Michael Block Changed My Mind About Nurse Practitioners I'll be honest - I've always been skeptical of seeing nurse practitioners instead of physicians. I thought doctors were better trained and more thorough. Michael Block completely changed my perspective. I found Michael out of desperation during a holiday week. My primary care physician had dismissed a concerning lump I felt in my upper left neck/parotid region, telling me it was nothing. But I knew something was there. I took a same-day appointment at the Phoenixville location (a far drive for me) because I needed answers. He actually listened. Within minutes, Michael validated what I had been feeling. He agreed something was there and didn't dismiss me. He ordered an ultrasound, which confirmed a small benign fluid-filled cyst - nothing serious, but I wasn't crazy. That validation alone was worth the drive. But he didn't stop there. While awaiting the scan results, Michael ordered a comprehensive panel including: Autoimmune screening (ANA) Inflammatory markers (CRP, ESR) EBV and CMV antibody panels Bartonella testing (my cat recently scratched me) Full allergy panel He was thorough in a way I've rarely experienced with any provider. He solved a problem I'd been living with for years. Michael identified that I likely had TMJ and suspected my nighttime breathing issues weren't sleep apnea - they were allergy-related. The bloodwork confirmed it: I was highly reactive to dust mites (Class III - high). He prescribed nasal sprays to try while we waited for results, and they helped. But the real transformation came after I got those allergy results. I bought a HEPA vacuum, allergen-proof mattress cover, pillow covers, and duvet cover. I went into full sanitation mode in my bedroom. The results were life-changing. I had been waking up every morning with one or both nostrils completely clogged. Now? My airways are completely open - without even using the nasal sprays anymore. I'm sleeping better than I have in years. His bedside manner is exceptional. Michael takes as much time as you need. He doesn't rush you. He's genuinely interested in your well-being and overall health - not just checking boxes. He's passionate about what he does, and it shows. When my labs came back showing positive EBV markers that looked alarming on paper, he called me personally to explain that everything was fine - just evidence of a past infection like 90% of adults have. He even confirmed what I had researched independently: "No lymphoma." The bottom line: I had scheduled an appointment with an ENT before seeing Michael, thinking I needed a specialist. After my experience with him, I realized I had already found exactly the provider I needed. Michael Block is more thorough, more caring, and more attentive than most physicians I've encountered in my life. If you're hesitant about seeing a nurse practitioner - don't be. Do better with senior women. I had 2 visits which involved 4 appointments. I went in with onset date, symptoms and medical intervention to date. In addition to administrative hiccups and inaccuracies in my medical records, I was essentially dismissed after being told - don't know what the cause is, don't know what is going on, try these meds (the ones I had tried for 4 weeks), you have excellent hearing for a 67 year old, come back in a year. The doctor was efficient and knew exactly what to do to take care of my concern. Office staff were friendly and helpful. The only thing I didn't like was they charged me upfront and will reimburse me when my insurance comes through. I've never had that happen before. read more

Horrible. Extremely Dirty! (Phoenixville Location) Office staff is very rude and unprofessional and Dr was arrogant and uninformative. I had been going to this firm for my allergies and I was hit with an enormous bill due to my insurance not covering in full. I accepted the responsibility to pay $40 a month to get this paid off as fast as I could. Got to the last $90 and they choose to just put my account into collections without even notifying me. Who does that? Bottom line they could care less about you or your hardships just about $$$ for them. read more

Dr. Broker is very thorough. Audiology experience was positive. Administrative staff including office manager (Phoenixville) is filled with a bunch of amateurs. If you go to this practice just make sure you know your insurance inside and out, because, per the office manager, and I quote "We can do (charge) whatever we want" read more

