saying they just didn't receive anything. Then, they told me I must have the wrong number. And then, when I finally conferenced them in with my primary care doctor, they gave them another fax number (of course, which they never received a referral to, until months later). Three to four months later, after the referral miraculously appeared at their office (a process which should take no longer than 5 minutes, and that's if the person was using one hand), they fail to notify me of this. I go on thinking they are still waiting on the referral, but finally make the decision to call them once more and check for myself. This time, they tell me the referral was received, and I could make an appointment, but it would be about a month out. Because of all the previous issues I had with this doctors office, I decided to call them back a week beforehand to clarify the appointment details. One of the reasons I chose this doctor's office was due to the location, as they had one office located where I live in Palm Beach Gardens. When I spoke to the receptionist (it was always the same lady, so I can only assume they have only one person at the front desk, which is surprising), she told me that the Palm Beach Gardens location had closed, and their only open location was in Loxahatchee. Although I knew it would be a bit of a drive, I spent all this time and effort to get where I was, so I took it. I eventually had to cancel the appointment due to issues with a medical condition. Today, being that my medical condition has become much more manageable, I tried to call in and reschedule. Instead of telling me I need to pay a fee for a missed appointment, or any other reasonable excuse, I was told they are no longer seeing new patients, and when I asked why, I was told it was due to the current pandemic. Besides the fact that this makes absolutely no logical sense (why would they see current patients, and not new ones? Am I more likely to have COVID because I am someone they do not know?), the sweetheart at the front desk who made this 6 month wait possible (she was and is in no way a kind person, if the sarcasm didn't project through my words well enough) didn't even offer to reschedule me at a later date. One of the worst practices I've had the misfortune of dealing with. Steer clear if you want to avoid a heavily mismanaged office, and a grumpy, lazy, and useless receptionist. It is truly sad, as I heard Dr. Gonzalez was a good doc. But, if the practice isn't run well, everything else crumbles.

If he informs me that I have a bacterium that cause chronic infection in my nose, I would not do the surgery which was not necessary because I controlled the bacteria, the infection would disappear. In August 11 after I saw for first time after the surgery and he informed me about the bacterium in my nostrils; in my way out, I asked the front desk for the culture and the MRI report; with those reports in my hand I called my sister who is my sister is a maxillofacial surgeon; she told me not to waste time to go immediately to a hospital emergency; where I was admitted immediately when I showed them the culture report; then I was sent to my house after 2 days hospitalized where they sent the nurses twice a day to put me the antibiotics serum which this lasted until September 13, 2017 to control the "e-coly" bacterium. The information I have obtained from other surgeons is that a patient who has bacterium or infection should not be admitted for a surgery unless the infection or bacterium is controlled. On top of this I believe that he fractured the nasal septum because it remains raised in one side. The procedure was supposed to last no more than 40 minutes as he told me but he took about 4 hours. Finally, this would be the last doctor I would recommend to a family member or friend. I could label him as an insurance squeezer. The insurance denied the polyps removal claim because in the pathology report there was nothing about polyps.

He and his office ignored me post surgery when I called to say I was in dire pain and even when I sat right there in front of them. He finally took a culture which proved to be stapf and enterobacteria, which they took over 2 weeks to let me know that result. I then had to get a third sinus surgery which was the type that should have been done in the first place. He is not focused and yells at his staff right in front of patients , do not go to him if you value your health.