An hour and a half wait for the dr and still not seen. I understand drs are busy and in demand, but patients have responsibilities also. I don't get paid salary I get paid hourly. To sit and wait for someone who makes three times as much as me. I think it's a lack of respect or poor time management. The staff is amazing friendly. Helpful. But either the doctors need to move more efficiently or schedule better. No one should have to wait an hour AFTER their appointment time to be seen. 2 stars for the amazing staff not the drs. The court of public opinion often lacks deliverable evidence and includes random rants of unsubstantiated emotional invective. I am a patient which has a complex health history which required a quick visit to the ENT. From the very beginning the staff was very accommodating, proactive and responsive to my urgent needs. To such an extent that they expedited my appointment to occur during normal lunch hours. The intake portion was seamless and very pleasant. My appointment with Dr. Cramer was fantastic! We spent a fair amount of time going over my health history, where I divulged my unique case and concerns regarding my existing condition. Dr. Cramer was beyond proactive and was very forth coming in explaining my condition in a manner I could discern being a non-clinician. He also was able to speak into my broader health condition which was way beyond my expectation of health care as it reached outside of his profession. His experience and study took him into a domain where he had knowledge of my particular issues where he demonstrated empathy, wisdom and fantastic advice. Together we were able to establish what the appropriate course of immediate action was and to forecast potential outcomes of treatment along with possible changes to treatment. This level of proactive engagement with a Dr. should not be expected by the Doctor alone, as we are to be patient advocates as well in exploring our own health. I have not begun the course of treatment, but I have a reasonable expectation of the different potential results and the appropriate response or corrective action. I will modify my feedback as I move forward. I told Dr. Cramer that I greatly appreciated his time, diagnosis and speaking to my overall general health and told him he did an A+ job. When I reviewed the comments within YELP I was thinking that the negative responses are just insane. If people posted something negative absent of any evidence, their opinion is meaningless. My evidence was that Dr. Cramer was invested in my case and was incredibly diligent. read more

I went to this practice for 3 years. When I first went to the practice they were excellent! Over the years the service as dropped dramatically. Now I was notified last couple of months that since Dr Actor retired they can't handle my condition. I am now having to find and locate a new Allergy Specialists; meaning I have to start the process all over again. Dr Actor assured me I would be able to continue allergy shots at my primary doctor. I got my ears cleaned (not even by the doctor) and then the doctor came and talked to me for maybe 2 minutes. They charged me a doctor visit and ear cleaning... $400. They were nice but I think the cost for services rendered is extremely unreasonable. read more

My doctor is fine; no true complaints with my service. It's the lack of timeliness. Both appts in Phoenixville, I waited over 40 minutes. My 2nd appointment, waited close to 70 minutes. No one keeps you updated. Also, the charging is phenomenal. This practice was recommended. I wouldn't recommend it. read more

To make a very long story short- this practice simply does not have the integrity to get more than 1 star. After seeking a second opinion on our matters, I realize this doctor gave us a lot of inaccurate and incomplete information. The doctor at this practice jumped to innapropriate conclusions that would have led to unnecessary surgery for my 2 year old, had I not researched otherwise. To top it off, they billed us using codes during our visit that were not accurate, and misleading. My experience here was a big pricey waste of time that was quickly resolved with the helpful doctors at CHOP ENT. 1 star for you pheonixville. 5 stars for CHOP. People- go where the best experienced professionals are, not here. I also want to point out that the two people that treated us with a misdiagnosis, billing errors, and innapropriate behavior, was the office manager named Valerie, and Dr Kramer. While the actual doctors were professional, my experience here was horrible. Went here to get checked for allergies. First visit was asked a couple of questions, told to make an appointment for allergy testing and billed 200+ dollars. Came back for allergy testing. First thing they did was tell me my blood pressure was too high so they could not give me the allergy test. Knowing that I would not receive treatment that day they proceeded to give me another test for which they charged me $125 plus the $200 office visit. Since they could not give me the test in the office they told me I needed to get blood work. Got a call from the doctor to tell me to come in to review blood work. Come in and they tell me there nothing wrong and to make another appointment. You guess it, another $200 (plus 2 hours wasted). I have gotten blood work dozens of times and NEVER has a doctor required me to come in to tell me there is nothing wrong. It was ALWAYS handled over the phone. And of course they wanted me to make another appointment. I called 6 times to see why I was given $125 test (even when they knew they were not going to proceed with the allergy test) and also why I had come in and pay for an office visit to tell me there is nothing wrong. Was promised 6 times that I would receive a call from the office manager which I never did. Finally talked to someone in billing who told me "We are not billing you, we are billing the insurance company". Bottom line is if you have time to waste and good insurance then this is the place for you read more
